Meet Cookie – a beautifully marked 14.2hh piebald gelding, 5 years old and packed with personality. This eye-catching cob has both the looks and the nature to make someone an absolutely brilliant best friend and partner. He’s a lovely type, with a lovely natural balance, calm brain, and a fantastic can-do attitude.

Cookie has been slowly and correctly produced, and he’s proving to be a really smart, willing pony with a very sweet nature. He’s ideal for someone looking for a pony that’s safe, sane and full of potential – whether you want to enjoy long hacks, have fun at Pony Club, or eventually do a bit of everything.

He’s a real favourite on the yard – easy to have around, always polite to handle, and very affectionate without being in your pocket. He loves human company, stands like a rock to be groomed, and is happy to load, travel, and settle in new places.

Under saddle, Cookie rides in a snaffle and goes in a lovely rhythm. He’s responsive without being sharp, happy in open spaces, and not the spooky or silly type. He has a lovely work ethic and is proving willing over poles and small fences – honest, genuine, and improving every week. Cookie has started basic schooling over cross-country fences and has shown he’s brave and steady, taking everything in stride.

He hacks out alone or in company, is good with farm machinery and traffic, and has seen a wide variety of sights and sounds. He’s got the kind of temperament that makes him enjoyable and safe to ride, suitable for a riding school.

Cookie would suit a capable teen, small adult, or even a novice – he’s that kind and sensible. With his solid foundation and steady progress, he’s ready to continue his journey with someone who wants to enjoy a well-mannered, friendly, and versatile cob.

Cookie is open to vetting, has no stable vices, and is up to date with everything. Delivery across the UK available, and we offer an exchange option if needed – but we think once you meet him, you won’t want to let him go.

One of the main issues that RDA groups face is finding an Equine to suit the needs of the participants in their group.

We are regularly contacted with offers of Equines that are ‘the ideal RDA horse or pony’ when actually what is ideal for one group may not be for the next. We are trying to move away from the stereotypical view that RDA Equines are elderly and somewhat static, our horses and ponies need to be fit, healthy and athletic to cope with the lifestyle in an RDA group.

They can range from smaller, forward going ponies to weight carrying cobs and can take part in a range of disciplines from Riding to Carriage Driving, Vaulting to Show Jumping and Endurance.

If you contact an RDA Group about your Equine please be prepared to fill in an Equine Initial Interest Form which will ask you many questions about your horses’ temperament, health history, experience and lifestyle. Many groups will prefer to have an equine on trial to make sure they are suitable for the job.

For long term loans and purchases they will also be required to have a Pre-Purchase Examination.
