2004 coachbuilt HIGHBURY HORSEBOX 7.5T on DAF LF 45.

We have owned this lorry for 14 years. In this time it has been driven up and down the country and has never let us down! We are only selling it due to having 4 to compete this season and have bought an HGV.

Located Scottish Borders. We are only 1.5 hours from Newcastle, 50 minutes from Edinburgh airport and 15 minutes from the train station.

Well maintained and clean, this 2004 compact PRB Leyland Daf 7.5t horsebox measures just 16ft long, making it very easy to maneuver and reverse. The PRB steel frame was built in 2010. Owned by careful lady owners, we have used it for our heavy horses, hence the huge payload of this lorry.

It is strong and the horse area isnt limited by internal lockers. The ramp is light enough for one lady to lift it, but strong enough for heavy horses to walk up it. There are several external lockers and a rug rack inside the horse area. It has a battery isolator and air conditioning in the cab. The horse area measures 7.6ft W, 10ft L, 7.8ft H. It starts first time and drives beautifully.

Very easy and comfy to drive.

It was fully refurbished and painted in 2022, new marine ply floor with rubber matting, chassis undersealed, gas cooker and grill, a sink and water tank, lighting in living and horse area, lower and upper kitchen cupboards and a table inside the living area. There is a large double bed in the luton area and large storage under the sofa.

In the last 2 years we have spent in excess of £6000 on maintenance and repairs mechanically so this lorry literally has nothing else to fix on it. A full list of all the work carried out can be seen on request, but is too comprehensive to list here. We had planned to keep her, hence why we spent all that on her.

Unfortunately a health issue has meant giving up the Heavies and a full yard dispersal. A genuine reason for selling this lovely reliable lorry. She just got newly plated with MOT until April 2027. Mileage reads 205870.

Built for my daughter in 2023 it’s very easy to drive with mileage of approx. 142900 miles which may go up slightly whilst box still in use.

Tilt cab. Drivers seat “on air” so comfortable ride. Double passenger seat.

Underfloor storage below the living with access from the offside as well as through the large tack locker with 3 saddle racks, 3 bridle pegs and 2 deep shelves. Automatic light.

Another skirt locker holds the gas bottle and one towards the rear has storage for buckets etc and hose for the horse shower.

Entry door to living has a keypad lock.

I don’t have an unladen weight but have found a weight of 6446kg from when it was plated last year so would have included water, fuel, kitchen contents bathroom stuff, clothes, shavings,buckets horsey stuff etc and a human. I have never had a plating with a weight returned otherwise I could have taken everything off to get unladen weight.

Plating due 31/5/26 but a new plating will be put on and the lorry will be serviced
