Cnoc Rua Osprey is a 2021 chestnut Irish Sport Horse gelding by Treehoo Sunshine ISH, out of Cnoc Rua Lucy Ramiro B.

Osprey is an exceptionally easy-going, straightforward and genuine horse with a wonderful temperament. He is very uncomplicated in every way, rides in a soft, mannerly way, and is the type that gives his rider confidence. He is the kind of horse that is easy to do in all aspects of daily handling and production.

He has already proven himself successfully in the show ring, including winning the 4-Year-Old Middleweight Hunter at Dublin Horse Show 2025, being Reserve Champion at Balmoral 2026, and most recently placing 2nd in the Middleweight Hunters and 4th in the Ladies Side Saddle at the RDS Dublin Horse Show in his first season under side saddle.

Osprey is a truly versatile and easy horse who would suit a wide range of riders, from an ambitious amateur to a professional producer. He has the quality and ability to go a long way in the right hands, but his temperament makes him equally suitable for someone looking for a straightforward, confidence-giving horse to enjoy and produce.

A beautiful, substantial horse with limb, movement, quality and presence, who we believe has all the attributes to make a top Intermediate Show Hunter or Small Hunter.

He has been purposely taken slowly and given the time he needed to mature rather than being rushed. He is now ready for someone to put the miles on the clock and continue his education.

He hacks alone and in company. He can sometimes lack a little confidence and therefore needs an experienced or professional home that can continue to bring out the best in him. He is not suitable for a novice.

We originally bought him for a class that I am unfortunately now out of, as he needed more time than we initially anticipated. This is an extremely difficult and genuine sale due entirely to our circumstances and through absolutely no fault of his own.

These quality, substantial types are becoming increasingly hard to find, and we genuinely believe he has a very exciting future ahead of him in the right hands.

He is not being given away, but is very reasonably priced for a horse of his calibre and potential.
