Pie is a seriously exciting young Irish Sport Horse with all the attributes to progress through the levels in eventing and beyond. A modern, quality type with presence, athleticism and a genuinely trainable brain — the sort very hard to find and hugely sought after in today’s market.
By the well regarded stallion Democrat, whose breeding combines some of the most influential Irish bloodlines including Clover Hill and King of Diamonds, both renowned for producing genuine performance horses with scope, bravery and versatility. Pie very much reflects this pedigree, combining quality movement with an exceptional jump and an outstanding attitude towards his work.
A horse with three expressive paces, naturally balanced movement and an uphill way of going. He has done plenty of British Dressage as a young horse to establish his flatwork and gain valuable exposure, consistently achieving impressive scores of 68–69% at Prelim and Novice level. He is straightforward, rideable and always wants to please.
Recently BS registered and already proving to be an exciting prospect over a fence, comfortably jumping around British Novice and Discovery tracks with plenty more scope for the future. A genuine jumper who is brave, careful and uncomplicated — happily taking fillers, riding off any stride and always looking to help his rider out. He has that all-important ability to switch on in the ring whilst remaining sensible and rideable the rest of the time, making him an incredibly exciting grassroots and future upper-level event prospect.
Successfully completed three one-day events with excellent results, consistently producing double clear performances including:

4th at Burghley Pony Club ODE

Pie has all the ingredients to steadily progress up the levels and develop into a very smart, competitive event horse. He is talented enough for an ambitious rider yet genuine and straightforward enough to be thoroughly enjoyable to produce.
On the ground he is an absolute pleasure to have around — exceptionally easy to do and adored by everyone who handles him. A real “labrador” character with a kind, affectionate nature and lovely temperament.
Despite being a tall horse, he is currently ridden by a small lady rider and remains light in the hand, responsive and snaffle mouthed. He hacks alone and in company, is excellent in traffic, sensible in open spaces and never becomes strong or silly. A truly easy and enjoyable ride with a wonderful brain.
