  • Polite, well trained youngster, super temperament about to be started under saddle.
  • By Lifetime Premium Graded Knabstrupper Sire 'Houdini at Little Uncle' KNN 247
‘Denver’ born June 2023, 2.5 years, bay based leopard spot Knabstupper x Thoroughbred gelding. He is an absolute delight to own and has been part of our small herd for 18 months along with is half-sister and playmate, who is the same age (She is 3/4 Knabstrupper). Denver is really easy to do in all ways for a youngster, loves to be groomed, very engaging, affectionate and interested in everything. Very responsive to being handled and when asked to move his body. Very respectful of your space and safe to be around. Picks up his feet politely, happy to be rugged or not, lives in our out, happy to be left when the others leave and go for a ride. Playful when given any opportunity. Vaccinated, regularly wormed and hooves trimmed every 6 weeks. He is a gorgeous (very spotty) blank canvas who has had a really good start and preparation to become a confident, straight forward and stunning lifelong riding horse and partner. If you are looking for a lifetime partnership, come and meet him.

My background is UK BHS & Pony Club in my younger days, and since then I have trained with Buck Brannaman, David Stuart, Martin Black, Honza Blaha, Karen Rolf and Guy Robertson amongst others over the past 15+ years. If this is useful to give you an idea how Denver has been developed these past 18 months. In the herd he has been nannied/disciplined by two experienced, confident and gentle riding mares that I have owned for 18 years.

His sire is the lifetime premium graded Knabstrupper stallion, ‘Houdini at Little Uncle’ KNN 247 out of a Wetherby’s Thoroughbred racing and polo mare.

‘Houdini’ (167cm) is by the German Knabstrupper ‘Little Holiday’ whose sire was the advanced dressage stallion ‘Hamlet Frydenlund’. ‘Houdini’ was known for his paces (scoring all 9s at grading) and his really gentle temperament which ‘Denver’ has inherited. His damsire is ‘Baron aus der schutzentenhand’, the renowned classic Knabstrupper sire.

His dam ‘Rosita’ (158cm) ran four races for the Muscat Rose syndicate and then continued her career as a Polo pony until she was 12 then retiring to become a brood mare and Denver’s mum.

Denver displays an abundance of sport horse potential, if that is what you are looking for, with a really level headed attitude. Three beautiful paces, floats from a standstill to a canter and loves to show off his athleticism and speed playing out in the field.

He will excel in many disciplines, or equally be a fantastic family pleasure horse, but I believe he will be particularly suited to western/eventing/jumping/dressage. Plus, those beautiful spots make him look very flashy. He certainly has the ‘Wow’ factor and is a real head turner! Currently standing around 153cm and I think he has lots of growing and filling out still to do.

We will be very sad to see him go but we know that he belongs in the right forever home where he can continue to grow and be developed into a really special horse for someone. I would keep him in a heartbeat, but my back can't muck out four horses long term!

I will be beginning more focussed preparation and training towards starting him under saddle in the New Year.

He is currently located near Richmond in North Yorkshire. Current photos and videos of him are very thick with winter coat and mud but happily available on request!

DO YOU HAVE A HORSE OR PONY SUITABLE FOR THE RDA?

WANTED ON LONG TERM LOAN / PURCHASE

Ref #: 249896
  • If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below
  • If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below

One of the main issues that RDA groups face is finding an Equine to suit the needs of the participants in their group.

We are regularly contacted with offers of Equines that are ‘the ideal RDA horse or pony’ when actually what is ideal for one group may not be for the next. We are trying to move away from the stereotypical view that RDA Equines are elderly and somewhat static, our horses and ponies need to be fit, healthy and athletic to cope with the lifestyle in an RDA group.

They can range from smaller, forward going ponies to weight carrying cobs and can take part in a range of disciplines from Riding to Carriage Driving, Vaulting to Show Jumping and Endurance.

If you contact an RDA Group about your Equine please be prepared to fill in an Equine Initial Interest Form which will ask you many questions about your horses’ temperament, health history, experience and lifestyle. Many groups will prefer to have an equine on trial to make sure they are suitable for the job.

For long term loans and purchases they will also be required to have a Pre-Purchase Examination.

If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below.

Ryehill Touchstone - Jeffrey is rising 5 and will make 15.2hh. He is a good example of his type - a rare find these days as his height is much sought after.

He is blessed with lots of hair which makes up for the fact that he doesn’t have an awful lot of colour!

He has the most fabulous temperament, he does everything with a smile on his face. Just the kindest person. Always happy to see you and comes to the gate at a canter!

He has three balanced paces. He is a good straight mover with and is a real trier he wants to learn.

He would have potential in the showring and would do a nice dressage test. Truthfully he could go in any direction.

He is good to hack alone of with others. Good in all traffic met. Happy to go first or last.

He does have an engine so can be schooled or happy to go slow hacking with me!!

He is very good on the ground as I walk with a stick and is led of my mobility scooter. Good to shoe and clip.

He is a real sweetie and I am very fond of him but I can’t deal with soooo much hair so have reluctantly decided to sell him as I really want a trimmed cob.

He wants a home where he will be loved and adored

Very sad sale of my much loved boy Rory

Registered name - let’s go LS

17'1 9 year old coloured KWPN.

* clean X-rays taken this week *

I've owned Rory for three years, where he has brought back my confidence. Rory has attended many somerford camps, county shows, dressage shows, showjumping, showing and Eventing.

He has lovely paces and would excel in the dressage world with the correct training. He is learning changes and lateral work and shows a great attitude towards his work.

Rory will jump round a course of 80/90 showjumps, however he can have poles. He's honest and fun to jump.

Rory has XC schooled to 100 level, jumping ditches, water, steps, drops, skinnies with no problems. He is often used as the lead horse.

Rory is ridden in a snaffle to flat and a pelham to jump, he can be ridden in snaffle to jump, however I find him easier to balance with a pelham.

Rory is brilliant to travel and stay away, he is extremely relaxed and easy to deal with in all ways.

He is very well priced due to having a tieback in early 2023, this has left him with a noise when working hard.

Rory would be the perfect dressage, riding club or allrounder to have fun with. Rory will not event due to tieback.

Rory doesnt need ridden daily, will go first or last, will stand alone or be left. He really is an absolute gent in all ways.

My reason for sale is that i'm a competitive rider and wish to move up the levels.

Rory has scored marks of below 30 in his dressage.
9th at his first BE80.
2nd in local summer SJ series.

Can come with some tack and rugs by separate negotiation.

Good Home very important to me!

16.3hh 6yr old Coloured Gelding by Sempers Spirit

3 good paces with a bold scopey jump, capable of producing a nice test. Genuine and straightforward to a fence showing promising ability.

Has been to arena hires, XC schooling and a couple of shows with previous rider. Hacks alone and in company, great in traffic and open spaces. Good to shoe, box, clip etc.

He presented 1/10 on hind flexion in a recent vetting, we have taken advise from our vets and given him some remedial shoeing.

His price reflects that he is unlikely to pass a vetting at this time.

Dressage / Showing/ Hunter / Eventer- Grace - ( Doreens Aires and Graces) 15’3 H , 6 .5 years old lovely breeding ( Airborn stallion ) ISH/WB

Has done a lot of showing with her breeder , including big shows like Bath and West, we brought her in September 2024 , we have taken her to dressage clinics , PC Rallies, clear rounds, hacks out confidently alone or in company

Flashy paces would excel in dressage , came 5th in first ever unaffiliated dressage

Grace works nice on the flat , hacks out well , all good travelling , farrier etc, great in open fields and spaces , has never bolted

Whilst she is jumping over poles in the school she would need more training / patience to compete , she is getting there and she is jumping courses now ,just a bit green in this area , so needs more time and patience in this area , but out hunting , jumps everything !

She has started hunting this season which she loves , will make a lovely hunter , has jumped the jumps , is sensible too , mother daughter share , SJ will come as she was jumping 90 courses before we brought her , but was treated for ulcers which have now gone but needs more work , hence concentrating on hunting this season and other things will help, she is very good hacking alone although young she is sensible , fine hacking out with others too

She is very pretty , nice breeding so showing would also be an option , my daughter is just keen on progressing more in SJ , hence her sad sale

We would love Grace to go to a lovely home which is important to us and continue training. She isnt the finished article as still young , but has scope to excel in a number of disciplines

She is very sweet and has lots of good points , happy to answer any questions , honest description * REDUCED NOW QUICK SALE *

Dun & white 7 year old mare (2018), imported from Ireland as a 3 year old and backed by us. Hunted for three seasons with the South Downs Bloodhounds (now The Wessex Bloodhounds) where she has proved to be bold and a joy to hunt, going first or last. Has both field mastered and jump field mastered - references available.

Has attended two adult camps at Boomerang where she excelled at both the XC & SJ and was a pleasure to stay away with.

Good to clip, wash & trim, with the farrier, vet and dentist. Loads herself and travels well. Hacks alone or in company on the open New Forest. Stands to be mounted from a block or fence. Great at opening and shutting gates.

Used to free roaming pigs, ponies, cattle, sheep and donkeys.

Attended her first SJ competition in the summer and was placed - very careful over a fence - total lack of time means she just hasn’t been out to competitions. Easy 15hh with shoes.

Loves fun rides and beach rides.

Due to a change we have not subscribed to hunt this season and Julles is totally bored and wasted with us. This has forced the sad decision to sell her for her own sake, as she doesn’t enjoy being a field ornament!

Tons of photos & video of SJ available on request.

Ardlea Sundance, or Ted as he is affectionately known at home is ready to find his new friend.

Ted would suit someone who wants to do a bit of everything and be competitive while you’re at it, he has 3 super paces and a lovely soft mouth.

As well as having super potential in dressage Ted is a super jumper with a correct tehnique and a willing attitude.

Cross country he’s seen a variety of fences and popped ditches, steps and water no problem, he also has popped round multiple showjumping courses proving to be very willing with a super trainable attitude.

Ted went hunting on Saturday and took to it like a duck to water, stood perfectly at the meet, waited patiently for his jumps, didn’t pull and jumped beautifully.

Nautrup’s Amaze Malou - Striking 8yrs old 15hh traditional blagdon cob

If you are looking for something special “Maisie” is the one for you. Maisie has a big easy stride and is very light on her feet. Plenty of bone and a ‘real look at me presence’ when she enters the ring.

From what we can tell Maisie was broken at 3 in Denmark and then had a foal. Imported after her foal and went to an older lady who we believe hacked her a bit before becoming ill.

Since being with me she has been to 2 shows, which we believe are her first shows ever, and she has come on each time out. Getting good comments from the judges at her showing show and coming 2nd in her second ever dressage test.

Maisie is not suitable for a novice rider as she is forward going and still needs educating due to being still green but a really exciting prospect for the showing season next year.

Good correct conformation and a lovely attitude. For sale due to not being right for current very novice riders.

Maisie is good to hack, shoe, catch etc… currently barefoot and coping well.

She is still learning independence having always been kept in a herd so not yet hacking on her own. I believe she will in the future.

This is a rare opportunity to purchase a stunning young Traditional Cob mare who is destined for big things. She has all the attributes to be a winner whether that’s between the boards or in the show ring. Confirmationally she’s very well put together, beautifully marked and so eye catching. She really is a beautiful girl.

Patchy has the most fantastic paces, they are bold and flashy, making her turn heads! She is very well schooled for her age, proving to be very trainable and an absolute pleasure to ride. She is the one that we all fight over who’s going to ride her every day and is definitely a yard favourite! She has so much potential and would be a fantastic prospect for Petplans.

Patchy has just started jumping and will pop round a small course, totally unfazed by fillers. She has plenty of scope and would be a contender for BD CT Championships!

At home, she is a complete pleasure to have around on the yard. She is vice free, hacks alone and in company, 100% to catch, load, farrier ect.

Custard is an exceptional 16.2hh 5yr HW Palomino ID/Maxi Cob gelding.

A big yellow dog

He has 9 inches of bone making him a fabulous weight carrier.

He hacks alone and in company and seen a variety of traffic.

Beautifully put together a lovely substantial sort with correct movement. His canter is to die for like sitting on a rocking horse. He is super light on his feet and got placed at his first showing show in hand and ridden.

Popping over fences confidently big bold jump Lovely cuddly person.

Competed at his first showjumping show and just popped around sweetly.

Placed showing in Maxi cob classes

Fantastic out hunting, will stand and jump anything in front of him. Schooled XC inc water, ditches, banks etc

Even started some trick riding at a friends, flags, bridges, umbrellas etc

Could literally turn his hoof to any discipline.

Has not been rushed or pushed. Would be suited to a rider used to bringing horses on.

You would struggle to find anything of this size/quality/substance/colour again so please no dreamers.

Good to clip, shoe, box, catch

Marley is my 8 year old KWPN cross gelding standing 16.3/17hh.

I have owned him from a 2 year old but known him from a foal so full history known.

His dam is a 17.2 KWPN jumping mare, sire 15hh sports pony (Diamond storm Murphy) by the prolific Stormhill Mink.

Marley has excellent conformation, straight moving with no lumps or bumps. He has 3 exceptionally balanced paces and is very agile and athletic to go with it. He schools beautifully from the seat and soft to the hand. He find lateral work very easy, leg yield, shoulder in and simple flying changes, medium and extended trot. He is as soft as can be and could have a piece of thread from my hand to his bit.

Marley will hack out alone or in company and has never bucked, reared, bolted etc. although he may have a little spook at things, he always goes past ANYTHING.

I have had Marley out to unaffiliated dressage and jumping (80cm which was effortless for him) and not phased by any fillers/water trays etc. we have also done many clinics and camps covering jumping and XC where he excels.

He loves to jump with a bold, confident, brave and careful jump. I have schooled him upto 105cm which he does with ease (but I am no showjumper) and told he is a 120cm horse all day long. At the last clinic (Somerford park) the instructor told me she expected my eventing debut by the end of this season.

He is ready to progress his career now with someone who can take him out places and do more with him.

Although he is a safe horse, he is not a novice ride and requires a knowledgeable rider as he is light to the aids and needs very little leg (but in no way silly). Like I say, he has never bucked, bolted, reared at all,

I am sadly parting with my heart horse due to my own personal circumstances and health as he deserves to be out doing what he loves - a job!!

He has never been sick or sorry a day in his life and open to any vettings etc. he is perfect to load and travel. Great with farrier (I have him unshod as he has great feet so never been shod) perfect to trim and clip. I only do half face as he doesnt like clippers around his ears.

No vices at all!!

Upto date with teeth, back and vaccinations. Lots of pics and vids available.

This is the hardest decision I have had to make and would love to see Marley go to a home ideally to event but with a varied job as he deserves the best.
