PRICE REDUCED as he needs to find the right home. We have had a lot of interest but are still seeking a competent rider for him. He has so much potential but he is not a schoolmaster or a plod. He needs an experienced, balanced rider who is capable of using light aids and who can ride a forwards going horse. He is a lot of horse for this kind of money! All offers over £12,000 considered.

Plasnewydd Rhodri is a 15.2hh, 8 years old bay gelding, registered part bred Welsh, by an event bred stallion (by Jeanette Brakewell's Take It 2 The Limit) out of a Welsh Section D mare. He has a mixture of Selle Francais, TB, Irish and Welsh blood.

He has a nice uphill balance and a consistent frame, with the highlight being his lovely elastic contact. He rides more like a horse and not like a big pony. He has nice paces and a particularly good, uphill canter. All the early lateral work is established, including leg yields, shoulder in, travers and walk half pirouettes. He has a good, trainable brain, wants to work and learns quickly. He has been to various clinics and lessons at local equestrian centres and is now ready to compete BD. He will surely progress with the right rider.

Rhodri is forwards going, off the leg and prefers to be ridden with light, sensitive aids. He is not particularly spooky but does take confidence from his rider in new situations and would therefore suit a quiet and competent rider who wants a horse to train and take up the levels. Because of his typical "Welsh" level of energy and sensitivity to the aids, he would not be suitable for a novice or nervous rider.

Rhodri is good to hack and happy to go in front or behind. (We do not hack out alone due to the amount of traffic on our small country roads). He has seen lots of different traffic, agricultural vehicles and cyclists and copes well.

Rhodri travels well on my small lorry, loads every time with no issues and you can take him to venues by yourself. He will stand on the box quietly by himself after a clinic or lesson. He is up to date with vaccinations and the dentist and is shod every 6 weeks. He is quiet for the farrier, with very good hard feet and he is good to clip, though you have to have patience around his ears. He loves a fuss and plenty of attention.

With his previous teenage rider Rhodri competed successfully in show hunter pony classes, unaffiliated and NSEA dressage, jumping and some ODE's. He was not sold to me as a jumper and we have not tried to jump him. I cannot therefore vouch for his ability to jump.

When I bought him he passed a full 5 stage vetting carried out by my own vet, and I also had x-rays done of his feet, joints and back, which can be made available to a potential purchaser's vet.

Rhodri currently has no BD points but is ready to go out and produce some high scores at prelim, novice and elementary levels. He will progress to higher levels with more training and strength.

This is a lot of horse in a small package. Only for sale as my other, higher level horse is now back in full work after injury and I do not have the time to compete both of them. I am looking for the perfect home for Rhodri with someone who wants to compete, train and hack this fun little horse with a big personality. Based Northants near M1 junctions 15 and 16 with good trial facilities.

The best thing I can say about him is that he's literally a pleasure to take out to a lesson or a competition. Travels quietly in both of my boxes either alone in a 3.5t or with other horses in the large wagon. Always stands quietly to be tacked up and requires very little working in and just gets on with his job. He has competed at many different venues both indoors and outdoors including Kelsall in the big indoor and Arena Uk in the outdoor with another horse nextdoor and he's never spooky or silly at judges/flower pots etc.

Lives out currently but during winter was just as happy in at night. Not needy in any way.

She is a nice straight forward/push button ride who is nicely forward going being a medium speed and responsive to the riders aids but not at all sharp. She is a very safe and sane ride who gives her rider confidence. You can safely ride her around on the buckle end in walk, trot and canter. You can also ride her in just a headcolar, completely tackles. Equally for a more established rider she works in a beautiful outline up into the contact and gives you a lovely feel. She is a fun ride who knows the movements like walk to canter, leg yields as well as having auto flying changes established. She has a wealth of knowledge to teach her next rider. She has competed at unaffiliated novice level dressage successfully. She is very good to ride away from home and really does know and love her job.

Dyanne loves her jumping, she is a real point and aim jumping machine. She makes a nice scopey shape and is careful. She takes you into a jump in a lovely relaxed rhythm and is very honest and genuine to jump. She will help her rider out and go on a long or short stride, she really knows her job and wants to jump. She is very bold and jumps all fillers and water tray confidently. She is very ridable around a course of fences and nicely balanced around tight turns and does flying changes where necessary. She would be perfect to teach her next rider and maybe bring them on from jumping cross poles to jumping courses of 1m plus. She has also been xc schooling a number of times where she is always super genuine. She has a super comprehensive jumping record up to Foxhunter including jumping at the BS championships. She has also show jumped all through the PC including jumping at the Royal Windsor horse show PC110 and JCB PC national championships. Jerry is a lovely horse inside and out. He’s Homebred by his current owners so full history known. He’s is the nicest horse to have around, great personality, super friendly and easy to do in literally every way!

Super to hack, not naughty and doesn’t get wound up. Good to shoe clip catch etc.

Jerry has a lovely mouth and is a very comfortable horse to ride, 3 very elastic paces and a super trainable attitude. He’s established with his basics and has now picked up half pass in trot and canter very quickly. I have played around with flying changes as he finds a clean change very natural. He is a horse that always wants to please.

Up to this point Jerry’s main focus has been eventing, however we have found that at 2* level, although he has more than enough power and scope, we find it less easy to leave the poles up. Xc Jerry is brilliant, he doesn’t get strong, has an enormous ground covering gallop and is very brave and genuine. If it wasn’t for the show jumping he would 100% be staying to continue progressing up the levels in eventing.

We feel that Jerry would possibly be more suited to a dressage home and has all the movement and potential to be produced to a very high level in that discipline. Alternatively he would be a fabulous allrounder for someone wanting a very smart horse to enjoy. That’s not to say he can no longer event, however we are not specifically selling down that road but that’s not to say another rider wouldn’t have heaps of fun eventing him at any level be it 80 or novice!

He is fit, sound and ready to go, injury free and no vices.
