Imported from Germany in 2023 after weaning. Diego is very well handled daily; he confidently can be led around our busy farm, with cows, sheep, pigs, dogs and tractors. He is stabled at night, has been rugged during cooler weather and has daily grooming. He has had the very best in time and care, vaccinations, farrier, worming etc. Diego is a quick learner and has shown a genuine willingness with his training.

Diego has spent the summer months at Morris&Smith Young Horse Specialists, he has had an excellent groundwork education, daily long-reining and been lightly backed. He is now ready for someone to carry on with and make him their own.

Diego has three extremely expressive, elevated, athletic and uphill paces. He has excellent conformation allowing him to be very well balanced and powerful with his active hind leg. He has inherited all the qualities and attributes required for the higher levels from both lines of his pedigree.

His Sire Despacito caught the interest of breeders very early on in his career with his stunning appearance and great pedigree. With the clear victory in the Hanoverian Championships in Verden with the dream grade 8.8 and the subsequent win of the silver medal at the Bundeschampionat in Warendorf, he put himself in the spotlight for breeders. As the son of the impressive Don Nobless, out of a dam by Sandro Hit-De Niro-Ehrentusch, his genetics leave nothing to be desired. His love for work and his extremely pleasant nature completes the picture of a stallion, who raises many expectations.

Grand Sire - Don Nobless competed at the Bundeschampionat as a five-year-old, and he is now successful at international grand prix under Susan Pape; winning his first grand prix special in January 2017 and since picking up a host of placings at the level with scores over 70% and making his first Nations Cup appearance at the CHIO in Rotterdam. His grand-sire Dancier was champion of the 2004 Hanoverian Stallion Licensing in Verden and the 2005 stallion performance test in Adelheidsdorf.

Dam Sire - Quaterback. A stallion that seems like he could only come from another planet - with his light-footed, brilliant movement and perfect cadence, all eyes become riveted on Quaterback when he appears.

He was the radiant Bundeschampion of the three-year-old riding horses in 2006 with the highest scores for his trot and canter. The test riders in Warendorf even gave him this dream score of 10.0. Prior to this test, he had won several tests for young riding horses. He was also the winner of his 30-day test with a final score of 9.14 in dressage, an 8.43 for jumping and an overall score of 8.88. As if it were not enough to have unbelievably dynamic movement, he was also blessed with an outstanding type. Quaterback comes from one of the most successful mare lines of modern day. His dam Passionata is a half-sister of the unforgettable World Champion and double Bundeschampion, Poetin. Her full brothers Samba Hit I to IV put on convincing presentations at the Bundeschampionate. Quaterback's successful advanced (S) level sire Quaterman also participated in several Bundeschampionats and is deemed one of the best sires for passing on good movements in the new German States.

Quaterback in the end excelled as a performance producer, he passes his big and fleet-footed movement to his offspring, and therefore has produced a lot of foal champions and auction foals.

Very sad sale because my daughter is going to university.

We bought Rossi directly from his breeders three years ago. Since then, my teenage daughter has trained him up to Medium dressage. They have successfully competed BD up to Elementary and Unaffiliated up to Medium. They’ve also done lots of Ponyclub activities, including camp, rallies, and stayaway shows. They’ve qualified for Ponyclub National Championships four years in a row and have competed in the Intermediate, Open and Freestyle classes, and got several placings. Earlier this year they’ve also qualified for Ponyclub Spring Festival where they came third in the Open FTM.

Rossi has three lovely paces and is a very quick learner. He has a green change and a lot of potential to go far with the right rider. He enjoys a varied lifestyle, including hacking – either alone or in company. Rossi has been to several fun-rides, and he loves a good gallop – with or without saddle. He also loves to jump – both show-jumping and cross-country. He doesn’t bat an eyelid at fillers and jumps everything, but needs some convincing to go into water.

However, Rossi is not a novice ride. He has big movements, and he needs a knowledgeable rider and home. Rossi weaves when he is left alone or when he gets bored. We have managed this with a good routine, which is important for him. He is good to handle on the ground, and can be turned out alone or in a herd with mares or geldings.

Rossi is good to load and shoe, and up-to-date with vaccinations and dentist. He has regular saddle checks and routine physio visits.

We are looking for a competitive home for Rossi where he can continue to compete and enjoy a varied lifestyle, and where he will be loved.

Rideability & Character

Do not let his height deceive you. While he stands at 17.2hh, he is built exceptionally narrow, refined, and leggy—riding like a much smaller horse. He sits light in the hand, handles seamlessly, and does not require a strong rider.

True to his premium breeding, he is a safe but authentic, clever warmblood. For the first 10 minutes of a session, he can feel a little "stuffy" and requires a capable rider to confidently and sympathetically send him forward to stretch.
