Finn has been with us since he was just four months old and has been an absolute pleasure every step of the way. He’s good for the farrier, dentist and vet, loves being groomed and fussed over, and is incredibly easy to catch and handle.

He has happily lived out full-time as well as being stabled overnight, has been turned out with both geldings and mares throughout his life, and takes everything in his stride.

Since being a foal, Finn has had an extensive amount of groundwork and has been given plenty of time to mature correctly. He has enjoyed regular walks along the roads seeing traffic, has been lunged, worn a saddle, bridle and boots, been leant over, thoroughly desensitised to movement and noises around the saddle, and has also been led from another horse out hacking. He has always taken everything in his stride and has a fantastic attitude towards learning.

Finn has now begun the backing process and has been incredibly straightforward. He has been happily walking around the arena with a rider on board, remaining relaxed, laid-back and completely unfazed throughout. Due to having to rely on other people to continue this stage of his education, his backing has unfortunately been a little stop-start and inconsistent so this is as far as we have gotten currently. However, he has shown such an easy attitude that it will be no problem at all for his new owner to continue his education. We also intend to try to keep progressing his backing and ridden work in the meantime.

He has three expressive, correct paces and all the attributes to make a quality dressage horse. Alongside his movement, he has the sweetest personality and truly loves attention, making him a pleasure to have around the yard.

Finn is a genuine young horse with all the ingredients for someone wanting to produce a quality horse themselves. He has been given every opportunity to develop correctly without being rushed and is now ready to continue his education with someone looking for a lovely, talented young horse.
