A very difficult sale of my handsome gelding.

Jack is a talented, experienced and forward-thinking pony who has been a wonderful part of my life over the last two years. He is now looking for a confident, capable rider who will enjoy continuing to get out and about with him and make the most of everything he has to offer.

He is NOT a novice ride or a child’s pony. He is best suited to an experienced small adult or older, capable teenager who is looking for a forward, responsive ride and has the experience to manage a pony who can be sharp at times.

Jack is happiest hacking in company and can be ridden on the buckle. He is good in a group and in open spaces, has seen all sorts of farm machinery, dogs, bikes and everyday traffic. He can be nappy when hacking alone, so this is something that needs to be considered by any prospective home. He would be best suited to a home with other horses and a rider who is happy to hack with company, or someone willing to work with him.

He is a lovely horse to take out and about and has proved relaxed and well behaved at new venues, including busy warm-up arenas.

Over the last two years with me, Jack has enjoyed:

He has lovely flatwork and we consistently score 65–70% at Intro and Prelim. Prior to me owning him, he successfully competed at Novice level, attended Area Festivals and stay-away competitions.

Jack has plenty of previous jumping experience, but this is no longer something I do with him. He would not be suited to a competitive jumping home, although I’m sure he would be happy to pop a small fence at home.

He thrives on variety and would suit a home where he can continue to enjoy clinics, low-level competitions, riding club activities, showing and plenty of outings. He still has so much to give to the right rider.

He is extremely easy to do on the ground and a real yard favourite. He is good for the vet, farrier, dentist and physio, and is easy to clip and bath. He isn’t silly to turn out or bring in. He loads and travels well and has travelled with me in both a trailer and a 3.5t horsebox.

**Marconi's Lad (Benji)**

Benji is a lovely young pony with a bright future ahead of him.

Imported from Ireland, Benji comes with full history known through his breeder. He was bred and backed in Ireland as a 3/4-year-old and competed in two Working Hunter classes before coming over to England to be produced with us. He passed a five-stage vetting prior to import, with the only comment being a small splint on his near fore.

Since arriving, Benji has taken everything in his stride for a little Irish lad. He has enjoyed fun rides, arena hires, polework clinics, cross country and plenty of hacking over the common. Still green due to his age and education, he is a genuinely willing pony who always tries his best. He is now popping sweetly around a course of fences and has proven to be brave and unfazed by fillers. Benji has been XC schooling around Howick BE course. Jumped all the 90 track with ease with a few 100 combinations and single Novice fences!

On the flat, Benji has come on enormously. He has a super trot, a lovely balanced canter and is progressing well for his stage of education. He is an attractive mover with a trainable attitude and continues to improve with every ride. He’s a more kick than pull ride and finds comfort from his rider.

Out hacking, Benji is happy exploring the woods and common, happily cantering both in front and behind. He has been a pleasure to produce and takes new experiences in his stride. He’s seen minimum traffic and use to find traffic a little scary but with more hacking this has got so much better.

Benji is still a young, green and raw pony, so he is looking for a confident rider who can continue his education. He would suit a capable child coming off smaller ponies with support, or a small adult wanting a lovely project. He isn't sharp or overly sensitive ride and appreciates a rider who gives him confidence and guidance. He’s loves to be told he’s doing the right thing.

Bear is an incredibly sweet natured and promising young pony. He has the most brilliant attitude to his work and just gets better and better each time he goes out. He would make a great family pony, mother daughter share, showjumper, eventer, PC or RC pony. Given his age of course he is on the greener side but is proving very willing and honest at all outings to date and will naturally progress with his next rider. No naughtiness in him never stopped, buck, bolted or reared and has no vices at all. Has a timid nature and wants to be your friend, likes things at a gentle pace and not to be rushed or pushed around.

He has a well balanced walk, trot and canter in the school however softening into an outline will be in the next part of his education. Up to this point I’ve just encouraged him to balance himself and keep a nice rhythm rather than pulling him in.

He’s been to many arena hires / XC hires and a handful of unaffiliated shows. Makes a lovely shape over a fence has never caught a pole. Even if green on his first time around seeing something, always comes around brave and bold the second. I go to all outings by myself so my collection of videos don’t do justice how much he’s done but he’s easy enough to do everything with on my own.

He loves hacking will go alone, in company, front, back, I also use him to ride and lead my other youngsters off. Will have a look at the odd bin bag or spooky thing but nothing unreasonable for a 5 year old. Good in traffic and open spaces.
