Searching For Our Daughter's Next Best Friend

To Enjoy Pleasure Rides, Pony Club & Low Level Adventures

  • Ideally 13.2 - 14hh
  • Trustworthy, Kind Natured, Best Friend Type
  • Experienced & Loving Family Home Offered

Sadly, our daughter has outgrown her beautiful first pony (he will be staying with us). We are now beginning our search for a pony who is the next step up to join our family & become our daughter’s best friend for adventures new!

Our horses are kept at home with us so the children are involved in all aspects of their daily care. Therefore, it is hugely important that we find a trustworthy, kind natured character to be the face waiting behind the garden gate each morning!

Over the last 3 years our daughter has progressed well with her current pony but he is generally more of a kick along type. We are searching for a pony who will be a gentle next step up, more responsive & less of a kick along but nothing too forward or whizzy.

We offer an experienced, loving, home where the horses are treated as part of the family. We live in a rural area so do not see a great deal of traffic, however, what we usually meet are cyclists & tractors so the new pony must be confident passing farm machinery out hacking. Our daughter will often be hacking alone (with someone on a bike) so the pony would need to be happy without the company of another horse when riding out from home. We will also be meeting friends for forest rides & attending organised pleasure rides so he/she needs to remain sane & sensible out in open spaces with company too. I appreciate no pony is perfect, her current pony certainly is not but all I ask is that any quirks are disclosed please. Our daughter is used to the odd half-hearted buck & stubborn pony behaviour but nothing unsafe that would put them in danger or ruin her confidence.

Our daughter has popped over small jumps with her current pony but it isn’t really his thing! She is very keen to progress with a pony who enjoys jumping & who she can take to local shows, cross country courses & join pony club with. We are not particularly competitive & enjoy low key adventures & fun days too, so a world beater is not needed. We would not be suited to a pony who requires riding every day to keep safe & sane as we are quite laid back & equally happy pootling out for hacks from home! New pony needs to be good to load onto a trailer as we often travel to enjoy the lovely forest hacks we have nearby.

We are based in Norfolk but would be happy to travel up to around 2 hours. We would welcome home checks & provide references if required, also happy to keep in touch.

Sorry, no dealers please.

Talisker Coinneach (Colin) has started his education slowly and carefully. Very well bred and will make a seriously smart show prospect.

He is rising 4 and has been backed and ridden on short hacks around the roads and farm proving to be bombproof in all traffic and situations that we have come across.

He is very used to heavy machinery, cattle and busy roads as we live on a working farm.

Colin travels well and been shown in-hand where he was extremely well behaved , he won his open youngstock class and stood Reserve Champion.

He is an absolute darling with zero vices, clean limbed and well behaved for the farrier.

I have owned Colin for a year now with plans to ride him in working hunter and flat show classes.

Unfortunately due to a change in circumstances I will be giving up horses and therefore would like to find him the very best of homes where he can be loved and enjoy life.

Ryan is a loveable show standard registered gelding who attracts attention wherever he goes. Same home last five years, he has been brought on slowly and now sadly looking for a new home. He has won / been placed at intro level in dressage, show jumping and WHP.

He can be seen near Dumfries

Approx 142 cms

Ridden in a snaffle.

Easy to handle, good catch, box, clip, bath, shoe etc

Hacks alone or in company.

Happy to live in or out and turns out alone or with others.

Vaccinated, wormed etc

He will be happiest in a home with experience of the highland breed.

He thrives on regular work and is not a plod along type so not suitable for a novice rider, although he has been ridden by a novice 10 year old, as well as adults.

He is ready for someone to have fun and would enjoy being a family pony in an experienced home or with a competitive jockey and a varied lifestyle he could be a great all rounder.

Numerous photos and videos available. Please only phone if you are genuinely interested. Queries by text will not be answered.
