Clyde – 13.2hh, 5-year-old registered Highland pony gelding.
A very well put together pony, true to type with correct conformation. He has a good shoulder, straight and active movement, and is deep through the girth with a strong, compact body and well-muscled hindquarters. Clean limbs, plenty of bone, and good, hard feet. A quality pony with the substance and presence expected of the breed.
Clyde has an amazing temperament and a genuine attitude to work. He is snaffle mouthed, straightforward, and always willing to please. He behaves impeccably in busy atmospheres with no need for calmers or ear plugs.
He is brilliant to hack, both alone and in company, and is very safe in traffic, happily passing tractors, trailers, and lorries without issue. He is great in open spaces, forward going but always with brakes, and never silly or fizzy.
Clyde has been out to local shows in hand and to dressage, where he has consistently been placed at the top end. In the school, he works nicely into a contact and moves well, covering the ground with ease. As a young pony, he is still developing and can occasionally be a little heavy in the front end, but he has not been over-schooled and is ready to progress further.
He can be left for a period and brought back into work without any change in behaviour. He is up to date with chiropractor, farrier, teeth, vaccinations, and saddle checks. The vet has only attended once for a minor cut that was treated as a precaution.
Clyde can be a little stubborn to load, occasionally planting his feet, but this is not malicious and he responds well to patient handling (and a bucket!). He travels well once on and settles nicely.
He would be suitable for a novice rider, however a competent and knowledgeable home is preferred to continue his education and bring out his full potential.
Clyde has a huge future ahead of him and is already proving to be a successful and enjoyable pony. Open to any vetting and happy to provide full history
