This is, without doubt, the hardest advert I have ever had to write.

I have owned Rufus for the past eight years and the only reason he is looking for a new home is that, after 48 years of owning horses, I have made the heartbreaking decision to give up due to the demands of my new job.

Rufus is a stunning 17hh pure Irish Draught with the kindest nature. He is an absolute pleasure to hack and has taken me on countless adventures over the years. He hacks happily alone or in company, is brilliant at the beach, and will lead or happily sit at the back. He loads and travels beautifully in a lorry, is easy to handle, and is incredibly low maintenance. He lives on chaff with a small amount of mix, is a good doer and is generally an uncomplicated horse to have around.

Under saddle, he is safe as houses. He is a big, powerful horse and can take a hold in canter, so he needs a confident, balanced rider who enjoys riding a substantial horse rather than someone looking for a kick-along. He hasn't been in a school for years as i don't have facilities, but he loves jumping, so sponsored rides are great fun.

Because I want to find him the right home, I also want to be completely honest. Something happened to Rufus before I owned him which, sadly, left him with some psychological baggage. I don't know what it was, but it has affected him. As part of our routine, I always give him a small scoop of feed when getting on, which settles him. Around seven years ago he bolted with me on two occasions. He has never done it since. He can still occasionally feel a little tense when you first get on, but this quickly disappears as he relaxes, and the more consistently he is ridden, the less noticeable it becomes. Nowadays he rarely does it at all, but it would be unfair of me not to mention it.

I am not looking for a quick sale. Rufus deserves a knowledgeable, kind and understanding home where someone will enjoy everything he has to offer and appreciate him for the wonderful horse he is. He owes me nothing, and I owe it to him to make sure this is his forever home.

Because I want to find him the right home, I also want to be completely honest. Something happened to Rufus before I owned him which, sadly, left him with some psychological baggage. I don't know what it was, but it has affected him. As part of our routine, I always give him a small scoop of feed when getting on, which settles him. Around seven years ago he bolted with me on two occasions. He has never done it since. He can still occasionally feel a little tense when you first get on, but this quickly disappears as he relaxes, and the more consistently he is ridden, the less noticeable it becomes. Nowadays he rarely does it at all, but it would be unfair of me not to mention it.

I am not looking for a quick sale. Rufus deserves a knowledgeable, kind and understanding home where someone will enjoy everything he has to offer and appreciate him for the wonderful horse he is. He owes me nothing, and I owe it to him to make sure this is his forever home.

Lily is a mare still with plenty to offer. She is a beautiful, well-put-together, hardy, good-doer. She is being ridden regularly, good with traffic and large farm machinery and takes most things in her stride. Enjoys going out to shows and showing.

She has good manners on the ground, is regularly handled and ridden on a busy working farm. She will happily come in from the field on her own, and can be ridden in the school or out hacking, happy to hack alone, soft snaffle mouth, front shoes.

She can live in or out and currently lives out 24/7 in a mixed herd of geldings and mares.

Lily would suit a capable teen or adult rider, she is a intelligent mare and can sometimes take advantage if a rider lacks confidence. She has been good to handle, good with dogs, used to livestock.

Fly By Wire (Frankie) has 3 great paces and a neat, scoopy jump. She is cleaver and quick thinking in the jumping phases, never looking for a way around the jump, pricking her ears the whole time. She is natural and careful over fences, never rushes or pulls me into the fence. Frankie has 3 smart paces on the flat, always being soft and good off your leg making her easy to ride.

She has previously jumped BE Novice and BS 120 with a professional rider. She has team chased during the winter, leading the team from start to finish. Frankie has taken me from jumping 80 tracks to BS 110 in a short period of time.

Frankie is one in a million and knows her job, filling the rider with confidence. She is ridden in all 3 phases in a loose ring snaffle. She’s good to shoe, clip and travel, and overall very easy to handle on the yard. Frankie hacks alone or in company. She is very straightforward with a great temperament and not mareish in anyways.

Sadly I need to say goodbye to my favorite pony boy. Vin-Lee is an outstanding and beautiful pony gelding, he became Bundeschampion as a 5 yo, competed in several CCI1* Events with 6 and started competing in 125 and 135 jumping with 7.

In 2023 he became 4th at the Southgerman Championship Jumping. In 2022 he also competed in the Bundesnachwuchschampionat in Warendorf.
