Haymitch is beautifully schooled with three balanced, expressive paces.
He is much more “woah” than “go”, riding in a lovely rhythm without being sharp, hot or strong.
On the flat he is straightforward, genuine and confidence-giving, whilst when you take him XC or hunting you see the extra gears, athleticism and enthusiasm that make him so exciting.
He absolutely loves a fence and has an athletic, expressive jump with plenty of scope.
There is a lovely natural confidence to his jumping he sees a fence, understands his job and gets on with it.

Haymitch has the temperament to be incredibly approachable, and a competent novice would comfortably enjoy him on the flat and hacking.
However, his jumping ability and athleticism deserve to be utilised.
