Tiggy is a very smart 4-year-old chestnut mare, standing at an impressive 17.1hh, with plenty of quality, substance and presence.
She is a real yard favourite thanks to her exceptional temperament. For such a young horse, Tiggy has an incredibly sensible, level-headed outlook on life and is one of the most genuine, kind and easy young horses you could wish to have around.
She is completely vice-free and exceptionally straightforward and uncomplicated to deal with.
On the ground, Tiggy is as easy as they come. She is good to catch, turnout and handle and is happy living in or out, either alone or with company. She loads beautifully, travels well and will stand quietly wherever she is put. She absolutely loves attention and being made a fuss of.
One of Tiggy's biggest attributes is her exceptionally calm and unflappable nature, which, combined with her size, presence and sensible attitude, makes her a particularly exciting police horse prospect.
She genuinely seems to take everything in her stride. She isn't bothered by flapping bags or things moving around her and very rarely seems to get spooked or worried by anything. New sights, noises and situations are generally met with the same sensible attitude – she looks, takes things in and carries on with her job.
For a horse of only four years old, her attitude is quite remarkable. She has a naturally brave, trusting outlook rather than needing to be constantly reassured by her rider.
Tiggy is very happy hacking out on her own or in company and is equally content to go first or last. Being only four, she understandably hasn't yet had years of hacking experience or been exposed to every type of traffic, but she has been very good with all the traffic she has encountered so far.
She is also excellent in open spaces and continues to remain sensible and rideable. She never seems to get fizzy or over-excited and doesn't use an open field as an excuse to become strong or silly. She is happy to stay with her rider and carries on with her job in the same calm manner.
Hacking she is calm, sensible attitude she shows everywhere else and continues to gain confidence and experience every time she goes out.
She possesses many of the natural attributes you would look for in a potential police horse – 17.1hh, plenty of presence, a sensible brain, confidence, willingness and an unusually unflappable temperament.
Under saddle, Tiggy has been given time to mature correctly and is proving to be a safe, sensible and genuine young horse with a fantastic attitude towards everything she is asked to do.
Despite only being four, she has a maturity and common-sense attitude well beyond her years. She doesn't look for trouble and simply wants to get on with her job.
In the school, Tiggy has a lovely willing attitude and always tries to please. She is more steady and sensible than sharp, making her a very straightforward horse to ride and continue producing. She improves with every ride and has a lovely trainable outlook without being complicated or tricky.
She has recently started jumping and is already proving to be brave, honest and willing, happily taking on new fences and showing plenty of potential for the future.
While we feel her temperament and presence make her an exceptionally interesting police horse prospect, Tiggy certainly isn't limited to that job. She has all the ingredients to make a fabulous hunter, allrounder, riding club horse or quality family horse, and equally has the potential to be produced further in a competitive home.
Big young horses with this sort of brain are incredibly difficult to find. Tiggy combines the size and presence people want in a substantial horse with a genuinely kind, sensible and willing nature.
A quality young mare with a very bright future ahead of her, and most importantly, a temperament that really does make her stand out from the crowd.
