  • BE 100/ NOVICE
  • Established Competition Horse
  • Owned by breeder

I am putting out feelers to place my lovely well established homebred eventer in a competition home with view to competing next season. Happy to pay BE memberships and entries but would like the day to day work and keep costs met by a new rider, only to go to an experienced, quiet private home in the East Midlands area.

17hh quality warmblood x ISH gelding who knows and loves his job. Whilst not strong in the hand he is powerful so would not be suited to a petite lady rider! You must have a proven track record at BE100 plus. No under 25 yrs need apply. Interested parties please apply via e mail in the first instance stating your location, experience and facilities.

A full lease contract will be issued and appropriate fee paid ( to be discussed) for the 2026 season.

DO YOU HAVE A HORSE OR PONY SUITABLE FOR THE RDA?

WANTED ON LONG TERM LOAN / PURCHASE

Ref #: 249896
  • If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below
  • If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below

One of the main issues that RDA groups face is finding an Equine to suit the needs of the participants in their group.

We are regularly contacted with offers of Equines that are ‘the ideal RDA horse or pony’ when actually what is ideal for one group may not be for the next. We are trying to move away from the stereotypical view that RDA Equines are elderly and somewhat static, our horses and ponies need to be fit, healthy and athletic to cope with the lifestyle in an RDA group.

They can range from smaller, forward going ponies to weight carrying cobs and can take part in a range of disciplines from Riding to Carriage Driving, Vaulting to Show Jumping and Endurance.

If you contact an RDA Group about your Equine please be prepared to fill in an Equine Initial Interest Form which will ask you many questions about your horses’ temperament, health history, experience and lifestyle. Many groups will prefer to have an equine on trial to make sure they are suitable for the job.

For long term loans and purchases they will also be required to have a Pre-Purchase Examination.

If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below.

- Based at our Burford Centre -

Falcon is a handsome young gelding who came to us from another charity. He currently lives out 24/7 with another youngster and has settled well into herd life. Due to veterinary reasons he seeks a companion only home. He will thrive in a home enjoying in-hand walking, groundwork, and fun agility activities.

Falcon is good to catch and enjoys being groomed. He’s learning to lead, he can still be a little babyish at times, and is improving with consistent handling. He is currently undergoing training for picking out his feet; he’s more confident with his fronts than his hinds.

He has limited experience with stabling so far, as he’s mostly lived out. Falcon is a bright, friendly youngster who will benefit from a patient and experienced handler to continue his education in-hand.

He would make a wonderful companion for another horse and will flourish in a kind, understanding home that can give him the time and stability he needs.
