Very striking 17.2hh 8yr old Registered Irish Draught mare by Scrapman x Crannagh Hero x Grosvenor Lad
Roxy is a real old fashioned stamp of an Irish Draught, leg in each corner and real workman like movement. Shes a big girl with a substantial chest and depth to her.
Foxy was with the last owner from a foal up until last year where unfortunately she grew a lot bigger than expected height, since then she has been with us.
Previously competed in the show ring at county level, proving very mannerly with her judge rides, always in the ribbons and qualified for Royal International on two seperate occasions for two different HW hunter sections (amateur and novice)
Foxy has also competed dressage, with her lovely rhythm and paces she scores well and usually places.
Out hacking she absolutely loves it, she’s bold and brave, she hacks alone or in company and is great in traffic. The more you hack her the more she loves it. She hacks over the M62 and stands at railway crossings. Foxy will cross an open field on the buckle end but also happy to go for a canter without been silly. You can safety ride her every day or once a month and she wouldn’t be silly or naughty.
She’s also happy to pop a fence, although hasn’t done much she jumps XC or poles and enjoys the variance.
Currently living out 24/7 with one other mare, she doesn’t get stressy when brought in alone or when the other one is brought in and she’s left. She’ll also turn out in a herd of mares or come in to her stable over night.
Foxy has no vices and is very easy to catch, load, travel, farrier (shod all round)
Would suit either a hacking home, allrounder/ riding club home or a competitive showing home as she’s happy doing any job.
Lovely big mare (please don’t come and say she’s too big) she is a substantial size of a horse and deserves a home that know how lucky they are to have her
