Very attractive 17hh Warmblood Gelding Corravale x Ricardo Z
Sidney is a lovely horse who is very easy on the ground with no vices, he is a yard favourite and easy to do. He will occasionally rattle the door at feed time. Currently lives on a small family livery yard.
Genuine reason for sale - I am going back to to uni and he is just too big and too much horse for my very novice mother to keep going whilst I am not home.
Currently ridden by 5’3” female, however would benefit from a taller rider.
Sid hacks out alone and in company either being ridden by a novice or myself. He is good to lead from and I often take another horse/large pony out with him.
He prefers to live in with daily turnout, but has happily lived in or out. He is very good for farrier, vet and dentist. Up to date with teeth and vaccines. He is easy to clip, just not keen on his face.
Sid travels and loads onto lorry and trailer and will travel well with or without company. We have taken him out by himself and left him in the trailer with no problem but can’t vouch for him travelling in company and then being left on the box alone.
With his old owner he gained 460BS points, jumping to 120s. Sid is not the most careful so would not excel in pure BS home. They also showed him in working hunter and show hunter classes proving successful.
With us, due to Covid, he’s been unproven in competition but has been working towards elementary dressage (showing further potential with his lateral work) and jumping up to 135cm comfortably in a small school.
We have taken him out cross country schooling and arena XC schooling, which he really enjoyed. He is very bold and not fazed by anything put in front of him, although does need a strong rider to tell him what’s what.
I have taken him hunting twice, he found it fun and wanted to jump everything possible when out. It did take him awhile to calm/settle into it. With more times out I feel he would become a very mannerly hunting horse.
He’s a lovely, fun, versatile allrounder who will be a brilliant horse for someone wanting to do a bit of everything.
He has the potential to move up the levels in dressage or would excel in the show ring.
