Rising 4, Providence has been professionally started and is currently just professionally broken. He has been exceptionally well handled throughout his upbringing and is being offered for sale directly from me, his owner.

A very special horse to our family

We are a small, non-professional family who bought Providence as a future horse for our teenage daughter. Unfortunately, he clearly never received the memo about when to stop growing!

What started out as a horse for our daughter has developed into something rather spectacular. Despite knowing that he would eventually outgrow our original plans for him, we have continued to raise him with exactly the same love, investment and attention that we would have given our ‘forever horse’.

Our priority has always been to give him the best possible start in life — good handling, education, care and consistency throughout those important formative years.

He has grown into a truly magnificent horse: kind, curious, affectionate and full of character.

And, rather unexpectedly, very, very large!

Providence now stands approximately 17.3–18hh and has the presence and power that comes with being such a substantial young horse. He is very aware of his size and can be particularly assertive around food, so his next home must have an experienced, knowledgeable and confident handler who understands young horses of this size and will continue his education with clear, consistent and positive boundaries.

He is a gentle giant, but he is still a young horse learning about the world, and his size means that experienced handling is essential.

The right home is extremely important to us

We will not be selling Providence to just anyone. This is precisely why he is being offered privately rather than placed with a sales yard or auction.

We are prepared to wait for the right person and the right home.

We are looking for someone with the experience, confidence and facilities to continue developing such a large, talented young horse and, ultimately, to realise the enormous potential that we believe he has.

In an ideal world, we would love to stay in touch and receive the occasional update from his new owners. We have invested a huge amount of time, care and love into this horse, and although it is difficult to let him go, there is something incredibly exciting about imagining what his future could hold.

We genuinely cannot wait to see the day when Providence is a fully established ridden horse — we just wish we could be the ones to experience that journey with him.

Honey has been a much-loved member of our family for the past three years, and in that time she has truly done it all. A very sad sale of a much loved horse owned for over 4 years. As an older rider I feel Darcy is too big for me and I now need something smaller. Darcy would benefit going back to a more active, competitive home, similar to the one when I bought her. I feel she is wasted with me and not used to her full potential.

We have attended riding club for pole clinics and dressage lessons. Always well behaved. Mainly used for hacking and weekly schooling lessons.

Absolutely adores jumping, but I no longer jump. Two of my friends have taken her jumping at Bicton and both say she is great to jump and very honest to fences. Can be strong but not silly.

Damsire Mackey Hill grade A show jumper.

Hacks confidently in company, on her own needs reassurance from her rider and prefers a wide birth with large vehicles and farm machinery.

Does become mareish at times, but nothing nasty. Does have her own opinion, like most mares but short lived with a firm hand.

We have made the difficult decision to sell our gorgeous 'Sir Gareth'. We've had the pleasure of owning him for almost 5 years but sadly now my son is going away for his final year at Uni and I work every weekend, we won't have enough time for him. By the very fashionable Future Gravitas (by the legendary Grafenstoltz, WBFSH No 1 Ranked Sire of Eventers 2020; Sire of Badminton 3 x winner Lordships Graffalo), International Event Horse, British Dressage National Championship Finalist and sire of International eventers and Supreme Showing Champions. The Grafenstolotz progeny are proving themselves time and again at the highest level of elite Eventing. Grafenstoltz was the most represented eventing sire at Badminton 2026 for the third consecutive year.

On her dams side, Gravity has a proven bloodline as her half brother (by Pennineview Bee Spritely, 3*, son of Pennineview Silver Concorde 4*) who was home bred and produced, competed at the 6yo championships with double clears at BE Novice.
