Julian Mincher Equestrian is proud to offer for sale Double M Liberty (“Mac”), a striking and athletic 5-year-old 16.2hh bay gelding bred by the renowned Double M Stud. Mac is a beautifully put-together horse with exceptional presence, excellent conformation, and an eye-catching way of going — a true standout wherever he goes.
Exceptional Breeding:
Mac is out of Jasmin, our cherished foundation mare whose progeny have consistently excelled, including winners at 1.40m level. Jasmin is by Up To Date, a proven sire of elite showjumpers.
His sire is the exceptional Waldo Van Dungen (173cm, Grade A), known for producing top sport horses in both show jumping and eventing.
Bloodlines include:
- Tolano van ’t Riethof (Chin Chin) × Concorde
- Notable offspring include Ellen Whitaker’s Arena UK Winston and Oli Fletcher’s Hello William.
With his pedigree and build, Mac has the potential to succeed in any competitive sphere — from eventing or show jumping to working hunter or even dressage or American hunter classes.
Education & Temperament:
• Started under saddle earlier this year, as we prefer to allow our homebreds time to physically and mentally mature.
• Exceptionally trainable and willing, Mac has taken everything in his stride from day one.
• Straightforward to ride, not spooky, and shows an excellent attitude in all aspects of his work.
On the flat, he works in a lovely rhythm and frame, and would not look out of place in a dressage or hunter ring.
Jumping & XC Potential:
• Recently introduced to jumping and already competing in British Novice classes on a ticket — confidently jumping double clears.
• Bold and uncomplicated both at home and in the ring — he takes new environments in his stride.
• Cross-country schooling has revealed a natural flair for the job — bold, scopey, and enjoying every minute.
Personality & Suitability:
- Mac has a genuine and affectionate personality — he loves attention, fuss, and even a bath!
- He hacks confidently alone and in company, with access to excellent off-road hacking at our base on the London/Essex border (we do not ride on roads).
Although very straightforward, he is still green due to his age and is therefore not suitable for a novice or complete amateur. He is ready to be produced further by a competent rider looking for a quality, unspoilt young horse.
