Utara Star — “Ruby”

Utara Star, affectionately known as Ruby, is a lovely young mare with an exceptionally kind and genuine temperament. She is an absolute pleasure to have around and is a real “do everything” type of horse.

Ruby is super loving and affectionate and absolutely loves a big fuss. She is incredibly easy in every aspect of her day-to-day life — easy to box, load, travel, clip and shoe and very straightforward to deal with at home and at shows.

Under saddle, Ruby is not strong or difficult, but she is a buzzy, athletic horse who enjoys her job and likes to take you to a fence. She is naturally very quick and competitive against the clock, with an easy-to-adjust stride and is super easy to turn, making her a particularly exciting horse for anyone wanting to be competitive.

She is also extremely genuine and forgiving, taking a miss and looking after her rider. She has a fantastic attitude towards jumping and always wants to please.

Ruby is by the legendary Big Star and evented earlier in her career, giving her a lovely all-round foundation. She is still young and has not been overproduced or done a huge amount, leaving plenty of scope for the right rider to develop her further.

Bliss has been produced professionally but carefully with an utterly outstanding BE record. She ranked in top 100 horses 2025 for number of wins in a season. (Only blip on her record was where we jumped the wrong first fence, the 100 instead of 90 so technically eliminated). She is an elegant looking blood type but has a temperament to die for. She is so so easy to manage at home and away on your own. An angel to hack, also being good in traffic. She doesn’t need much warm up for dressage and doesn’t need riding every day. She’s such quality to look at, performs superbly in every phase, but has an easy care nature for such a well bred competition horse. She is forward going to ride and travels across the ground, although snaffle mouthed in every phase. So if you like to feel as if you’re on a quality event horse she fits the bill. She would also suit being a therapy horse as she just LOVES to be loved and cuddled all day long!

Due to her unique blend of temperament and quality we feel she would be a grassroots dream. She really has the ability to go and win at badminton and be somebody’s dream horse.

Benny is a handsome 16.1hh bay Warmblood gelding with exceptional breeding. He is by the legendary Cornet Obolensky out of an Argentinus mare.

His full sibling, Pepper van het Oosthof, competes successfully at 1.60m Grand Prix level with Dutch international rider Doron Kuipers, highlighting the quality of this outstanding family.

Benny was purchased directly from his breeder at auction as a yearling and brought to the UK. He was professionally backed as a four-year-old but has never been campaigned in British Showjumping, instead enjoying a varied, low-pressure life.

He has three active, correct paces, a quality canter and a lovely, trainable attitude.

Benny schools beautifully on the flat, does his changes, is snaffle-mouthed and responsive off the leg. He came to me this season as he was wasted as his rider left to go do her finals.

Simon is a very talented horse, his showjumping is his weakest phase.

This is mainly because he lacks focus and milage at big events. Not because he isn’t careful. I believe with a winter of showjumping he will massively improve.

Talented enough to go back up the levels.

Simon is a forward thinking ride so not for a Novice.

He isn’t strong as goes in mainly a snaffle.

Loves work and is better the more he gets.

Would suit keen teenager/amateur to get some experience on or Tet horse as his XC is unreal.

Would be happy to keep the ride and see what we could do together.

Owners had him 6 years, so Simon finding his perfect home is key for them.

I have had Ivory since she was a yearling. She hasn’t been rushed or over done. She has spent most of her time in the field so that she could develop into the strong mare she is now.

I lightly lunged and long reined her in February this year. I sat up on her, walked and trotted her around the school. She had time away and I brought her back in July. She has not done masses of schoolwork. She has lovely balanced paces.

She is great on the road but hasn’t seen much heavy traffic.

She’s finding her feet over poles and I have loose jumped her over 60cm.

I threw Ivory in the deep end with her first outing. In-hand pally class at the local county show. She didn’t bat an eye lid at anything around her and was foot perfect. I took her in the trailer on my own and she was a pleasure to do.

She did get a little impatient when first arriving but having near heard a tannoy or any show-like sounds.

I then took her to a dressage competition, trailered her on my own, tacked up and straight into an indoor arena with other horses warming in. Again, neither of these are things that she has seen or experience; she warmed in like a pro and wasn’t spooky with the white boards or judge car.

She is my absolute world, if I had the time I wouldn’t even consider selling her. I know that she will be a winning machine in any discipline which her breeding backs up.

She is not fussed that I pick her up and put her down when I don’t have time. She can go weeks on end and she still has the same laid back character.

She’s great in open spaces. She’s amazing to travel and load.

She is up to date with shoes, teeth etc

Her only downfall is that she can be a little bit ignorant on the ground. But she is a big mare and I put this down to my lack of consistency with her.

Ivory struggles most with left canter as she tends to fall out through the right, but this is my own fault for lack of consistency and schoolwork.

She has got the best brain I’ve ever come across, ivory is trainable and a fast learner. She is ready to go into training ready for a winter / spring campaign

She is open to vetting.

This lovely horse switched from BE to BD in the summer 2025, immediately gaining regional and national qualifications at elementary level.

He has only switched to dressage as this is what he loves and no longer enjoys the XC aspect of eventing following an injury in 2024 which is fully healed & has no impact on his ability or soundness.

He has been owned by the same family over the last 8 years & produced & competed by both daughters from their early teens who have trained all the way through with first Ian Woodhead and for the last 6 years Tracy Woodhead

He has correct elastic paces, straight uphill movement is currently training at Medium and has started learning canter pirouettes.

Simba has a loving affectionate personality & adores attention. He is easy to handle & used to travelling long distances & staying away. He is happy on his own or with a full lorry.

Simba adores hacking both alone & in company.

The decision to sell Simba has not been easy. He is utterly loved adored & wanted but we need to do what is best for him. We are an eventing family & his 17 year old rider is in her first year of A levels & has several Eventers to compete & she simply doesn’t have time to do him justice at the moment & he deserves to be somebody’s number 1.

He is sound, well & ready to go. He does not require any medical maintenance.

We will only consider selling him to an experienced 5* home & the right rider. He is a gentle soul & will be best suited to a quiet competitive rider who will love & enjoy him.
