May is a lovely non mareish mare who happily in or out.

To ride:
We are not selling May as a riding horse but she can be ridden. She is a forward going mare who you can have lots of fun on. However, in the summer she can headshake. We have gone down every route for her but cannot seem to help her get much better. Some days she would go with the odd shake, other days she would get really wound up and paw at the ground. She has the occasional spook but nothing too abnormal. In the winter time she is a lot better to ride, but because of this we do not want to sell her labelled as a riding horse.

May has driven before we got her, often pulling wedding carriages in her past. She has also had a foal before so could make a good broodmare/surrogate mare again. She also leads really nicely on a ride.

She is a mare that when you spend time with and build that bond she does love fuss and attention.

Good to shoe and for dentist, good to clip but not in a rush.

We are looking for a forever home for May, sadly she has become a horse not suited for what we intended her to be. Please do contact us for more information.

WhatsApp a message at any time, please no phonecalls after 6pm

Beautiful 2014 grey Irish mare standing at a full up 14.3hh.

This super girl rides and drives, she is absolutely brilliant in the heaviest and busiest of traffic, isn’t bothered by buzzy or chaotic environments, she’s as cool as a cucumber and always remains completely confidence giving.

Angel is a beautiful, hard to find stamp, a good model and would excel in the show ring, she moves beautifully and she’s a big solid mare, able to carry the weightiest of riders, she massively takes up the leg and she is extremely comfortable, she has a rocking horse canter and would happily tolerate a novice.

Angel is anyone’s ride, she’s easy, fun and laid back.

A real solid mare who drives well in heavy traffic, and hacks out as well as she drives.

She will happily pop over coloured and rustic fences, always wanting to please and take care of her jockey.

A sweet and trustworthy girl in the yard, she will stand to be groomed and loved. Open to any vet or trainer, this girl is hard to find

DO YOU HAVE A HORSE OR PONY SUITABLE FOR THE RDA?

WANTED ON LONG TERM LOAN / PURCHASE

Ref #: 249896
  • If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below
  • If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below

One of the main issues that RDA groups face is finding an Equine to suit the needs of the participants in their group.

We are regularly contacted with offers of Equines that are ‘the ideal RDA horse or pony’ when actually what is ideal for one group may not be for the next. We are trying to move away from the stereotypical view that RDA Equines are elderly and somewhat static, our horses and ponies need to be fit, healthy and athletic to cope with the lifestyle in an RDA group.

They can range from smaller, forward going ponies to weight carrying cobs and can take part in a range of disciplines from Riding to Carriage Driving, Vaulting to Show Jumping and Endurance.

If you contact an RDA Group about your Equine please be prepared to fill in an Equine Initial Interest Form which will ask you many questions about your horses’ temperament, health history, experience and lifestyle. Many groups will prefer to have an equine on trial to make sure they are suitable for the job.

For long term loans and purchases they will also be required to have a Pre-Purchase Examination.

If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below.

Gorgeous 2018 dun Irish mare standing at a full up 14.3hh. This super girl is a brilliant stamp and model, such a leg in each corner / weight carrier type, with the most sane and sensible head on her.

Buttons is a kind girl, she will stand for hours to be groomed, laid back and easy, she loves people and has the sweetest nature.

She has three established and comfortable paces in the school, she’s super safe, rides off the voice and will put up with someone learning, or a nervous rider, a very genuine mare.

Buttons is wonderful to hack, she is absolutely bombproof in traffic, isn’t bothered by heavy vehicles, chaotic environments, fast moving vehicles etc, she will go in front or behind and is happy to go out alone and in company, a happy hackers dream but enough quality to show.

A beautiful safe girl, hard to find with the same stamp and colour, open to any vet or trainer

Molly was purchased earlier this year for carriage driving with our RDA Driving group.

She completed all the necessary training but unfortunately is too quick for RDA work.

She has been a pleasure to drive. She lunges and long reins very well, including pole work

She is also being reintroduced to ridden work and is progressing very well, showing a lot of promise now.

She is not for a novice and needs experienced and sympathetic hands.

Molly has a lot of potential but could equally be a fun pony just to hack or drive out.

She has been a wonderful pony to work with , full of character, responsive and good natured.

She is good to handle, shoe, load and travel. Teeth and vaccinations up to date.

6 year old, 15.1hh beautiful cob Mare

Fantastic show cob prospect, always bringing home the rosettes with lovely comments from judges.

Broken to ride at rising 5 by myself and my then 7 year old daughter.
Has previously been driven over in Ireland where she originally came from
Had a foal at 3 (was bought in foal) foaled unexpectedly in the field with no complications, was a fantastic mother!!
Up to date with teeth, chiro, vaccinations, worming etc
As close to bombproof as they come in all traffic!
Stands quietly for the farrier.
Loads and travels like a donkey.
Hacks alone and in company, will wait when others canter off.
Never fizzy or silly but walks out nicely.
Handled and ridden by children and riders of all sizes and abilities.
Has been to shows and funrides, xc schooling and arena hires. Isn’t going to be a world beater jumping but will give it her best shot!
Never sick or sorry!!
Can happily live in or out, alone or with mares and geldings, currently in a mixed herd of all shapes and sizes!
Easy to catch.
Generally an all round easy mare to keep, handle and ride by all ages and abilities!
Not mareish in the slightest

Bad points -
She can pull faces, absolutely does not mean them and is still the sweetest mare!

I am selling on behalf of my mother who has decided to give up riding for health reasons! This is an incredibly hard decision and she will only go to the best of homes.

Open to any inspection/vetting

  • Has been driven and has a full 4x4 flying trot.
  • Loves to show jump with no fears or issues

Joey is a Stepping Cob (Lucky Shamrock)/Friesian (Tilly Trotter) 7 year old gelding. 15.2 hh approx, super intelligent and strong as an ox.

We bred Joey and still own his mother, so we know all of Joey's history from birth. He was backed to be a riding and driving horse but the driving training has not been maintained so although he has been driven this would have to be retrained.

He has an amazing 4x4 trot and loves jumping, he is as bold as brass, no filler or water tray can put this horse off jumping.

Our intention was to show him in hand but Covid and family illness limited time for training.

He has been to boot camp for riding due to lack of use but is now in regular work. He requires a confident, experienced rider to give him the time and attention he needs.

With the right person he will be an exhilarating ride and a wonderful companion.

Joey has no problems with farrier, vet or travelling. He is on a livery yard in South West Lincolnshire, not far from Newark, and we would prefer for him to stay there.

This is a great opportunity to join a yard that normally has a substantial waiting list. The yard holds many competitions and social events throughout the year and has a reputation for excellent training and friendship.

Joey is a valuable horse and he is a loan with a view to buy with a minimum of a 3 month loan. He has some quirks which will be explained at the viewing which is why we would prefer to loan first to make sure of the perfect match.

Someone will be very lucky to own Joey, he is an affectionate, talented boy with brain and lots of engine, but he does come with his quirks that need to be seriously considered.

The video was Joey’s first time in the grass arena and also his first time jumping a full course.

If you feel you are a candidate to spend lots of time with this boy please give us a call and we can chat further about all you need to know.

Please no dealers, novices or time wasters, we have a huge interest in Joey's welfare and making sure this boy gets the right forever home.

Good to load and travel. Currently unshod with nice feet and is good with the farrier. Will live on his own or with a friend.

Registered well bred Belgian Draft horse. Rising 2 years old. Expected to reach over 16.2hh - he’s a very solid boy with chunky legs and heaps of gorgeous dreamy coat mane and tail.

As quiet and easy as any horse can be. Such a pet - very loving temperament.

Gentle, handled by all family members including children. Turned out with other horses, happy to live out.

He has seen vehicles and farm machinery, other farm animals. He will be fantastic riding or driving horses in the future - so easy to do.

We have sold many young draft horses to beginners and novice homes. Create your own perfect horse your own way - it’s ever so rewarding.

LIVERY is available for as long as needed (please ask for details). We can hold them until an occasion or Christmas if required.
