- WITHOUT DOUBT A SERIOUS HOYS CONTENDER FOR THE FUTURE
Sassy is an outstanding, quality, traditional mare with exceptional breeding. She is by Liz Wright’s traditional coloured stallion, The Scoundrel and is out of Farwinds Frivolity. Not only a fantastic ridden prospect, she will be an asset to any breeding programme as she is HOMOZYGOUS and guaranteed to throw colour.
Owned by me since a foal, she has been lightly shown and has had a fantastic in-hand career, being virtually unbeaten, regularly beating the plaited’s and standing champion at county level. Judges regularly comment on just how correct she is.
Some of her results include:
2021: Yearling
CHAPS SW: 1st & Champion Youngstock & 1st Reserve Supreme of Show
CHAPS CHAMPS: 1st Premium Youngstock Evaluation & 1st & Reserve Champion Youngstock
2022: 2 Year Old

Bath & West: 1st Open 2 Year Old & Reserve Champion
Royal Cornwall: 1st Open 2 Year Old, 1st Open NCT & Reserve Champion
Devon County: 1st Open 2/3 Year Old and Overall Champion Coloured
2023:
Chaps SW: 1st Open NCT & Reserve Champion
Bath & West: 1st Open 3 Year Od & 1st Open NCT
Royal Cornwall: 1st Open 3 Year Old & 1st Open NCT & Reserve Champion
She was professionally backed last September, proving to be extremely easy, and then came home to ride on for a few weeks before being turned away and given some time to mature. She has now been back in ridden work for 4 weeks and is happily hacking out both on her own and in company and she has just been introduced to the school (as and when weather permits).
Sassy has absolutely no vices, she is an extremely affectionate, kind mare who wants to please and is good in every possible way, hacks alone and in company, is good in traffic, 100% to bath, clip, shoe, load, turns out alone and in company. Far too many good points to list.
Someone’s dream pony, now ready to go out and make a start on her ridden career. A fantastic prospect for the new Junior class at HOYS.
Can be seen and tried in Wedmore, Somerset.
