4 years old 15hh heavy cob with hair and feather to die for…

He’s been backed and was hacked and got to see the world abit and been left to grow and mature. He’s VERY intelligent and an absolute dream to own and has so much character. He has very athletic paces with a real can do attitude and would excel in a dressage/showing home!

He’s seen ALL farm machinery and chaos on the farm including cows and hairy cows with horns which he just wants to be friends with. He needs a little bit of encouragement loading but that’s due to not doing so much but once he’s on the box he’s a pro and travels like a dream!

He went to puddledub spring show in hand and was a total showman and wasn’t bothered about anything going on around him happily munched grass in the collecting ring watching the world go by.

He’s good with the vet, been seen by the dentist regularly and doesn’t need sedated and getting better with farrier for his trims!

Serious enquiries only and can send more pictures and videos of him on request.

Located in Inverness with easy access to the A9 with various horse transporters passing weekly

Tilly

Tilly (Big Lil) is our much loved rising 4yr old Irish cob mare, she’s stood 15h still with a bit of growth to do, to make 15.1h.

Tilly was bred in Ireland, I have pics of sire and dam, both chunky Irish cobs. She was broken to ride and drive 6 months ago and is now a super all round cob, very quiet, well mannered and sweet natured.

She has an old head on young shoulders, has been a confidence giver for nervous rider the past couple of months. She has mainly hacked due to age, has seen lots of traffic, hacked round estates and on main roads as well as fields and bridle paths.

Has been in the school a few times for basic walk trot canter, more woah than go type but isn’t a total plod either. She tries very hard to please and is very sweet.

Five star family is paramount, we’d love to keep in touch with her! She’s very special to us and would have to go a long way to find one as good as her again.

Loads and travels like a gem, I can take her out on my own and know she will be sensible, stands on the box etc fine. Good with other horses, to catch handle etc, has driven previously.

Staffordshire based, can deliver anywhere

Bobby is a lovely 2 year old (born 2023) Irish cob gelding, currently standing at 13.2hh and still growing. He has the sweetest temperament, he’s kind, friendly, easy to have around, and is a real people pony. He has plenty of bone and still has a lot of growing and maturing left to do, he should make a very chunky 14/14.1hh.

He’s good to catch, lead, load, and tie up on the yard. He enjoys being groomed and fussed over, picks up his feet, and has even been bathed which he took in his stride.

Bobby lives in or out, gets on well in a mixed herd, and has no lumps, bumps, sarcoids, or vices.

He’s a lovely blank canvas and would be a nice straightforward project for someone to bring on and play with.

Full Irish Draught Standing at approx 16.2 hh, 5 years. Breeding - by Devils Punchbowl (Crannagh Hero) out of a Westmeathe Lad Dam.

Red has been professionally backed and bought on slowly, trained using natural horsemanship methods. Time and care has been taken to give him the best possible start in his ridden life.

I am looking to see if I can find a kind, experienced home for him, selling him from the field, if not he will go to a reputable sales livery where his price will increase. Previous experience of dealing with large green horses is essential. He is a fabulous horse but is very green and not the bravest. That said he is such a quick learner and once he is familiar with things he is Mr Chill.
Groundwork: Red has done lots of natural horsemanship groundwork, flag training and been walked out in hand both alone and in company. He has started some in hand lateral work. He has been introduced to traffic and needs to continuewith this. He enjoys his groundwork and is the type of horse you can build a strong connection with and he will do anything for you.

Ridden: Red can walk, trot and canter in the arena and is calm doing this also in an open grass field. He has done plenty of pole work including some raised poles. He has started some lateral work under saddle. He has hacked out a few timesunder saddle across quiet bridleways to build his confidence. He isn’t the type that needs riding every day – far from it. You can very much pick up and put him down. He is snaffle mouthed at all times. He is so easy to tack up it is like tacking up grandmas horse!

Lifestyle: Red will happily live in and out. Like most horses his preference is to be out but he isn’t the type to get silly. As long as he has food he is happy. He is a hardy Irish type and lives on fresh air! He doesn’t need masses of rugging and is really low maintenance. He is great in all weathers.

Handling: Red is easy to handle, easy to worm, good for farrier, easy to tack up etc. He always comes up to you in the field. He will turn out on his own, with geldings and with mares. He is a friendly inquisitive young horse. He loves a groom and a pamper and he absolutely loves a hose down/ bath! I haven’t ever clipped him. He is a quiet horse to have on the yard.

Travelling: I bought Red direct from Ireland and when first arrived over he was very nervous to travel. We have done lots of practice and he loads like a pro but I do just give me a touch of sedalin to travel to keep building the positive experiences for him. Without the sedalin he just takes about half an hour to settle but simply paws and whinnies. He travels in a 3.5 box without the partition. He travels very well on his own with a haynet. He hasn’t ever been in a trailer.

Feet: He has good feet and I have kept him barefoot. He has some hoof boots for his fronts if you have particularly stoney ground / gravel then I put these on.
Vet: Red is up to date with vaccinations, worming, dentist and is a good doer. The only time I’ve had the vet (other than vaccs) is to treat some sarcoids that came up after he arrived from Ireland as a 3 year old. He had two small sarcoids on the underside of his tummy, they didn’t rub or interfere with anything but I decided to have them lasered so they were gone. No further problems or issues since.

Personality: Red is a typical inquisitive young Irish Draught with a gentle personality. He will thrive in a one to one home, bonding with his new person. Everyone who meets him loves him and he will be leaving behind quite a fan club. Generally he is very calm but of course he has his young horse moments and I want to be confident that his new person can handle these.

Type of Home: I am looking for a kind, knowledgeable new owner for Red who has experience of bringing on a young horse. He needs someone confident but not fierce – ideally someone who also has some horsemanship experience. The basics are there and now he needs to get out and see the world. He would be happy being a happy hacker, family horse or riding club type. He likes company but he’s not a clingytype. I am not too proud to admit that my health issues have caused me to loose confidence with horses and I am not able to give a young horse the reassurance and guidance they need. It would bring me so much joy to see Red thriving and loved in a knowledgeable home. I would love to keep in contact as he is very special to me.

As mentioned, as it stands I am selling him from the field so please don’t expect to come and ride him. Of course you are more than welcome to come and meet and spend time with him. For this reason I may be open to LWVTB depending on circumstances. Please do not hesitate to ask me any questions no matter how small I am happy to answer.

FOR SALE – “Frieda” – Rising 3yo Mare (15.2hh, to make approx. 16.2hh):

Frieda is a striking, kind-natured rising three-year-old mare with three balanced, expressive paces and excellent potential as an all-rounder.

She is good with the farrier, loads and travels well, and is very accustomed to vehicles and machinery, regularly exposed to tractors, dirt bikes, and diggers without concern.

Well-handled and affectionate, she enjoys human interaction and has a willing, intelligent temperament.

While she can occasionally be a little bolshy, this is simply due to her age and inexperience, and with continued consistent handling she will mature into a lovely, well-mannered horse.

A genuine and sad sale due to lack of grazing; an experienced, knowledgeable home is essential.
