Absolutely lovely luso mare searching for her forever home. Selling on behalf of her breeder. She’s been with me for two years as a companion to my mare, being educated and living a farm life!

She has a good knowledge of all her lateral work in all paces, is playing with half pass and flying changes, and collection. Loose schools and would be great at liberty work. Lunge, long rein and in hand classical education literate also. She works in the arena and in the field, hacks alone and in company. She has done a few unaff dressage comps and won each time, hence she’s ready to go proper public if so wished.

She is true to the luso breed and has some sport in her so could possibly do working equitation with the right rider.

She would suit an athletic young rider or competitive sporty leisure rider. She has character and needs to express it in order to bring the best of herself out. When she’s at a comp she really switches on to the job.

She has not been over worked in her life, so is strong of limb and sound of heart.

Price very negotiable.

DO YOU HAVE A HORSE OR PONY SUITABLE FOR THE RDA?

WANTED ON LONG TERM LOAN / PURCHASE

Ref #: 249896
  • If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below
  • If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below

One of the main issues that RDA groups face is finding an Equine to suit the needs of the participants in their group.

We are regularly contacted with offers of Equines that are ‘the ideal RDA horse or pony’ when actually what is ideal for one group may not be for the next. We are trying to move away from the stereotypical view that RDA Equines are elderly and somewhat static, our horses and ponies need to be fit, healthy and athletic to cope with the lifestyle in an RDA group.

They can range from smaller, forward going ponies to weight carrying cobs and can take part in a range of disciplines from Riding to Carriage Driving, Vaulting to Show Jumping and Endurance.

If you contact an RDA Group about your Equine please be prepared to fill in an Equine Initial Interest Form which will ask you many questions about your horses’ temperament, health history, experience and lifestyle. Many groups will prefer to have an equine on trial to make sure they are suitable for the job.

For long term loans and purchases they will also be required to have a Pre-Purchase Examination.

If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below.

£5,500 OIRO

  • Gelding
  • 11 years

  • Jet a super black cob gelding
  • All Rounder
Jet is an ideal low level all rounder or a quiet horse for someone. He will take anything in his stride.

Jet was bought as a first pony for a competent rider and for a family to learn on and he has done just the job.

He is soft in the mouth, never strong and ridden in a snaffle. He isn’t spooky and will give confidence to anyone wanting to take him on.

Jet is currently based on a very busy yard and is turned out over night in the summer and stabled during the winter so he can live in or out. He has been used as an all rounder as he has competed in show jumping (low level) and has attended riding clubs and various clinics, he has also been on farm rides. He has plenty of schooling and is in regular work.

Jet can be a stubborn ride if he is allowed however when told will do what you ask. On the ground Jet requires patience and a competent owner as he can be stubborn but again once told he will comply.

Jet hasn’t done any hacking with us as he hasn’t needed too due to being stabled on a competition yard with various indoor and outdoor arenas. He has hacked with his previous owner.

He would enjoy a varied life with a competent child or small adult who wants to learn to ride. He is ready and available for viewings, he passed a 5-stage vetting in September 23 but open to be vetted again.

Jet is barefoot, up to date with vaccinations, teeth, and farrier.

Comes with part wardrobe and tack negotiable. More pictures and videos available via WhatsApp - 07530 868191

Tomi

4 years old section D gelding. Tomi is home bred and home produced. He has been produced slowly, mainly by my two young daughters age 11 and 14.

He is a laidback and chilled pony. Ideal allrounder. Dont get put off by his age. He is very quiet and well behaved for his young age.

Good with farrier (shod in fronts) good to catch, groom and great hacker. Good in traffic. We live on farm so he is used to farm machinery, sheep and cows.

He would be a great family share pony, happy hacker or even pony club. Recently attended pony club group lesson and behaved very well.

Good stable manners. My daughters tack him up and take him on hacks on their own. He does not kick or bite.

He is a quick learner.

Lots of pictures and videos available.

Prince is a very sweet cob that is a pure joy to be around with his cheekiness. He has a loveable cheeky character who can always put a smile on your face. He is very easy to train, thriving when given new challenges by taking everything in his stride and not being fazed. He loves a variety of work but excels out hacking and is very safe in the heaviest of traffic. Prince loads and travels well and is very well behaved in new environments.

Excellent to handle and pleasure to be with due to his inquisitive nature. Relaxed in a stable with other horses around or on his own. He currently lives out 24/7 in summer with limited grazing (his natural build makes him susceptible to laminitis) and is stabled at night in winter. Sociable with other horses in the field and does not stress when left.

He is great to clip and has his legs clipped regularly, very well behaved for the farrier, vet, dentist, physio.

Up to date with all vaccinations, teeth and feet.

Does have a sarcoid on his sheath, this causes him no problems and has not changed in the year and a half that we have owned him. We have chosen to leave it alone and have been monitoring it.

My eleven year old daughter has previously spent days out at riding club events were he would take part in a variety of different activities like jumping (course of approx. 40cm), pony games, dressage and cross country.
Suitable as a second ridden with a child that is not nervous and could help continue his education by offering him a variety of riding activities.

Currently he is being hacked out by a petite adult and concentrating on groundwork to help him develop. He has been doing a range of groundwork activities excelling in his lateral movements.

Would suit a small petite adult that is looking for a pony to take to dressage or a capable child/teenager who can continue his education and take him to a wide range of activities. I believe he would suit any discipline as he is always wanting to please and nothing asked of him ever fazes him.

We don't believe Prince is suitable for a complete beginner as he can put a buck in with a handsy rider. Prince is not suitable for a nervous rider with a tight grip.

We would love to see Prince's next home provide him with an experienced rider who can bring on his education further and develop him into an allrounder. With the right home we believe Prince could really be star quality, already showing great potential on the flat and a keenness to jump. His nature will make him a great fun competition pony as his adaptability, calmness and charisma makes trips out fun and enjoyable.

Handsome RC / Low level dressage horse

Ref #: 346030

£7,500 ONO
  • Irish
  • Black
  • Gelding
  • 6 years
  • 14.3 hands
  • Fantastic affectionate temperament
  • Regularly competed BD quest at prelim
  • Done all RC activities

Murphy came over from Ireland as a 2 year old. I bought him as a just turned 3 year old and have brought him on gently over the last 3 years. This last year we have regularly competed in dressage (including BD quest) at prelim level (averages around 67%) and has completed his first novice test this month (scored 66+%).

Murphy has a lovely personality, absolutely adores attention and cuddles. Will stand for hours to be groomed and fussed with.

Murphy is safe in traffic and open spaces. Is used to farm machinery. Good to hack on own and with others.

To school, Murphy is a dream. Really willing to learn, wants to please and tries his hardest. He has three established paces with a good contact in all three. Does know basic lateral work. He is a little powerhouse but is respectful. I have jumped him 80cm at home and competed 70 cm sj and xc where he has shown potential but he is green with jumping as it isn't my discipline.

Murphy does like to be kept busy and loves to work and have fun! He would be ideal for a teenager/small adult that would like to compete regularly, and where he would be kept in regular work. Has done all RC activities including camp where he absolutely shone. Will stand in a stable or outside lorry at competitions and doesn't bat an eye.

Good doer, lives on a balancer. Barefoot at the moment and copes well. Snaffle mouthed.
Amazing to clip, good to load, good for farrier.

Only for sale due to my focus changing to dressage and busy work schedule. He will be a horse of a lifetime for someone.

Not a novice ride as is still young and can be mouthy when he wants attention.

Not an easy sale so please no timewasters. Please WhatsApp or text as phone calls will not be picked up during day.
