Family Friends: Ponies

Fun PC/RC allrounder sporty cob

Ref #: 415198
  • Will be your best friend
  • Enjoys a party!
  • Rarely comes away without a ribbon.
£10,000
  • Cob
  • Dark bay
  • Gelding
  • 11 years
  • 14.3hh / 150cm
  • Will be your best friend
  • Enjoys a party!
  • Rarely comes away without a ribbon.

Ozzie has been the most perfect partner for my daughter since she was 12, both starting off green in the horse world and growing together over the last 3 years. Has the most lovable character and is only for sale as she now wants to concentrate on school and other teenage activities.

Has done a bit of everything……ODE’s, SJ, XC, Dressage, teamchasing and is your ultimate low level allrounder. Comfortable competing up to 80cm but has done 90/100 schooling at home. Adores XC and would make a fantastic hunting partner as stands like a rock when out at a party.

Although he has been a great teenagers horse, he requires a rider not a passenger. He is a typical cob, and given an inch he takes a mile. He is at his best when in varied regular work and likes to go out as much as possible. Hacks well in company and will hack alone but requires more confidence from his rider when not with friends.

Loads well, easy to clip, barefoot and lives on fresh air. Could live out if desired, happiest in a herd but is currently in individual paddock.

Up to date with saddle fit, chiro, teeth and vaccs due October.

Passed a 5 stage vetting 3 years ago with a couple of minor points-happy to discuss on enquiry.

Does suffer with sweet itch but managed well with the injection and staying covered up.

Will come with tack and full wardrobe.

Ideal new home would be with a competent teenager or small adult who will take him out regularly to PC/RC/shows etc as this is what he loves to do. We really don’t want to let him go as we adore him but we can’t keep them all! New owner must be prepared to stay in touch.

Plenty more videos available on request.

  • Actively looking for the best Pony Club ponies
  • Some fabulous knowledgeable homes waiting
  • No fees for sellers

I have motivated clients looking for genuine, kind, quality and proven ponies to take part in all Pony Club activities.

The ponies I would love to hear about are those not needing to be advertised to secure a new home. There is no harm in finding out whether I know of a better home and match. Perhaps you worry about your child finding it upsetting seeing their old pony regularly at rallies etc - then selling out of area could be a better solution.

These are motivated buyers receiving guidance as to what will likely suit their child - not the timewasters regularly reported. In most cases homes are also knowledgeable: simply lacking in time to conduct a search themselves. Most will also wait for the right pony so if you are not ready to sell yet - that is not an issue.

There are some decent budgets available relative to age and medical conditions etc.

All leads will be handled with discretion. Please feel free to give me a call, drop me a WhatsApp or check out my Instagram page @theponysearchagent

Stunning coloured cob

Ref #: 415163

£5,500 inc VAT
  • Cob
  • Piebald
  • Mare
  • 6 years
  • 14.3hh / 150cm
  • Fantastic temperament
  • Riding well for her age
  • Good to do in all ways

Nellie is a beautiful 14.3/15hh evenly marked coloured cob mare. She is 6years old and only broken in, in April and is now riding away very well. She’s been started late due to her having a foal at an early age and left to mature.

She has exceptional manner on the ground, fantastic around children. She will stand for hours being groomed/bathed. She also stands perfectly to have her legs clipped.

Nellie has been professional backed, iv mainly been hacking her out and riding in the fields. She hack’s alone or in company and is proving good in traffic. She can be a little spooky at times but i think this is only due to her low milage. Nellie is good in open spaces and will go for a canter without getting strong or silly. She is still very green to school but can walk trot canter around the school, her canter is extremely green still. She’s also popped the odd fence but hasn’t done a lot of jumping. She is aways very safe and time off doesn’t seem to make a difference to her.

Currently turned out in a mixed herd

Barefoot

I think she would make somebody the perfect happy hacker/low level all rounder and has the right attitude to go hunting.

I will like Nellie to go to a kind loving knowledgeable home, ready for someone to put there on stamp on her. Due to her only

Just being backed, I don’t think she would be suitable for a completely beginner/novice rider.

Lots of video on request, serious enquires only

Quality piebald mare

Ref #: 396569
  • Forward going, sensible hack

  • Equal Woah and Go
£8,500 ONO

  • Mare
  • 13 years
  • 14.3hh / 150cm
  • Forward going, sensible hack
  • Owned and bred by us, so full knowledge
  • Equal Woah and Go

We have bred and owned Mulligan all her life. She has always been super easy to do, so much so, shes always the one who gets left, and not ridden. Whilst I find her super easy, and if anything, I like it when shes not been ridden for a month and is a little fresh, we have had a few try her and found her too forward for them.

There is no need to kick on this mare, leg on means go. She marchs in walk and trots out, keeping up with any horse. She loves a canter across the fields and tracks, but pulls up easy in a snaffle.

Personally I find circles in an arena boring, (plus we don’t have an arena) so we do not do it. If you want a dressage horse, you will need to put the work in, as our idea of fun is hacking. However she has been to dressage and show jump shows with a friend many years ago, so the buttons will still be there, its up to you if you want them, and if so you might need to re program.

Her forte is hacking, heavy traffic is no issue, gates she’s a pro, she’s safe in open spaces, she goes first or last, and is confident on her own.

You can ride and lead her, or from her, so super easy.

She is a unit, i’m 5ft6 and she takes up my leg, and some, I’ve never felt too big for her. Shes super comfortable to ride with plenty of neck and shoulder in front of you.

She is only for sale as I’ve bred myself a taller version and if she gets ridden once a fortnight she’s done well.

If you are into your gypsy cob breeding you will see she has great breeding, and is very correct if you wanted to show.

She needs her own person, but if you are coming from a riding school, are used to kicking every stride, or are hoping for a mother daughter share for your ten year old who is still struggling with rising trot, she is unlikely to be for you, you are likely to feel over horsed.

She is kind, super fun and gives you a great fun ride.

She is and has always been barefoot, easy to clip, bath, spray etc. She is vaccinated, has had a foal (we are a stud) three years ago which she did easily and her foal is still with us (also for sale).

Her ideal home is someone who wants to hack out, have a good canter across fields, do some fun rides etc

We have them in each night, and in the winter we have little / no turnout and she’s happy to stay in 24/7. She doesn’t get fresh or silly when in.

The home and person is every important, as she is a member of our family, but she is surplus to needs at the moment, and she could give someone a lot of fun.

She has a Kent & Masters saddle, Seddon bridle and a larger wardrobe than me that I’m happy to discuss

Beautiful Connemara Grey Mare Horse/Pony 12yrs

Dream ( Kildromin Dream) has been my granddaughters pony club ride from a five year old until now - she reached her 12th year in June - born 2014.

She is fast - can turn on a sixpence and is great out hunting / team chase and polocrosse - she was a real winner show jumping and has a good BSJ record - however she started not to enjoy jumping about four years ago,so we bought our granddaughter another horse for showjumping and Dream hasn’t been ridden as much since then - she has still hunted in the season and competed polocrosse regularly even getting a podium place at pony club championships in 2024 !

She’s always been exercised regularly in our arena at home -( she’s always been shod on all four ) and we are told by experts recently that she shows real potential as a dressage horse - but that she isn’t a horse you can just pull from the field and expect rosettes - the regular effort and dedication has to come from her rider too. We feel she would be ideally suited to a low level dressage / happy hacker at the moment.

She can be a little spooky but nothing dangerous… she does take confidence from her rider and is sensitive and a goer but nothing dangerous or sharp.

Although she’s always been a kids horse and has done a marvellous job - I do feel she’s not really a totally novice ride and also she measured in at 149.5 officially and is probably close to 15hh now - so a horse not a pony as categories go - therefore our aim is for her to go to a petite adult rider with experience- and who can offer a five star forever home for this much loved mare.

She is never sick or sorry and is open to any vetting - she is up to date with worming / injections / teeth etc

Oakfield Edna 🖤🤍

Edna is a beautiful 12-year-old piebald Gypsy Cob mare, standing at approximately 14.1hh.

A true homebred, Edna has been with us since she was a foal, born here on the farm and has been a much-loved and trusted member of our trekking centre team ever since. She is a kind, genuine mare with a lovely temperament and has looked after riders of all abilities throughout her life.

Edna is true to type, good to catch, shoe, load, bath and happily lives in a mixed herd of mares and geldings.

She is the ultimate confidence-giver, taking both complete beginners and experienced riders safely out on the trails. She is excellent in traffic, around farm machinery and livestock, and is completely at home on the wide open Welsh hills.

Edna likes to take life in her own pace but happily steps up when asked. She has done some light schooling but has mainly been used for hacking. She is the type that you can not ride for 6 months, hop back on and it feels like she never had a day off.

Edna would be perfectly suited to a happy hacking home where she can continue to enjoy exploring the countryside on hacks, days out & fun rides with a kind and caring owner. Edna does hack out alone but is used to going out in a group day to day.

Edna has some fantastic breeding, along with some lovely paces, she would be an asset to any breeding programme or anyone looking to hit the show ring.

Edna is a real gem & a type hard to find, this is a reluctant sale due to closure of our trekking centre and reduction in stock. We are looking for the very best home where she can enjoy the next chapter of her life.

⭐ Genuine enquiries only – the best home is our priority for this very special mare.

Searching For A Sensible Family Friend / Allrounder To Enjoy Hacking, Pleasure Rides & Clinics

Ref #: 410902

  • Full Up 14.2 - 15hh. Age 6 -14 yrs.
  • Confident Hacking Out / Meeting Farm Vehicles. Sensible To Hack In A Group / At Pleasure Rides.
  • Lightweight Cob / Connemara Or Similar Type.

I am searching for a trustworthy, best friend type to welcome to our kind, knowledgeable, family home. Our horses are treated as part of our family & they receive the absolute best of care. I would be happy to provide references & to keep in touch.

I have ridden for several years & consider myself a knowledgeable & capable rider. However, due to ongoing health issues with my horse, who is now retired, I haven’t ridden as consistently in more recent years & so I am no longer as confident as I once was. Therefore, I am seeking a laid back, best friend type, who does not need riding most days to remain safe & sane (realistically, I will generally ride 3-4 times a week).

We will be enjoying fun hacks from home, attending organised pleasure rides, forest trips, XC schooling & some clinics. I will at times want to hack alone but will also hack alongside my young daughter on her (sometimes quirky!) horse, so it is especially important that I find a level-headed, trustworthy type who I can depend on. Due to us going out in our horsebox regularly, I would like to find a horse who is good to load / travel &, most importantly, who remains calm & polite to handle & ride in different environments.

Our horses are kept at home with us & have all year turnout (stabled overnight during winter). I would love to find a gentle natured, polite character & a true best friend type.

We live in a rural area & although we generally meet very little traffic, when we do, it is often likely to be a tractor/farm vehicle. Therefore, it is hugely important that my new horse is confident around this type of traffic.

* I do appreciate that no horse is ‘perfect’ & that ‘bombproof’ does not exist & I am open to compromise, but please do just be honest about any possible known ‘issues’ as I will not buy unseen & would want to have any potential horse vetted *

We are based in Norfolk so ideally looking for something in or around East Anglia but would travel further if plenty of info, videos/photos could be provided beforehand. I have a sensible budget & very relaxed & loving forever home for the right horse.

13.1hh Approx. Chestnut Cob Gelding | 3 Years Old

A genuine, unspoilt young cob looking for someone to continue his education.

Standing at approximately 13.1hh, this lovely 3-year-old chestnut gelding has been in the same home since he was 2 years old. He has recently begun his ridden career and has been under saddle for around a month, taking everything in his stride.

He is happily walking and trotting around the lanes and fields, hacking out in company, and is proving to be a kind, straightforward and genuine pony. He enjoys his work, has a lovely way of going, and is eager to learn.

Having lived on a working farm, he has seen plenty of tractors, farm machinery and livestock, and is well accustomed to a busy environment. He is happy to stand tied up on the yard to be groomed and handled.

He can be ever so slightly nervous due to limited handling, but he has had a great upbringing and is improving all the time with regular work and reassurance. He is completely unspoilt and raw, making him an ideal blank canvas for someone wanting a rewarding project.

With further education and mileage, he has all the attributes to make a fantastic all-rounder and has the potential to become a super Pony Club pony for the future. He is willing, sensible and enjoys having a job.

He is not suitable for a novice as he still requires bringing on and further education, but in capable hands he has a very bright future ahead of him.

He is now ready for viewings and will continue his education while he is looking for his new home.

Currently on backing/sales livery, he is based near Badminton and is available for viewings by appointment.

A kind, knowledgeable home is essential for this special young gelding.

Seeking my next perfect pony! Must haves between - 14.2h and 15.2h, between - 6 and 15 , although would change for the perfect one.

Needs to be within 2 and a half hours of Derbyshire. would go further for the perfect one

MUST be safe around traffic , farm machinery , farm animals ( as I live on a farm ), happy hacking , schooling , fun rides , smaller jumps , local shows - showing , dressage etc

All year round turn out on private land , living with a Connie gelding and mini Shetland gelding ( can be in separate field)

Massive stables roughly 4 times bigger than an average one ! videos and pictures can be provided

Lots of land to hack around.

My preferred breed is a chunky traditional Connemara just because I love the breed so much my previous Connemara gave me so much but he is retired now , but would consider something else that fits the bill , but Connies really are my fav !

I previously had a bad accident with my last pony on the road with a tractor and my confidence is very low , it's very important that my next pony is very safe confidence giver. I am aware no horse is perfect but I don't want anything sharp or spooky and nothing that bolts , rears or bucks , strong etc
more woah than go

I would prefer no health issues but if it's something slight I will consider.
more must haves are good loading , good for farrier , dentist , for leading and for the vet.

I have had weekly dressage lessons for over a year and then monthly lessons with jumping the year before , spent a lot of time hacking ,before my accident. I have had horses for many years and was a competent rider until my accident where I lost confidence.

I am aware this is a lot to ask for but I know somewhere they must be one for me :) genuine 10 star home awaits thanks !

Rose is a gentle, sweet-natured cob mare who has recently returned into our care through absolutely no fault of her own, and she is now looking for her new home as a non-ridden companion. Living out 24/7 on sparse grazing, Rose is a perfect match for other good doers who also need restricted grass. Rose can live with both mares and geldings, and could adapt to part stabling with a steady routine.

Rose can be a little unsure at times, especially when settling in, but with a quiet home and a calm, confident handler she will truly flourish. She absolutely loves a good groom and will soak up every bit of fuss and affection.

Honest Family Pony – Ideal Project for a Confident Home

🌟 Much Loved Family Pony Seeking Her Next Home 🌟

Rosie is an 11-year-old, 13.1hh piebald mare looking for a loving new home.

This is an incredibly sad and heart-breaking sale for my daughter. Rosie was originally our loan pony before we went on to buy her, possibly a little too soon, and we have now realised that she needs more time, consistency, and experience than we are currently able to give her.

Rosie has taught my daughter so much as her first pony, and together they have achieved the basics and built lovely memories. However, we have come to the difficult conclusion that they are no longer the right match, and Rosie would benefit from someone who can continue her education and bring out her full potential.

She is safe and sensible, doesn’t buck or rear, and has previously been a riding school pony so she is used to being handled and ridden by children. At 11 years old she can be stubborn and set in her ways at times, so she does need a confident rider with a strong leg and someone willing to put the time into her so she can reach her full potential.

Rosie would make a fantastic project pony for someone wanting to further her schooling and continue her development, or equally she would suit a family wanting a much-loved all-round pony to enjoy. On her quieter days, she would also be very happy as a companion pony.

Rosie has no known health issues. There is a possibility of mild CPL based on appearance alone, but this has never been formally diagnosed and she shows no other signs. It is managed with supplements as a precaution and has never impacted her comfort or ability to work.

This sale has not been an easy decision, so the right home is extremely important to us. We are looking for a kind, knowledgeable family where Rosie will continue to be loved, understood, and given the time she deserves.

Please message for more information, photos, videos, and to discuss suitability. Serious enquiries only please. Can be sold with tack for additional cost. Based in Bedfordshire.

13.1 Grey Mare looking for a loving home

  • Loves going on trail rides, exploring
  • Looking for the perfect rider to take her on many more adventures in the future

This is QT. QT is a grey 13.1hh mare who is 19 years old. Her breed is unknown but most likely a cob cross. We have owned her for nearly 3 years but have been riding her for 5 years and she has now unfortunately been outgrown.

QT is a great hacking buddy and loves going on trail rides, exploring and is looking for the perfect rider to take her on many more adventures in the future. QT requires a strong, experienced rider due to the fact she can be very forward and quite strong when she is excited. She absolutely loves galloping and going for zoomies.

QT has schooling experience, however, doesn’t enjoy it as much as hacking these days but is still willing. She has jumped up to 90cm but not recently. Unfortunately, she hasn’t done much work for the last couple of months but she will come into work just fine. QT loves Stud Muffins and is a huge lover of Horslyx Garlic Lick.

QT is a field kept pony living out in the field during the day and night all year round. She is used to being put in a stable for grooming or tacking up. QT is a very good girl for the farrier and isn’t so much of a fan of the dentist but is still well behaved. QT settles in to new areas very quickly.

QT is super well behaved when being groomed, however is a bit sensitive/ticklish on her stomach and at her withers. QT is looking for a new home where she will be loved, taken on many forest rides and hopefully, kept for many years to come.

QT means the world to us and is very much our pride and joy. We’ll be choosing her new family just as carefully as they’ll be choosing her, because finding the perfect match is what matters most.

Sad sale due to complete lack of time to do him justice and he is far too good to sit in the field doing nothing.

Absolutely stunning silver dapple and white 5yr old gelding standing around 14,1hh and as wide as he is tall,

An abundance of main tail and feather he is a straight moving boy with no blemishes and no vices.

A lovely natured boy who loves people he is good to do in all ways catch bath with farrier is good to fully clip he travels and loads well in lorry or trailer.

Was broken last year and hacking out round the villages like an an angel and turned away for winter but due to complete lack of time has done nothing since.

He will come back in to work easy with no problem I have tacked him up a few times and jumped on and gone round the village and he didn’t bat an eye.

Did a couple of in hand shows as a 2 yr old and won everything he has so much potential would easy show at county level or would be a lovely family horse.

Up to date with jabs farrier etc

Same home from 2 years old and will only go to the best of homes.

14.2 5 year old cob. Pablo is a really sweet horse that will stand for hours to be fussed over. He’s good to do everything with.

He will hack for hours through fields , passes all traffic and canters on the end of the buckle.

In the school he’s green but never puts a foot wrong.

He loves to jump. Pablo really finds 2nd gear happily jumping 80/90 with fillers etc.

He would suit a home that just wants to have fun.

He doesn’t need to be ridden everyday , he’s the same horse after a week off.
