Rideability & Character
Do not let his height deceive you. While he stands at 17.2hh, he is built exceptionally narrow, refined, and leggy—riding like a much smaller horse. He sits light in the hand, handles seamlessly, and does not require a strong rider.
True to his premium breeding, he is a safe but authentic, clever warmblood. For the first 10 minutes of a session, he can feel a little "stuffy" and requires a capable rider to confidently and sympathetically send him forward to stretch. Once he is loosened up and through his back, he transforms completely—becoming incredibly light off the leg, responsive, and a total joy to ride.
Please note: He is strictly not a novice ride. Feur Noir is a professional horse who definitely knows who is on his back. In confident, capable hands, he is a total gentleman and a generous teacher. He is excellent to hack in company or alone, shoe, clip, box, and catch.
Health, Maintenance and Ideal Home
Feur Noir is currently entirely sound, fit, and back in full work. To ensure longevity and maximum comfort due to his height, he has been lightly and successfully maintained under veterinary guidance with standard stifle joint injections. He responds beautifully to routine care and is being sold with a full, transparent clinical history available for a vet-to-vet chat.
He is at his comfortable physical ceiling and is not being sold as an Advanced prospect to do flying changes, as these place too much pressure on his stifles. He is priced to reflect his unique beauty, manners, and established education. He is looking for a luxury home where he will be kept at his current comfortable level or stepped down to enjoy lateral work, hacking, and low-impact dressage.
