Full up 16.1hh ISH,12 years old Gelding.

Sweet temperament, very handsome boy. Easy to do, handled daily by my daughter.

Good allrounder and done a whole range of activities with us and easy to take out. Would do any job.

Loves his jumping and rarely gets faults, has some Irish points at 110. Hacks really well. Fun RC horse but also good enough for an amateur.

He needs a pilot not a passenger so no novices. Easy for an experienced rider, but enough personality to keep it fun.

Currently a mother/daughter share but he needs an older teen/adult. Not a problem for me/other adults but can take advantage of my daughter (12).

Would make good hunter as not silly or strong, plenty of scope and stands/waits politely (Irish bred/produced so chances are he has done it before!).

Currently lives on a working farm, barefoot and everything up to date.

Difficult sale and the best home wanted for this lovely boy. He needs to find his person to love him and take him out for lots of fun.

Skye 15.2hh mare

£2,000 OVNO

  • Loving temperament
Skye is sadly looking for a new home due to change in circumstances so a good home is very important. I purchased Skye back in 2014 as an ex racer at an age of 7 she has taken everything in her stride to become the horse she is today and made me the rider I am.

She’s 18 year old mare but still has the mind of a 7 year old and is happy to do any jumps you take her over. She’s done unaffiliated jumping upto 90cm and is never faced by any fillers or anything. She’s been CrossCountry Usually 80/90cm and is not faced by any jumps but is funny with water jumps. She’s does get abit joggy on hacks on her own but isn’t faced by traffic and is happy to go in front or behind in groups. Really good in the school does need a bit of persuading to go into contact but gets better with regular work.

She has a loving temperament and is good to handle she does have her moments as she is a thoroughbred. She is upto date with farrier and all vaccines and worming. And travels fine in box or trailer on her own or in company.

Skye could ideally do with going to an experienced rider who understands her and will love her as much as I do.

Tack and rugs can be included for an extra price

Hobnob is only available for sale due to owners unexpected need to relocate. She is by the performance-bred Welsh Section D stallion Farleaze Lord Prenwyn, out of a Caspian mare and currently stands at 13hh.

She is well handled, confident and easy to do. Good with farrier, loads and travel well. She recently had her teeth checked and rasped and all was well.

She has been raised naturally, out at grass on the side of a hill with other youngsters with just a mineral lick and hay when needed in winter. She is a very good-doer!

A good, long term home is a top priority.

Her sire Farleaze Lord Prenwyn competes successfully with children and adults in all disciplines, he has inherited incredible scope and technique from his sire, the legendary jumping pony/sire Machno Carwyn. Farleaze Lord Prenwyn's dam Follywood Miss Teak placed at the National Dressage Champs and finished 15th in the British Eventing Grassroots Champs, proving her own talent and versatility.

Hobnob's Caspian dam Holloway Zarrin Minoo is a career broodmare and has now been sold to France. She had an incredibly laid back temperament and showed great technique and attitude when loose jumped.

Ice moves beautifully with a lovely rhythmical trot and an outstanding uphill canter always in a snaffle with a lovely soft mouth not strong. Nicely schooled he will work on the contact and is a real eye catcher with lots look at me presence

Was taken out last weekend loaded and travelled well, and was well behaved in a busy warmup. Just a mark away from winning his class!

He is a lovely hack and good in open spaces and is used to hacking alone with his owner or in company being good in traffic.

A very endearing little horse who loves abit if attention he is good to clip, shoe and catch and is a pleasure to be around with excellent manners. A real yard favourite!

He is a responsive ride in his way of going but never rude or unruly he would suit a teen/young rider/petite adult who for a Pony/Riding club but equally could do really well affiliated dressage. He enjoys his jumping and is happy to pop round a course of jumps

Only the best home for this really special little horse!

Paddy is a 13.2, 6 years old, really sweet pony which we have had for nearly two years. Sadly we are looking for a new home due to being too big on him . We have been doing everything, from eventing to showjumping and multiple different pony club activities and camps. He has been placed at almost every event. He has been showjumping up to 80 confidentiality and evented confidently at 70 but schooled over 80 and some 90. He has grown in confidence with his rider. If you are looking for perfect conformation for showing, paddy is not for you, but if you want lots of fun jumping and schooling he is great! He will go well on the flat but is still young and tho will do a good dressage test it is the area that will establish further with training.

He is really good to hack alone or in company. Is really sweet on the ground and good to clip, shoe and load etc.

He is up to date with all vaccinations, teeth and physio. Had an Irish vetting in Nov 23 with nothing to note.

Really sad sale, please no time wasters and Paddy has never had a novice rider on board so is not a first pony! He is forward going and loves his job.

Super honest advert.

I bought Frank aka Stevie as a first ridden pony for my daughter. Unfortunately, it turns out he was a working stallion until April 2025 and was broken shortly after his castration. As such, he still shows stallion-like tendencies and is too much for my daughter.

He needs a confident, experienced home living in the company of other horses.

He has been shown in hand and is working well under saddle. He has 3 good paces, hacks alone or in company and will stand in the stable without issue.

He needs a small adult or teenager to continue his education.

He is never strong or spooky, will hack along main roads and is not phased by traffic. He is good to wash, happily stands to be groomed and is easy to catch. Open to offers.

2023 Quality RC/WHP/All-Rounder Prospect - SPSS Graded

  • Small sports horse filly to make approx 14.3hh (final height revised due to measuring error!)
  • Gold award at the British Breeding Futurity & SPSS Graded mare
  • Part bred Highland - custom bred to make a higher-level RC all-rounder
Is this the Goldilocks equine partner you are looking for? Not too big, not too small, not too sharp, not too slow, and not too bay!

Custom-bred to make a higher-level RC all-rounder for the competitive amateur rider, but also the right size for WHP or mounted games, take a look at Widgeon Hill Ceilidh.

- Not a warmblood, not a furry pony, but a perfect package in between: a small Sports Horse to make approx 14.3hh. —- Please note that this advert originally stated she was to make 15/15.1. This has changed because - very embarrassingly - I discovered my measuring stick was not locked out to full length, and I was accidentally adding 2 inches to the height of all my horses! But this does mean Ceilidh is expected to stay within the height limit for WHP or Mounted Games, so if that's your thing, read on!
- Brave and athletic (and loved her first experience loose jumping for the videos) but with pony-derived cleverness, sure-footedness and hardiness.
- Economical to keep: relatively compact, lives off of fresh air, and can happily live out all year! You will probably be able to keep her barefoot too; just think of the savings there: she would pay for herself in less than 8 years!
- She will have more than enough “go” to be a serious prospect for higher-level RC competitions in any (or all) disciplines, and enjoy in the moment.... rather than a horse that's a Bit Too Much making riding into Type 2 fun
- Who wants a boring bay? You will stand out from the crowd on a beautiful dun appaloosa with one blue eye and Tina Turner-style stripy hair! Better still, you don’t even need to wash her mane and tail before competing. Because they’re a mixture of white, black and golden brown hair, nobody will have any idea whether they are clean or not!
- And last but definitely not least, she has an adorable personality and absolutely loves cuddles and fuss

Ceilidh’s breeding - whilst unusual - was very carefully planned. She is by the Highland pony Balmoral Sport, out of the ApHC-registered and SPSS-graded mare Chamfron Chipita, who is herself from very versatile American Appaloosa and Quarter Horse bloodlines (including a good dose of TB).

Ceilidh’s super conformation, movement, soundness and temperament earned her a Gold award at the recent British Breeding Futurity (native/part-bred native section) and, despite being only two, she is already an SPSS graded mare. She was also awarded SPSS Youngstock Evaluation Premium status as a yearling.

- Registered and passported as a part-bred Highland
- Eligible for over-stamping by the UK ApHC as a part-bred
- Sports Pony Studbook Society graded into the main mare studbook
- Currently standing about 14.1hh - likely to finish approx 14.3hh
- Up to date with everything, good to trim feet, groom, bath, lead, tie, load (hesitates for a moment then walks in), travel, catch etc.
- Happy to stand on the lorry at events
- Been to several large county shows and behaved beautifully, including at the Royal Welsh as a yearling
- Well-established groundwork (leading, back-up, yielding shoulders and hind-quarters)
- Has been for a few hacks in-hand with a ridden horse and behaved very sensibly, plus some relaxed educational outings such as going to a Horse Agility lesson, boxing to a nearby village to walk through the ford, and a trip out to a round pen lesson.
- Used to dogs, cats, and poultry underfoot; has been turned out next to sheep and cattle
- Lives out naked 24/7, but stables (and wears rugs) happily prior to shows and events
- Open to vet: super “future soundness” mark of 8.75 at recent Futurity veterinary evaluation
- Please note that Ceilidh has one blue eye and one brown eye so if you can't stand horses with blue eyes, swipe left!

I bred Ceilidh as a retirement pony for me, but have reluctantly accepted that as a quick-thinking, athletic and very intelligent small sports horse she is more suited to a more competitive and ambitious rider than I (maybe a mother/teenager share?) to produce and later excel in RC competitions, rather than expecting her to be the laid-back more-whoa-than-go conveyance I'll need if I'm to ride into my 70s... especially because I also have a Fell youngster meeting that exact spec and I won't be able to keep both of them after I retire.

The right home is very important. I am looking for a home experienced with groundwork and ideally with youngsters: Ceilidh needs a kind, consistent handler who can reinforce respectful boundaries. She is a friendly and affectionate filly who comes to call, loves being groomed and pampered, and once she feels secure in your leadership she will try very hard to please you. She learns very quickly. She needs a “doing” home, I doubt she will be the kind of horse you can only ride once a month (another reason she isn’t right for me). Whilst I'd love her to have a home who intend to compete in their chosen discipline(s) when the time comes, Ceilidh having a happy life and being enjoyed by her new owner is more important. I am also keen that she has a home able to provide daily turnout with equine friends - she is perfectly happy to be left in the field alone when her mates are taken out to be ridden, but I strongly believe horses need to live with other horses.

I am not averse to Ceilidh being purchased as a project for someone to bring on and re-sell later in her training - I am aware the pool of keen RC riders who are in a position to take on an unbacked youngster is fairly limited!

Ceilidh’s dam only competed occasionally purely due to my lack of time, energy and inclination, but evented up to 90cm, did SJ, arena eventing, hunter trials, County-level showing (spotted and Foreign breed classes), and dressage (only to Novice, but she would easily have gone further with a more competitive rider). She was borrowed for PC regional dressage teams, and approved for para riders to use in RDA dressage competitions which she did to regional and national level. Ceilidh will be similarly versatile.

Whilst Ceilidh was bred to be a useful riding horse rather than a broodmare, she could provide a total outcross to any breeding programme. Depending on stallion choice, she could produce sports ponies, amateur-friendly RC all-rounders, or larger, higher-octane sports horses with a dash of native pony blood if she were crossed to a TB or warmblood. Genetically, she is a bay dun appaloosa: any offspring would have a 50% chance of being spotted and a 50% chance of being dun (higher if bred to a dun and/or spotted stallion). Any offering would be eligible for a SPSS passport.

I’m offering Ceilidh at a reduced price now, just in case the perfect new owner is looking for a quality youngster to bond with over winter, prior to starting under saddle next year. If not sold, she will be re-offered next year after being backed.

NB - please note - I will reply to any texts/emails/WhatsApp messages as quickly as I can, but it may not be until mid/late evening. It is rare that I can answer the phone in office hours.

Very loving family pony that tries his best to please. Robin is a youngster and therefore is still green in school etc.

He has been produced slowly and has enjoyed life out hacking and exploring the countryside.

He has attended hound exercise where he behaved impeccably as well as a couple of lessons locally.

He has also hacked out in groups and gone down the beach. He has hacked out on his own and behaved sensibly for his age.

He stands still to be mounted and dismounted. He is currently fully vaccinated and barefoot.

Can send more photos/ videos on request.

Homebred gelding by Chilli Morning x Cavalier Royale.

Competed up to Novice successfully with amateur female rider but in his element at Grassroot level. Current rider wanting to compete at top level and he is sadly not a 5* horse, hence sale.

3 very smart paces, could do pure dressage and will be qualified for regionals this winter if not sold. Always in top ten after dressage eventing. Careful showjumping but very forgiving and will jump off any stride. In his element XC, always looking for the flags.

Would suit a competent rider looking for a quality amateur horse; doesn't need drilling in the school, can be picked up on a weekend for an event and hacked or in the field through the week. No novice riders - he is still a fit competition horse and very intelligent so needs handling with experience.

Passed vetting for insurance this winter but does have changes on x-rays on hocks - not affecting his performance but means we would prefer someone not looking to compete above Novice max so he can be doing what he loves for many many years to come!
