Rhencullen Showman

Are you looking for a loving lead rein pony that has been there, done it and will keep you smiling? - Spud is the one!

11.2hh. Welsh sec A. 16 yo.

Perfect PC LR pony, will happily turn his hoof to anything and everything whilst being nice and easy to deal with on the ground - I always go to all PC Rallies, shows, lessons etc just my daughter and I, he’s never a bother and because of this makes days out a complete joy.

He always comes out with a can do attitude and never fails to make us smile. My daughter can be quite nervous and he’s looked after her every step of the way - he really has been a perfect LR pony - we’ve done all PC activities including games and xc, also taking part in fancy dress, working hunter shows, showing classes (never gets excitable at the busier shows) and I will often ride and lead too.

He hasn’t had any expense spared and is up to date with everything.

We would love a home that is going to keep in touch as this is a really hard sale.

Only had 2 owners, registered Leisure Horse Ireland - SUPER SUPER SAFE IRISH COB

She is a chunk of a mare a great weight carrier. Excellent allrounder, perfect mother daughter share.

Tonnes of experience and very safe. Ideal for a beginner, nervous rider or a rider who wants to progress onto big things, she is super steady, calm and gentle in every way, she definitely not a plod, even tho she is super safe, she response to the leg and has 3 excellent paces, with flare and enthusiasm. She is a fantastic all-rounder.

This is a really fantastic horse for anyone to build up their confidence, learn to ride and continue to progress on.

Definitely a 1st and 2nd pony.

10 years schoolmistress.

Exceptional mare with tonnes of experience for sale. Has spent the last 3 years in the same riding school where she has been ridden by complete novice, intermediate and advanced riders both children and adults. She has done all flat and jumping lessons, privates and groups, with the same enthusiasm now as when she first started her riding school career. She is very genuine and loves to hack out, she doesn’t pull, rush, spook or get nervous of anything, she is the most loving mare you could ever wish to meet. . She is one of the favourite with our SEN children and adults, she participates in all our RDA lessons, hacks and stable management sessions.
She has previously competed at a riding club level and would resume back to that life style with ease. She can turn her hoof to anything, x country, basic dressage, Showjumping etc.

Absolutely no vices, when ridden, in the stable or in the field and has brilliant manners enabling anyone to handle her safely and with ease, will stand for hours with no head collar or lead rope being groomed.

She has exceptional manners and ticks so many boxes for someone looking for a very safe easy schoolmistress, with no ifs or buts.

Patsy will hack out alone or in company in the heaviest of traffic without batting an eye lid. she is 100% safe, steady and collected when ridden in all paces across open fields, regardless of wether she is at the front or back of the ride or on her own, she will not rush or pull even on the way home.

Snaffle mouth with absolutely no gadgets.

She lives out in a mixed herd but is equally happy to be stabled, she is currently barefoot and has excellent manners with the farrier and could be shod if needed. She ties up anywhere, and loves attention.
She is excellent catch, with the farrier and dentist.

Patsy would give confidence to any rider/ handler and could easily compete at riding club level, fun/beach rides.

Patsy can go for months without work then be tacked up and ridden without any fuss. She is extremely low maintenance, she maintains her weight all year round on grass and hay and Haylage during the winter months.
She has never had laminitis or sweet itch.

In the past 3 yrs I can honestly say she has never been lame, sick or sorry, my vet can verify this, she has passed the riding school annual inspections with flying colours.

Looking for a five star private home to give someone the opportunity to purchase a safe and very sensible horse, with so much to offer.
We have got 5 other loverly riding school horses and ponies up for sale.

First to see will buy, she is one in a million and really can’t be missed.

Absolute heartbreaking sale but we like to change our stock around every 2 years to give our fantastic horses and ponies the opportunity to experience a one to one home.

Photos and videos available upon request.

Nothing I can write will reflect how amazing this boy is. He has taken our son over 2 1/2 years from lead rein to confidently jumping double clear at 50cm and competing dressage at Aintree, and a bit of horse back archery and pony racing on the side.

Dudley has taken part in all pony club activities winning handy pony competitions , pony club camp and hacking out on his own and in company. He is the same pony whatever you do. At Aintree stay away show he walked down that horse walk as if he were at home.

He travels alone or in company and will stand in the box no fuss.

He is completely handled by our 9 year old son, who even loads him.

He lunges, free schools and we have done ground work and inhand dressage with him.

The dentist treats him without sedation, he is good for vet, farrier ( does have front shoes but could go bare foot again ). He is update with all of the above too.

He is part of our family and his only fault is when you come to have to sell him you will be devastated too, and this is not his fault.

He is also a good stamp to show we have just not done this as it isn’t our interest but he is a pretty chap admired and loved everywhere we go.

We are still in touch with his previous owner who had him from a 5 year old. If we could make him grow he wouldn’t be going anywhere!

He will come with his full wardrobe including brand new saddle £6000.

This is a very hard sale so time wasters and kerb kickers need not apply. Homes will be vetted and we would like to stay in touch with his new family.

Knolton Amber
Pantymel Jack x Knolton samara

Rising 5 year old, grey, Welsh section a mare.
Approx 11hh
Absolutely no vices!
Sweetest nature and loves a fuss
Been with me the last 3 years.

Lightly backed and hacked 2022 by my, at the time, 3 year old daughter. She was left to mature over winter and lightly ridden last year.

A dream to hack alone or in company. Good in the school but is a forward ride off the lead. Would make a perfect lead rein or will step it up for a small jockey wanting to do pony club, etc. Would definitely take a child to HOYS/RI in the workers!

She doesn’t bolt, rear or buck - hasn’t a nasty bone in her body she’s just forward going.
Has been jumped on the lunge and absolutely loves it! Would take a jockey round a course.

Has been shown in hand by myself 4/5 times as a youngster and always placed. Placed at Stars with good marks as a 2 year old and had only done 2 shows previous to this (also the youngest in a large small breeds class)

Great for the farrier, vet, load/travels perfectly. Recently had teeth done too. Will live in or out with anything. She has always been the nicest pony in the field. Never kicks or bites.

She is in her winter woolies at the minute but has had a trim and tidy up. She is ready to start learning the ropes with her new jockey ready for the season.

She will come with everything I have for her including tack, rugs etc.

LOTS of pictures and videos available
Home more important than price but I’m in no rush so won’t accept silly offers.

Kitty is a very sweet kind little pony who is willing to please. Due to her age she is still a little green but has a lovely kind nature.

Ideal leadrein/2nd pony in the making. She may well make a super 1st pony in time. She certainly has the temperament for it she just needs time to mature.

She's a fun little pony a real mothers dream/PC allrounder.

Kitty has lovely paces good enough for the showring. She would make a top cradle stakes pony as she is showing a super genuine technique over a fence, snaffle mouthed, straightforward and bold.

Experienced home sort for this smashing little pony in the making. Good to hack, handle, load, farrier etc.

Welsh/Shropshire border. Price will increase as her education improves.

  • Looking for a new best mate to go and have so much fun with

Friendly, happy little chap looking for a new best mate to go and have so much fun with. Current owner purchased for her very uninterested son and has finally admitted defeat  and pony needs to find a new home as he’s far too good to be wasted as a field ornament.

Previous home he was there for 2 years, mostly as a lead rein pony, and has taken part in fun rides, PC rallies, lessons, hacking and shows on the lead and been a star, but was then outgrown and sold to current owners.

He enjoys jumping and is not phased by fillers, has seen games equipment etc.

Off lead he works independently in a nice little shape and responsive enough to not need kicking along but not a super speedy pony and slows down when asked however can be cheeky and try his luck so for off lead he needs a confident, competent rider rather than someone really nervous. He would best be described as a 1.5 level pony for a keen child. He would perhaps suit someone spending some time on the leadrein and then transitioning off as they will know how he goes and that he means nothing by it, he is not nasty but can pull for grass or to the gate etc if he thinks he can get away with it so needs someone that will keep him busy.

He is at his happiest tootling along with someone giggling away on top, making up games for them and just enjoying him.

He is fab to hack, great with farm machinery, motorbikes etc. Used to a busy farm environment and doesn't bat an eye at tractors etc right next to him. Goes through water, up and down steps etc.

He is a real gent on the ground and tiny humans can do everything with him, catching, leading, stabling, grooming, picking feet, bathing, feeding, mucking out round him, loading and general pampering, plaiting and glittering, (fairy dress and all!)

He is good for the farrier (he has fronts on when doing more work but is currently barefoot with good feet) loads and travels perfectly, good to bath and clip and for the vet. Good to catch.

He will stand on the yard with toy (and real!) tractors right behind him, footballs bouncing by, dogs backwards and forwards and doesn't blink.

Sold with tack and rugs.

Seen at livery.

Reduced as not in work and being wasted in the field.

Hope Prince Charming aka Johnny - Johnny is a 7 year old Welsh section A, 11'2. We have owned Johnny for 5 years. He has done 3 seasons of PC on the lead with my daughter.

Johnny is a lead rein or 2nd pony.

Good to clip and load into trailer and lorry. He is good on the ground with my daughter. Can be impatient when bathing (He prefers warm water)

He is great to put fancy dress outfits on. He would make a great games pony for a more established rider.

He did his first open ridden class with an older child and really came into his own.

He is still green off the lead rein.

Teeth and vacs up to date.

Been to many shows and places well.

Plenty of photos and videos

Beautiful 2009 Chesnut gelding standing at a full up 13hh. This gorgeous boy is a parents dream.

He has three gorgeous flashy, floaty and expressive paces, has shown successfully and moves beautifully. Snaffle mouthed, Joey offers a lovely ride on the flat, he’s kind and forgiving and he’s happy to teach a novice the ropes, or step up a gear for a more able and confident jockey.

Joey jumps cross country and showjumps, we have jumped him up to 90cm, he’s scopey and enjoys it, but again would be happy to step down and trot over small fences with a wobbly jockey, Joey has the perfect canter to learn on, and he’s kind under saddle and on the ground.

He will stand for hours to be groomed, likes children and just wants to please, he will hack on the buckle alone & with others, isn’t bothered by tractors, machinery, heavy traffic, open spaces etc, brilliant with farm animals / dogs etc. this super lad offers so much experience, a hard to find pony that’s been there, done it and has the t shirt.

He’s done loads of riding club, low level shows, showjumping, etc. a stand out from the crowd flashy lad that offers a super safe ride. Ideal family pony. Open to any vet or trainer

Tough decision today to sell my daughter’s Section A Welsh pony:

Aleanto Great Gatsby, is a flashy, dapple grey pony, 8-years old, 12h (121.9cm) registered Section A Welsh mountain pony.

Outstanding breeding: Sire - Friars Rebel 51398 (GRB)
Dam -118825 H Lollipop (OS).

Green Passported.

He is a flashy looking Welsh pony. With his ground manners you need to be firm with him
or he will take liberties. However he is truly fantastic under the saddle (& ridden bareback too) and looks after his rider, in this case, my 10yr old daughter. She rides him out in our open fields and forest, alone and in company, and he isn’t at all nappy. He doesn’t buck, rear or bolt and he is as sound as a pound ( recently vet checked), he has a wonderfully strong back and is also very fit.

Aleanto Great Gatsby excelled as a Novice M & M first ridden , produced by the talented Sophie Curry in his previous home (Wales).

He excels at: hunting, beach rides, fun rides, hacking, endurance rides, Pony Club rallies, PC camp & XC mini eventing. He does a lovely dressage test and unaffiliated jumping (X poles -60cm)

He schools nicely and will go up or down a gear according to his rider. He has taught my daughter from lead rein to jumping. His teaching ways have developed her riding skills, so that she can now move onto a larger pony.

Excellent to hack alone or in a group, goes first or last out hunting , is utterly BOMBPROOF in traffic, will lead off or be lead for exercise and is very mannerly in open fields. This well-maintained pony is up-to-date on vaccinations, feet, and teeth and worming.

He currently lives out with mares or geldings, also happy to be on his own, previous home was stabled. Can be hard to catch but comes to a treat every time!

He is currently barefoot but is good to shoe too with increased roadwork.

He loads and travels well and stands happily in the trailer at shows.

Good for farrier, dentist and no sedation needed for clipping

Why am I selling ? My daughter has simply outgrown him and needs a 138!

DO YOU HAVE A HORSE OR PONY SUITABLE FOR THE RDA?

WANTED ON LONG TERM LOAN / PURCHASE

Ref #: 249896
  • If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below
  • If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below

One of the main issues that RDA groups face is finding an Equine to suit the needs of the participants in their group.

We are regularly contacted with offers of Equines that are ‘the ideal RDA horse or pony’ when actually what is ideal for one group may not be for the next. We are trying to move away from the stereotypical view that RDA Equines are elderly and somewhat static, our horses and ponies need to be fit, healthy and athletic to cope with the lifestyle in an RDA group.

They can range from smaller, forward going ponies to weight carrying cobs and can take part in a range of disciplines from Riding to Carriage Driving, Vaulting to Show Jumping and Endurance.

If you contact an RDA Group about your Equine please be prepared to fill in an Equine Initial Interest Form which will ask you many questions about your horses’ temperament, health history, experience and lifestyle. Many groups will prefer to have an equine on trial to make sure they are suitable for the job.

For long term loans and purchases they will also be required to have a Pre-Purchase Examination.

If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below.

11.2/3 Welsh x. Now sadly outgrown, Prince has been the best LR and FR pony for my girls.

He has done lots of pony club competitions as well as camp each summer and numerous SJ and dressage. He’s the most amazing pony ever for mounted games.

He schools and jumps well. His perfect height is 40cm. Loves to hack. He prefers to hack with other ponies but will hack alone. He’s great on the ground and loves to be groomed and fussed. He is also rather good at learning new tricks.

Loads well, good for farrier, clipping, vet and dentist. Vac due November. Cheap to keep. Full wardrobe.

  • Looking for a new home to get out and have fun
She has just turned 4 and has been bought on slowly and attentively. Although she is green she is a very quick learner and moves very well. She is currently in work most days, never sick or sorry and enjoys having a job to do, but will equally stand in quietly and very content.

Dolly currently works very well in hand or leading from another, with a more capable rider she is working in the school in a nice frame and out hacking including on busy roads. She has also happily popped a few fences and been handled by younger children.

Dolly will be the easiest pony to have on any yard and has been a very useful travel companion for us. She will certainly make a super family pony or do very well in the show ring with her movement, beautiful markings and attitude, she is very easy to do in and out of the stable, up to date with dentist and farrier managing well barefoot.

Plenty more video and pictures available, please WhatsApp for any further information.

Jolene is a lovely 13hh chunky well related fell pony. Renowned for weight carrying- do not let her size put you off! Fell ponies are perfect mother daughter shares- ridden by adults and children in her current home- you never feel under horsed!

Jolene was bought off the breeder and has been in her current home ever since. She is currently used for predominantly pleasure riding, hacking and in hand showing. She has been regularly schooled on the flat and works well on the bridle so would also be a lovely dressage pony!

Jolene is great out hacking, she hacks alone and in company- predominantly in company at the moment due to owner not liking to ride alone! She is barefoot and has good tough little feet, a v low maintenance pony!

She works very well in the school and could go and be competitive prelim dressage- and is ready to climb up the levels! She is obedient and really enjoys working in the school and learning lateral movements. She is incredibly intelligent and a fast learner!

Jolene has done a little bit of jumping- pops X poles and uprights in the school happily with children on. This would be her area of least experience as this has not been her main area of owners focus.

Jo has been showing in the summer to local competitions and has always come home with a rosette! She loads/travels and behaves impeccably while she is out.

She is good to clip, trim, do in all ways. She currently lives in at night but would happily live out 24/7. She is a very handy pony!

She is out of Inglegarth Pandora by Wellbrow Leo.

She would be suitable for a home with a small adult wanting to do pleasure rides, hunting, hacking, dressage, showing and have a general allround lovely low maintenance pony.

She would be a lovely mother daughter share. She is great with children and would be good on and off the lead rein. She never bucks/rears. She would be an ideal PC pony.

Further photos and videos available via whatsap! Lovely home sought for this lovely pony!

An absolute dream to have around. She is so sweet and easy to handle. The kids catch her and lead her in from field, groom her and do everything with her. She is a very safe and kind with little kids. Never ever mean in any way. A quiet, gentle little girl.

Very pretty and a striking Palomino colour, every girls dream Barbie pony!

My kids are sadly out growing her and have a larger pony to move up to. She is a perfect leadrein pony. She is also happy to lead off another horse or pony. She will happily hack out all day and keep up with the horses. She’s safe in traffic. She will also go fantastic off lead for first or second ridden. Easy to school. She’s not speedy, needs a bit of leg. Will school happily in a ride or on her own. On her own in the school she is lovely and easy but needs a bit more leg. Very safe to learn on. Has a nice little trot and canter and will pop a small jump. Love’s trotting poles, etc.

Perfect to load and travel, with farrier etc. She has strong barefoot hooves.

Perfect pony for a small child learning on the leadrein, knowing she is safe to unclip and ride off lead when they are ready! Happy to discuss anything else.

  • Responsive, fun pony who enjoys her job
Molly is a lovely 12.2 9 year old mare.

She's an experienced PC pony having just about tried everything that PC offers!

She's a cracking little show jumper and loves XC and arena eventing. She's had a go at mounted games, showing at the local agricultural show, dressage, hunter trials, beach rides, pony club rallies and tests etc etc!!

She's been to 3 junior camps and also 3 intro camps (on a leadrein) and has coped with it all - handy pony included!

She's been on hound rides, beach rides, hacked through woods and fields and plenty of xc rallies in the open and happily goes through water.

Molly has been a star at show jumping, competing on and off the lead rein being regularly placed and has qualified for the Sunshine Tour in arena eventing.

She's up to date with vaccinations, teeth and saddlery checks.

She's barefoot, travels well in a trailer or lorry and has stayed away at camp no problems. Lives in or out and is easy to keep.

Molly is a responsive, fun pony who enjoys her job. She's great on the leadrein (we've done a lot of miles together!) or with a rider looking to go forward and have fun. Molly has plenty of potential to go even further in all areas.

First class home needed for this special pony.

14 year old Dartmoor pony

Ref #: 338167
£2,250
  • Dartmoor
  • Grey
  • Gelding
  • 14 years
  • 12.3 hands

14 years old
Approx 13hh
I have had him for 13 years and he is a real family favourite. However he’s now without a jockey and my daughter is too young to ride him still and he’s just going to waste in the field.
He’s done a bit of everything with children over the years; mainly hacking but also a few clinics, days hunting, trips out etc. he’s at his happiest when doing a job, he loves to jump despite having fairly low mileage for his age.

He would suit an ambitious child looking for their new best friend, to hack out with and go to shows. He’s not a turn key pony so would need a knowledgable home to bring the best out of him and in return you’ll get the perfect pony. He’s a quick learner.

He couldn’t be easier to deal with on the ground, happily lives in or out, likes his home comforts but doesn’t grumble if left out either.

Good in company. Excellent lead and rein. Lives on a farm so used to all kinds of traffic and cattle.

If he’s in work and handled regularly he’s fine but if left for a while he can be tricky to catch without a bucket of food.

He’s prone to laminitis so grass quantity needs controlling. His feet grow quite quickly and at the moment he’s being trimmed and fronts replaced every 5 weeks. Therefore farrier fees will be higher than average.

Knowledgeable home only, experience with laminitis needed.

Serious enquiries only please
