BARRDENE ROMEO - Romeo has been an exceptional pony for us, we have owned him for 6 years and he has taken both our girls to RIHS and HOYS. He is such a lovely pony to have, the girls can do him all by themselves, he is trustworthy and would take a nervous or fyfr jockey off the lead.

He has competed a handful of times as a lead rein, he was consistenly placed in the classes he did. He is a wonderful pony, beautifully bred and has lovely confirmation. he is always ridden by our youngest Penny (age 9). Snaffle mouthed.

This pony has been a dream to own, his next home is very important to us, he is very sensibly priced so we can find the best home for him.

13 hands 5 years piebald mare.

Mini is a true children’s pony from teaching children to canter to jumping a log she is a true star. She has been at our small riding establishment for a year now getting lots of experience from our children. She has always been a dream. The children tack her up and pick her hooves out and always groom her for hours.

Flatwork- she works well in the school and enjoys teaching children to canter.

Jumping- she pops a small jump and is always straight forward and easy. Seen fillers and cross country jumps from ditches to the river to logs.

Shows- she is well mannered and easy to do at a show. Loads with child leading her and great on the lorry can be left.

Hacks- hacks alone in company and is great in traffic and open spaces.

She really is a true favourite here and we can’t wait for her to find a great home and follow her exciting adventures ahead. We are being forced to sell due to a huge financial hit.

  • Perfect family horse in all aspect - lead rein, first pony, second pony or mother/daughter share

Wonderful family horse - she can do it all!

She’s brilliant on the lead rein and currently ridden and handled by our 2 year old proving to be very safe and genuine, yet she is straightforward enough for a young child off the lead wanting to go and have fun - giving mum/dad confidence that she will look after your little one.

She has a good jump and is honest and brave showjumping and XC.

She is also sturdy enough for a small adult to have some fun - she would make a wonderful mother/daughter share.

Absolutely pleasure to have on the yard and will certainly provide a family many year of pleasure.

Incredibly versatile: can go from lead-rein to first ridden and beyond

MOELTRYFAN CHEEKY BOY

Re-advertised as buyer pulled out of sale.
Do not contact me unless you read the advert carefully and are only after an older schoolmaster pony .This sale is difficult enough so don’t waste my time or your time. Mid- high four figures for our beloved pony.

Steady, confidence giving, safe, fun, all rounder - the most loving pony and child’s best friend.

Heartbreaking sale of my son’s best friend-A real life perfect unicorn. Please note Boo is looking for younger children on the lead-rein or older riders that are lightweight. Please read carefully and only contact me if you can fit the criteria as we are wanting the perfect match!
We are looking for a home that can offer him only but the best! We don’t want a competition home every weekend but an all round family home with a varied lifestyle.

• Schoolmaster
• Stunning looks and a beautiful, easy rocking horse canter. He’s steady yet responsive.

Boo enjoyed the show ring before turning his hoof to hunting, pony club and a more all-round life.

We bought Boo to give my son confidence after loosing his nerve with a pony that bucked and reared all the time, he didn’t want to ride anymore and this pony restored his confidence. So much so that he’s now moved onto his next pony which is 14hh.

We don’t want to part with Boo but he’s too lovely and talented to be ridden occasionally and a family pet.

He deserves the best home now and to give a child the joy he’s given us.
Boo has many rosettes , winning many times and trophies . He’s admired wherever we go.

He’s attended PC Camps , numerous rallies and he has competed successfully at lots of local shows and mini ODEs.He has been to many busy hunt meets and hunted with us and his previous home. We've done pc camps, rallies, pc show jumping, cross country, showing, mini one day events, hunting, fun rides, local shows, gymkhanas, village fete pony rides the list is endless!

Boo is a pony club superstar - nothing he has not done. Boo loves jumping and he jumped up to 70cm and 80cm with my son at competitions , alongside winning the Chase Me Charlie at camp jumping 1M.

His only vice is rarely ( once or twice in a year) he’s bucked in an open space
( cantering in field) through excitement. This hasn’t bothered or worried my son at all. He would never do this on the lead rein or in the arena - it’s only when the children have moved up to the 2nd type pony.

Hacks alone or in company. Nannies other horses and ponies out hacking. Used to calm and give confidence to others out and about. Totally safe with busy traffic or outside pubs with lots going on.

Boo is kind and gentle on the ground and always handled by children, will stand for hours to be pampered, loves to be groomed and washed. He has the patience of a saint. Amazing manners. He's happy to be groomed, fussed and pampered all day long. I know, I can let my children safely handle him to groom, bath, tack up, rug up, muck out and load.

Boo can be left for weeks without been ridden. He is in at night over the winter and out by day over the spring/summer on restricted grazing. He’s had laminitis once with his previous owners and we have been very strict about his regime and diet. He’s never shown any signs with us.

He's been fully shod due to the terrain where we live and work load and currently just fronts, but can go bare foot depending on work load and terrain. We live on a busy working farm so he's used to big machinery cattle, sheep and noise.

Up to date with all vaccinations. No health issues. Perfect for the vet, farrier, dentist and to clip.

From the stable to out and about, Boo is a joy. His temperament is second to none - loving, gentle, and cheekily charming.
This pony means the world to my son and to us as a family.
This is a very sad and difficult sale, and we are looking for the right home because he's only had 2 homes before us. The previous owners would like updates and to stay in touch. His last owners had Boo for 10 years from lead-rein to 2nd pony, he kept the three girls safe throughout their riding journey so he’s incredibly important to them as well as his first owner and myself.
The ideal home would be an experienced pony club family home with younger siblings looking to ride Boo once he’s outgrown.

Price includes tack and rugs . Strictly no time wasters . Homes will be vetted and please only enquire if you think you might be the next suitable home. Many Thanks.

We have owned Flash for the last 3 years. The time has now come for our unicorn pony to find a new home, where he can be a sash and rosette magnet for his next little jockey. He is such a kind pony, handled by children, loves to be fussed and groomed and always looking to please. He has been the perfect pony for us, 100% home produced and great for a tiny tot. Before Flash, we had never stepped foot in a show ring; we were complete novices and he’s taught us everything!

Excellent to hack on and off the lead rein, used to farm / heavy machinery and great in open spaces.

Flash has a lovely way of going, with beautiful paces, and a soft snaffle mouth. He oozes presence and the judges always love him. He is a true stamp of a show hunter pony. He is excellent at obstacles and not spooky. Doesn't require working in, calmers or earplugs - just a quick leg stretch and into the show ring! He's the perfect showman, collecting many Supremes. Fantastic at stay away shows and travels brilliantly on the lorry on his own.

There is so much more to come from this genuine, fabulous little pony, who has not been over shown (particularly this year as I (Mummy and Leader), had a baby at the start of the season!) Flash is looking for his next new jockey and best friend and has the potential to go all the way.

Daisy is a very sweet, 8 year old, mare.

We have owned Daisy for 4 years and along with showing her inhand we have bred 2 lovely coloured foals off her.

This year we backed daisy Who took to it straight away. She has walked and trotted on the lead rein but no jockey to continue her work. I have no doubt that Daisy will be easy to carry on her education off the lead.

Daisy qualified for STARS in 2022 in 2 classes but unfortunately due to having a foal at foot, wasn’t able to compete at the final.

We feel Daisy needs to go on and do a job and could excel in the junior ridden coloured classes.

Alternatively Daisy would be a fantastic broodmare. She has covered and foaled easy both times, she is an excellent mother and breeds lovely small foals.

Not available until after STARs

We bought Millie as a pony club pony, and she has been to all pony club events, shows, dressage, ODE and games. She would make a great games pony for a confident rider as she can take the leg up well and is not fazed by the games equipment in anyway. She can however get a little excitable in a fast paced games environment.

She has been on loan over the last year to a riding school where she was also used for RDA work. Most recently she has been on loan to a family with young children where she was used for lead rein hacks. References are available from both these loans if required.

Millie is now for sale as she needs to find a family to love her as she really enjoys being a family pony.

She is good with vet/farrier/clip/load/hack alone can live out 24/7 and is very easy to keep clean.

Millie can also be driven.

Millie is not a first ridden pony as she can buck when first asked to canter.

Rodney - 12.3hh 11 year old cob blue and white gelding.

Smart little clipped cob absolute confidence giver and chilled dude. With us he has been hunting, arena hires, miles of hacking and jumping.

He’s a really smart little pony with nice paces and has a sweet jump. He will pop a small cross for a nervous child but also be more forward and really jump for more confident riders ! He has got my son’s confidence back after he fell a few years ago and totally stopped riding.

He’s perfect if you need a slow mo pony to gain confidence particularly out hunting and hacking. He wont get excited if other ponies misbehave! Snaffle mouth not strong and doesn’t do any of the naughty head pulling down etc that some ponies do.

A group can move off and he doesn’t chase other horses he just stays, very well mannered, he . He will plod around and is a leg on ride however out hacking and hunting he keeps up with the others. Totally bombproof with drones, tractors, turkeys, sheep, cows, dogs… he is fab!

Rodney is very easy going and easy to have around on the yard, totally manageable for children he’s very polite. He is quite a shy pony, not bolshy or rude. He has no vices, great health and no CPL/feather issues. Up to date with vaccinations, recently had teeth done. He is barefoot and has good feet.

His tack & rugs are available

DO YOU HAVE A HORSE OR PONY SUITABLE FOR THE RDA?

WANTED ON LONG TERM LOAN / PURCHASE

Ref #: 249896
  • If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below
  • If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below

One of the main issues that RDA groups face is finding an Equine to suit the needs of the participants in their group.

We are regularly contacted with offers of Equines that are ‘the ideal RDA horse or pony’ when actually what is ideal for one group may not be for the next. We are trying to move away from the stereotypical view that RDA Equines are elderly and somewhat static, our horses and ponies need to be fit, healthy and athletic to cope with the lifestyle in an RDA group.

They can range from smaller, forward going ponies to weight carrying cobs and can take part in a range of disciplines from Riding to Carriage Driving, Vaulting to Show Jumping and Endurance.

If you contact an RDA Group about your Equine please be prepared to fill in an Equine Initial Interest Form which will ask you many questions about your horses’ temperament, health history, experience and lifestyle. Many groups will prefer to have an equine on trial to make sure they are suitable for the job.

For long term loans and purchases they will also be required to have a Pre-Purchase Examination.

If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below.

Experienced all round family pony that can do a number of jobs from lead rein and first ridden through to second pony. She’s sensible but forward and a fun ride. Currently ridden by my 5yr old off the lead rein including in lots of open spaces including XC (see videos) and my 4yr old on and off the lead rein. Whilst she’s small she’s also very substantial and so I have also ridden her (lightweight 5’2).

Suitable for PC, hacking, games, showjumping, showing, eventing, working hunter (1st, 2nd and Reserve Champion last time out). She will turn her hoof to most things!

Used in a riding school for years including RDA. The riding school closed down which is the only reason why she was sold.

Easy person to look after - currently out 24/7 with or without company. Barefoot. Up to date with teeth, vaccinations, worm counts and just fed a balancer once a day. I’ll start to give her some hay outside shortly.

Comes with tack and rugs.

LEAD REIN, SHOW PONY OR SMALL ADULTS SUPERSTAR

This pony can sort of do it all - so depending on what you are looking for he may be just what you need.

Stable name: Prince
Passport name: Chanwin Celtic Garland
Sire: Millcroft Beluga (by Millcroft / Royal Lustre x Thornwood Royalist)
Dam: Hilin Garland (by top sire Hilin Carnedd, a Royal Welsh champion and WPCS sire-ratings winner)

Very quiet and needs lots of kicking so either suited to a lead rein OR a stronger more competitive rider as he has the ability but you have to MAKE him work.

Very safe and reliable, does not buck or rear. Happily wobbles about in trot round the fields, out hacking all day long - if out in open space could race another pony in canter.

Very slow and steady in the arena - great to teach someone to canter on, goes like a rocking horse.

Lovely jump and lots of ability. Current owner tried to take BS and whilst he has all the ability she doesn't have the strength to get results.

Would do a fabulous dressage test for a stronger rider & I believe he would be excellent for a showing home.

If you're little and you don't want to kick he's not for you! If you're a light adult and want a flashy pony I find him very easy but you need to ride effectively and not bang and kick about to bring out his best.

Based at Queenz Equestrian. Was previously owned by Queenz, client purchased him and kept him at Queenz, rider now moving on to BS pony with more experience.

Bella is the most genuine, easiest pony I have ever had.

We backed her in April and she took the riding job like a duck to water.

Handled and ridden by all three of my kids, she's only for sale as my daughter is now out of class, and my sons are still technically in lead rein.

Hacks out for miles, on her own and in company.

Been to busy sessions at Pony club and just gets on with it.

Did a whole week at the summer champs with lots of top placings, and was a dream to have there.

Lots of wins and placings at county level shows.

easy to load, catch, lives with mares and geldings, stands on lorry by herself.

Bella is a calm, quiet pony, she doesn't need lunging, plugs, or hours of working in, just pop on and go.

Recently been to showing clinics with my 8 year old, where he hadnt a clue what he was doing, but the pony looked after him.

Safe in open spaces, good in traffic, has seen a few jumps, obviously green but willing.

been to local dressage and got placed with good scores against some top local dressage divas.

A really reluctant sale and if I had the space, I would breed from her until my sons were ready, but I haven't and I don't want her being wasted.

Would really suit a good amateur's home or professional to bring out next season all guns blazing!!

Lots of videos and pictures on request
