  • Must be established schooling, jumping and hacking
  • Kind and genuine child’s best friend
  • Very knowledgeable, kind private home

We are looking for a pony for my petite eight year old daughter that she can progress from just off the lead rein to eventually doing Cradle Stakes WHP.

The pony needs to be absolutely genuine and a true child’s best friend.

My daughter is very gentle and kind with all animals and we want a pony that will in turn be gentle with her. She is very nervous at present so the pony needs to be established and balanced in all paces and jumping, go steady away off little legs but not run into the hand.

We show, but are also very active members of Pony Club so a pony that enjoys variety and can keep a level head when out and about.

Fully sound in wind and limb, no laminitis, sweet itch or health conditions.

Healthy but not limitless budget.

  • Approximately 122cm (12hh), mare or gelding, any breed or type considered

This is an UNUSUAL opportunity to purchase a top quality very eye catching 6yo dun mare- ready to go on!.

Ardmore Ban is a Class 1 Connemara mare by Gwennic De Goariva, a much admired pony with a very bright and exciting future. Her impeccable breeding shines through in her attitude, conformation, temperament and performance.

She shows well- balanced, straight paces, and is always keen to learn more. Recently ridden by very diverse riders: By novices- Children and Adult- to help progress their riding, to experienced riders for XC and more technical schooling. All "taken in her stride"-so to say. She is well behaved in open spaces, and with or without company, she has seen fillers, been through deep water with ease, and jumped coloured showjump courses, as well as XC schooling.

She is good to catch, bath, trim, load and travel, is snaffle mouthed and excellent with the farrier and vet etc. She has no vices or issues to our knowledge. Only offered for sale due to her senior lady owner being unable to continue riding on medical grounds.

She would suit an experienced rider, family share, or novice rider with suitably experienced support and facilities.

More videos or photos available upon request (or google “Ardmore Ban”).

Covid purchase! Stunning 4yr old Connemara bay gelding

Unseen project for myself bought from Ireland from a video and arrived a hand under advertised and therefore very sadly too small for me to ride and has been a project for my 11 yr old daughter who has broken and ridden him away all by herself but we don’t need two ponies the same breed and size.

Sweet pony, complete saint out hacking alone or in company goes first or last nothing bothers him doesn’t bat an eyelid.

Doesn’t hot up or get excited. Snaffle mouth never strong or silly goes in a natural outline.

Has started jumping logs and been WH training taking it all in his stride and loving it. Been to the beach where he behaved impeccably with other ponies going away from them and coming back no sillyness.

Great in heaviest of traffic, box, shoe, clip.

Laid back attitude and lovely on the ground. A complete softie.

Listens to your voice and will stop with a “whoa”. Completely handled by my daughter never been sat on by anyone else.

Very friendly and affectionate boy loves attention. Would stand tied up all day being fussed over. Ready to be brought on to the next level. Just started school work and has lovely paces. Would do any job completely versatile pony.

No vices - Completely clean limbed - No sarcoids.

Great to box, travel, shoe, have trimmed his head with so fine with clippers and he just stands. There’s nothing much phases this boy.

  • Connemara Gelding by Kingstown Cavalier
  • Potential Top Eventing/ Show Jumping Pony.
  • Straightforward and easy to do in every way.

King is a very striking 148 Connemara gelding by Kingstown Cavalier; dam sire Andy’s Pride. This well bred 6 year old is proving very talented and definitely a future star.

King is a straightforward easy pony and snaffle mouth for all disciplines.

Easy to do: tack up, wash, catch, clip, load, travel, shoe etc.

He has show jumped, evented, done working hunter, dressage, pony club rallies and clinics. Everything we have asked of him he has taken in his stride.

As a jumper king is careful, brave, super technique and Extremely Honest.

King has placed in every working hunter show entered as a 4 and 5 year old, qualified for the (NI) festival and has been reserve champion.

He has been lightly show jumped at 90cm, schooling much higher at home.

King has excelled at eventing, in the 2 shows he competed in as a 5 year old he was double clear inside the time. Finishing on his dressage score. He jumps everything put in front of him, never stops.

In the Connemara performance hunter Dublin qualifiers he was clear inside the time over a technical track.

He completed an online dressage league recently were he finished 4th and had a win in his final test with a 74.5. All his scores were 70+.

King is now ready to affiliate eventing or show jumping and has a very bright future ahead of him.

He is suitable for a competition or pony club home due to his natural ability and his easy nature.

He is still young so an experienced home is essential to allow him to reach his full potential.

This is a very sad sale of a much loved pony.

8yr old class 1 registered Connemara by the prolific I love you melody. He is Dapple grey.

Frankie is a great stamp of a Connemara he is a traditional chunky type which are hard to find. He has lots of presence and has great movement to match.

Frankie is a lovely natured pony with lots of love to give, nice to handle on the ground.

Frankie has been with us for nearly two years. I feel that Frankie would be suited better to a non jumping home as this is not his strong point despite us trying to give him as much experience as possible he’s just not gutsy enough. Show jumps well at home but wants to look at everything away from home

He is a switched on clever pony and is a future star in whatever he does.

Frankie has the potential to become a top class ridden pony or a future dressage diva.

Frankie has excellent schooling and loves a challenge! He has been ridden by my very capable 14yr old but her younger 10yr old sister has also ridden him in the school with ease.

Frankie has been to a number of different schooling venues and has been out to some local dressage which he placed well in.

Frankie is good with the farrier, dentist and to clip. Up to date with teeth and vaccinations. No lumps bumps or vices.

I love you melody

Available on behalf of clients Witko Countryman or 'Clancy' is a well bred section B who will measure a full up 128cms (he is only just over with shoes on)

Clancy was broken by us in January of this year and he's an absolute star. Learns very quickly, no vices.

Brilliant to do in all ways. Hacks alone and in company and in open fields. Schools well on the flat and extremely bold and scopey jumping.

He is very forward thinking, not strong or sharp but always forward so hes looking for an ambitious home for PC, show jumping, workers, games...he will turn his hand to anything and he has unlimited potential including going up the levels 128 SJ.

Clancy has been out schooling now a handful of times, over a full course of fences and XC Schooling.

He is so bold and brave. He is forward but not strong and enthusiastic but not at all silly.

I am always so impressed with him. We have taken him to his very first show, in the deep end for a full worker course (photo) and he just loved it.

He is green but not phased at all and his potential is easy to see. I have borrowed jockeys for him and he has been ridden by a friend's novice grandchild who is only just learning to canter.

Clancy has proven his temperament by adjusting to his jockey, being careful and steady for little ones and more forward and bold for older riders. I can't speak highly enough of this pony.

He was bold and jumped all the new fences first time. He is friendly and loves attention.

There are plenty of photos and videos on our facebook page 'Playn Acre Farm Show Team' and you don't need to be a member to view them. I cannot email these due to file size. Home is priority, a long term home.

Very sad sale of much loved pony. We have owned Bea for 4 years and in that time she has taught both our boys to ride. She is exceptionally well bred out of Shilstone Rocks Atlantic Wind by Springwater Nijinsky (Vean / Moortown bloodlines).

Bea goes on and off the lead and has four established paces. She is schooled professionally twice a week by a lightweight adult. She is the ultimate performance pony for a competent rider, is well schooled so would excel dressage and eats cross country for breakfast. I am certain she would love to hunt.

We have used her in moderation at county level (lead rein), only because we have boys and they won't stand all day in big classes waiting for their turn.

She qualified for the NPS champs this year (lead rein) and for two years in a row - Novice Ridden (we didn't take her).

She is always highly placed (top two) at local level and often in good company. I would put the smallest person on her on the lead, all day, every day. She knows her job and goes to the voice.

Bea loves to jump and we have introduced her to WHP. I feel sure that in the right hands, she would have huge potential in the HOYs WHP classes.

She has won WHP lead rein classes with the boys. She is fast against the clock and has done some show jumping but will require more schooling. She can jump a course of jumps at 70cm easily and with a more experienced rider she has jumped 90 (but needed helping round).

This year our games pony was out of action and Bea had to step in (lead rein) and loved it, she is not afraid of any of the equipment.

My eldest son has won prolifically with her in Young Handler classes and she has been a regular at pony club rallies and camp.

As an example of her versatility we took her to a show last year and she won M and M Small Breeds (In Hand) and went Champion M and M in hand. She won the ridden M and M small breeds. Went clear in the WHP clear round jumping, came second in a huge class (young handler), second in the lead rein, and then competed in the gymkhana and secured numerous wins.

She loves hacking and will go first or last. She will hack through water (we have a number of fords to navigate). She is super with traffic and I would put the smallest child on her on the lead to hack around the block and know she would look after them.

She is not moody and is a kind gentle soul to handle on the ground. She has never been fed by hand and has fabulous manners. She will stand all day on the yard to be groomed.

She has never had laminitis, EMS.

Bea is a big pony, she is forwards and responsive off the leg. She enjoys her work and thrives on it.

She is only for sale as we are overstocked and cannot give her the work she needs to maintain consistency for first ridden.

She can be sharp which is why I am advertising her as a lead rein / performance pony for a more confident rider. She can be strong in canter / coming into a jump.

Having said all this, you will see from the video that both my boys ride her off the lead, however I am careful what situations I put them in. She is more reliable the more work she does. As a lead rein, I cannot fault her - she has been amazing and deserves to be someone else's number one as she is wasted here.

So in summary - wonderful lead rein. Huge potential as a performance pony for a confident lightweight rider, but not a genuine first ridden.

Please no texts - if you are serious about this special pony, then please call. We are away in the UK for a couple of weeks so she can be seen and tried with a friend (Bedfordshire). We will require references and would like first refusal on her in the future. Her tack is available separately.

Please note that if she is not sold, we will do WHP HOYs classes next year so we have time to find this pony a very special home

Would suit competent teenager or small adult.

After 2 years, it is time for us to say goodbye to the lovely Scooby. He was bought for our daughter - 13 at the time - and has taught her to become the confident jockey she now is, and is now sadly outgrown.

He has been a versatile pony competing in showing, WHP, arena eventing, dressage, and Pony Club activities. Scooby has gone to many 'stay away' shows, always behaving well and enjoying new and exciting environments. He regularly competed throughout last season, always coming home with a rosette! He is a quality and very well-bred Section C and has been well placed in flat classes and was Best Newcomer in the South East Welsh Pony and Cob Association (SEWPCA) annual awards 2019. He has been to pony club camp, many rallies and clinics involving cross country and showjumping - he is good in open spaces and with others.

Our daughter has brought Scooby on from having done no dressage, to competing in Pony Club and British Dressage Novice with regular scores of high 60s to mid 70s. They were selected for Pony Club and Adult Riding Club dressage teams last year and won local prelim and novice junior trophies. He has qualified for two years running for the NPS dressage championships. As a 6 year old, he was regularly placed and won 133cm M&M WHP classes and has competed in arena eventing, qualifying for the Sunshine Tour championships in both dressage and arena eventing.

Scooby is a fun and much loved family pony and came on holiday with us to the mountains and the beach. He has been kept fit by mum in the winter. While he is not sharp off the leg, he is a performance pony and would best suiting an older child/young teenager as a second pony. He lives alone currently, but doesn't mind company, and is best suited to all-year turnout. He comes after you to be caught, travels on a trailer or box, often goes to sleep being clipped, pulled, washed, and show. He is happy to hack out on busy Essex roads without company.

His full history from a foal is known and we are in touch with former owners and breeder. He is sold with a WHP saddle and grackle bridle.

Maggie is a beautifully bred, genuine pony with the kindest nature. She is not at all mareish, oozes quality and prescence

She has three rhythmic, straight paces, balanced and up hill. She has good basic education and has started lateral work

She has consistantly won and placed unaffiliated dressage, qualified for a Winter Championships and would easily BD

We couldn’t ask for a more genuine pony out hunting and she loves it! Stands at the meet, mannerly, sensible and hunts in a snaffle

She is clever and has crossed a variety of country with confidence inc ditches, trappy fences and hedge country

She has been placed combined training, SJ and has been XC schooled

Adorable to do with in every way and sensible to hack. She is entered up for events in the coming weeks and is very much ready to progress

Maggie is a great all rounder but would excel WHP, Hunting home, BD, grassroots event potential
