Louie, 9 yo 11.3 section A gelding

Louie has spent the whole summer doing lots of lead rein with my 5 yo ( who was fairly wobbly in the beginning which he did not mind! ). We’ve always come back with rosettes from Lead rein show pony, M and M, mini jumping , LR workers , handy pony and minion fancy dress! He’s also ridden him in walk and trot off the lead up the lanes. Sadly he isn’t interested enough to justify keeping him for the winter and we have very little land and homebreds to come in.

Recently qualified for TSR amateur of the year show in the LR show Pony. Has been well behaved to take out everywhere.

Off the lead rein he has mainly been ridden and schooled by small nanny and recently been ridden a couple of times in the area/fields by a competent 9 yo girl. Not been ridden off the lead with tiny tots hence not advertised as a first pony but may well be In 6 months time if an older sibling/small adult carried on his production.

Came to us earlier in the year very well fed and looked after but low mileage for his age so not the finished article but a lot of pony for the money. Never done anything nasty or unpredictable,straight and genuine.

Had a super step and jump .. potentially could make a top class cradle stakes worker with a little more mileage.

No vices, kind genuine pony. Vaccinated. Clipped him a week ago with no sedation.

Good with farrier / loads well etc . Travels in trailer and lorry. Typical Welsh can be a bit pushy if allowed but no malice in him. My 5 yo leads/loads/handles him etc. Forward responsive pony on and off the lead rein , not a plod but not strong.

Woodrow March Past - aka Paddy!

Paddy has been the perfect step up for my nervous daughter but is now sadly prematurely outgrown.

Paddy has been successfully shown and has previously been to HOYS placing 3rd in New Forest class so is very true to type.

In the past 2 years Paddy has stepped back from high level showing due to my daughter not wanting to go down that path, instead he’s had a varied life from dressage, novice workers, jumping upto 60/70, local showing, xc, arena hires etc.

He can be more woah than go but will step up if asked.

Ballylee Thunderstorm (Bill) is 10 years old, has been with us since he was 4 and we've known him from an unbacked 3 y/o. He is a 14hh Connemara gelding.

He is a very special pony who our daughter has now sadly outgrown. Bill has many qualities and is ready for lots of fun adventures with a new family.

He is a brilliant all round Pony Club pony who is regularly out training and competing and is suited to a confident, competent rider as a second pony.

Bill is a lovely family pony who will stand all day to be fussed, hacks out in company or alone, is great for the farrier, easy to clip and loads & travels well.

He is happy to stand at events and is a pleasure to take out and about and at stay aways and camps.

He enjoys his jumping where he recently did a lovely clear in the 80cm SJ at Pony Club Regional Championships, helping his team to place.

Bill has trained around 90cm and shows scope to progress here.

Bill has trail hunted in the past and also enjoys fun rides, he finds group situations fun and can step it up a gear.

He would make a fabulous 14hh WHP - they made their debut at our County Show where they were placed, but this just isn't something we have pursued.

He is up to date with vaccinations, has never been sick or sorry and has also had routine back and teeth done.

This is a heartbreaking sale of our beautiful Theo as my daughter won’t stop growing after 3 wonderful years together. I was hoping my son would take over the reins but he would like to focus more on show jumping, so we are looking for a 128cm pony.

Theo has been the pony that has first introduced my daughter to the affiliated circuit. Although he has had a very successful career as a SHP we feel he particularly enjoys working hunter classes and would be well suited to someone wanting to pursue the Cradle and Junior 122cm workers classes.

At home, Theo is a kind, affectionate pony who enjoys attention. He has been ridden by both my children since they were 7 and 8 years old. He is not a First-year First Ridden and is best suited to a confident child who can make the most of his experience and ability.

Theo absolutely thrives off jumping and loves his job, he is brave and so willing and has been a pleasure to have over the last 3 years! When he is jumping he requires no plugs or calmers, with little to no working in, even at busy venues.

Kilnstown Foxglove 9yr old Buckskin Welsh A mare.

This hasn’t been an easy decision but with the loss of my horse and my 4 yr old child not being interested it is time to look for a new home for her.

She is a cracking little pony, who I am reluctant to let go. She takes a little time to trust, but once she does she becomes the sweetest little thing. But until then you will get the mare stare.

We have been out lead rein showing, working hunter, showjumping all season and to an xc course and hired off road hacking.

She always places and is foot perfect at shows, I take her solo and she is amazing. Stands on the trailer perfect and ties up next to it with no bother, I don’t need to think about her when dealing with my daughter. Loads every time, occasionally takes a few minutes but normally walks straight on.

When my little one loses her balance she will throw her head up and slow straight down, when she fell off she then did the slowest smoothest trot ever and wouldn’t speed up till she knew she had balance again.

She has been out off the lead rein with the local hunt, she was happy to sit at the back and walk trot, canter as needed. But doesn’t like being in the mix, she has to sit on the outskirts.

We have been off road hacking with me riding and she was happy to follow another horse, but won’t take the lead mostly due to lack of experience as I have only used her as a lead rein pony.

She has been on the lead rein around xc courses, done a few small logs she just has to look at them first.

Hundreds of photos of my child riding bareback, hands in the air singing, in dresses, carrying a teddy and just being a 4 yr old!

If something truly scares her and she has a child on board she freezes and won’t budge, the 2 times this has happened i took the child off walked her past it and let her spook and that was it done! Chucked the child back on and carried on, never spooked at again!

Bad points - she is sassy, if you want a pony your little one can run up and hug she probably isn’t for you, she tolerates it but isn’t keen! But saying that as she bonded with my little one she got better, I have pictures of her being led by my child however my child isn’t at the yard enough and doesn’t spend any time with her. But with older kids she is always happy to give attention, but tells them when she is done. I don’t think she ever be a 24-7 cuddly pony, but she will on her terms.

She doesn’t lunge, she hates it I don’t know what has happened but she doesn’t lunge. She was getting better but lack of time has stopped me lunging.

She doesn’t like horses up her bum, she has kicked once, I put a red ribbon on and don’t put her in the scenario of horse up her bum. Never kicked with little one on, but equally she is a sassy Welsh buckskin mare!

She has been lead off a really chilled out gelding and was perfect, but we have only tried this once with no rider.

Traffic - yard traffic absolutely fine, I have lead her down a busy road in company and she was fine with no rider but I cannot say she is 100% as I don’t have anyone to take her out with and the roads are ridiculous by us so I won’t put anyone at risk.

She has done off the lead rein with an older rider, she can be stubborn but goes nice when ridden off the lead regularly. But she is a true lead rein in the sense ahead looks for her leader, it’s her safe place, but she will step up to assisted.
