Something I never thought I would be writing…

I have owned Blondie since he was a foal, and he has given me some of my proudest moments, biggest wins and most treasured memories. He has been such a huge part of my life, which makes writing this incredibly difficult.

However, being completely selfless and putting Blondie first, I feel that at this stage of his life he deserves the opportunity to experience more of life outside of the show ring. I truly believe he could be a competent teenager’s or small adult’s dream all-rounder.

Blondie has had an incredibly successful career as a ridden Section B, competing at Horse of the Year Show and winning at numerous major championship shows including the ridden championship at The Royal Welsh show. He is still more than capable of continuing to show at this level should his new rider wish to do so, but equally, there is so much more I feel he could turn his hoof to and in all honestly I don’t feel that Blondie enjoys going to the shows like he used to.

He loves getting out and about, whether that’s hacking, trips to the beach or fun rides. He has a great pop in him and would be enormous fun cross-country or WHP with more training - I could see him thoroughly enjoying all Pony Club activities, and with the education and schooling he already has, I also think he could make a really lovely dressage pony.

Blondie is extremely well schooled, responsive and a lovely ride. He wouldn’t be suitable for a complete novice simply because he is an educated pony who deserves a rider who can appreciate what he has been taught. Equally, I think he could be an incredible pony for a competent teenager wanting to improve their riding, learn more and progress together. He has so much to teach and so much still to give.

He is easy to care for and an absolute pleasure to have around, he is upto date with his vaccinations, dentist and physio. He is great to catch, bath, trim, groom, tack up, mount, load and travel (although he is much better standing on the lorry with company as he can stamp and paw if left alone for long periods) that said he can be pacified with techniques I have learnt over the many years of owning him 😄

Above everything, the home is my priority.

I would love to find someone who will give Blondie the varied, fun life I feel he now deserves—Pony Club, dressage, jumping, cross-country, hacking, beach rides, the odd show or hopefully a wonderful mixture of it all.

There is absolutely no pressure for Blondie to go anywhere. He has a home with me for life and will stay here forever if the right person doesn’t come along. This is purely about him and finding that very special person who can give him the next chapter I feel he deserves.

Teddy is a 15hh, 6-year-old Connemara gelding by Tempo Active Atlas. He is a traditional stamp, plenty of bone and is a very talented, forward-going competition horse with lots of potential for the future.

Teddy has been with me for the past two years, during the time he has a little bit of everything and has proven himself to be a genuine, willing and versatile horse.

He has successfully competed in Dressage, consistently placed at every outing, including qualifying for the Riding Club Dressage Championship. He has lots of potential to progress further within Dressage with three balanced, eye-catching paces and a willing, trainable attitude.

He has also successfully competed in Show Jumping and Working Hunter. He is still greener in his show jumping due to having had less experience, but he has plenty of scope, is brave to a fence and has a great attitude towards his jumping.

He has been XC Schooling where he happily jumped ditches, tyres, etc.

Hacks alone or in company, has been on the Sugar Loaf Mountain. Travels alone or in company. Lives on a busy farm, used to heavy machinery and children with toys, balls and bikes!

Up to date with vaccinations and teeth. Gentleman to handle, handled by a 6-year-old. Easy to catch, clip, etc.

Teddy is not suitable for a novice rider. He is a forward-going, talented competition horse who would suit a confident, experienced rider looking for a horse with potential to progress and compete successfully across a number of disciplines.

This really is the most difficult decision and one I have not taken lightly. Teddy has so much to offer the right person, and I would love to see him continue his education and reach his full potential.

We have owned Magic for nearly 4 years, but he has been on our livery yard over 7 and he has become a yard favourite.

He is good to catch, up to date with vaccinations, worming and dentist. He is barefoot, good to load and will stand happily on a box all day if needed. He currently loads on a 3.5 ton but has travelled on a trailer in the past. We do have Magic sedated for clipping and the dentist as he does get stressed with the noise. His ground and stable manners are impeccable and he will stand for the smallest of children to groom him.

We are on a busy livery yard and nothing phases him... from farm machinery, to dogs, goats and chickens. Since owning Magic he has lived in and out happily in a mixed herd and he likes to befriend a mare. He has never bucked or reared, hacks alone and in company. He can be speedy but has breaks and is very safe. snaffle mouthed. Never sick or sorry. He really is a mothers dream!

Now for the fun stuff....

Over the years Magic has done a verity of disciplines and has taken my daughter from jumping 40cm to winning at 80. Magic will step up or down for his jockey and has done lead-rein showing with his previous owner. He is a speedy nimble jumping pony that suits heights around 60/70cm. He is not a first pony due to his speed and the fact he takes his confidence from his rider, but with the right little jockey, Magic will excel.

Since owning Magic he has been overall season champion at local grass roots level in classes such as working hunter and showjumping. Winning my daughter uncountable rosettes and trophies. He has become a true PC allrounder that has turned his hoof to new things such as dressage, games, XC, ODE and farm rides.

Last year my daughter and Magic were chosen to represent our Pony Club at the Osberton horse trials team jumping and they placed 2nd in a very competitive class. In the same year they won, The Nottingham County show with Pony Club in the 60cm under 10's category and placed 2nd in the 70cm.

Magic, has done numerous stay away shows such as, Stars and Trailblazers. He behaves impeccably away from home and has always brought back ribbons.

Please don't be put off by Magics age as he is extremely fit and has low milage, as he has only been actively competing at this level since being with us.

Magic is only for sale as my daughter has moved onto something bigger and we don't have the time to give him the commitment he deserves; he is too good to become a field ornament as he loves his job.

Maenaddwyn Kilo-Môn

Kilo was bought out of the field last summer and backed and ridden away this March. His temperament is outstanding and he went to his first show on the lead in April at NPS Spring Festival where he was 2nd and qualified for the Summer champs. He has attended a couple of in hand shows and a total of 5 ridden shows being mostly 1st or second on the lead rein including novice mini champion at NPS area 11. He also completed his first first ridden classes at NPS Summer champs and was very well placed being ridden by an 8 year old who has only ridden him at shows.

Kilo has had an all round education and hacks alone, including cantering on the local downs, clear round jumping and is ridden mainly off the lead rein. He is so easy to do, clip, bath etc with no history of lameness/lami/sweet itch. He loves children and is very sweet and quiet to handle.

At shows kilo has had a little trot on the lunge, a practice with his jockey (who have only been borrowed) and gone straight into the ring. He doesn't need working in and he is generally very laid back.

Kilo has a super jump and has proven brave so he has good potential for WHP. He is still green but he is very willing and with some time spent in a new partnership over winter and in the future he will be equally as good a FR as LR and excel in so many things.

Kilo is looking for an ambitious family home or he is equally good enough for a producers yard. I really think a lot of him and a top home who will love him as much as I do is a priority.

A very reluctant sale of our much-loved Dartmoor gelding, who has been with us for the last 2½ years. He has been produced slowly, sympathetically and correctly, and we feel he is now ready for someone to continue his education and fulfil his huge potential.

He has mainly hacked with us, is ridden weekly by a lightweight professional trainer (approximately 6 stone), and has also been happily ridden by our 9-year-old daughter. Last summer he was regularly schooled in an arena, ridden by a child and has attended a handful of local shows. At his most recent show, the judge described him as “spectacular”, commenting that he simply needed a little more mileage and experience.

He has exceptional Springwater breeding, and has the most beautiful pony head, kind eye and outstanding movement. We genuinely believe he has all the attributes to make a superb showing pony in the right hands.

He is a pleasure to own. Easy to groom, load and handle, he is polite and respectful on the ground with no bargy or pushy behaviour and would also make a fabulous in-hand show pony. He lives happily in a mixed herd, sits comfortably in the middle of the pecking order and has a lovely, kind temperament.

He has never shown any signs of laminitis, has never been footy or lame, and has always been carefully managed. He is up to date with podiatry and annual dentistry and vaccinations, and we have always prioritised his health and wellbeing.

He is still green in his schooling simply because he has been allowed to mature at his own pace rather than being rushed. He is a soft, sensitive boy rather than a cheeky or bolshy pony, and he deserves a rider who can continue to build his confidence and education.

While he has been ridden by our daughter, we would not describe him as a first ridden or one for a tiny child to canter off on independently. We feel he would be best suited to a confident child aged around 10+, a teenager or a small adult who will enjoy producing a quality native pony.

The only reason for this sale is that our daughter has suddenly had a growth spurt and, with him being her third pony, we simply aren’t doing him justice. We would much rather see him in a home where he can continue progressing and be someone’s special pony.
