I am in no rush to sell Derek and am simply testing the market. If the right home doesn’t come along, he will happily remain with me.

Derek is exceptionally well bred, being by the prolific Gwenllan Brynmor and out of Starloch First Lady, who’s by Pennal The Great an equally prolific stallion with multiple championships and titles under his belt. He is truly bred in the purple and offers a fantastic opportunity for both showing and breeding.

Previously driven, although he has not been in harness for several years.

Derek has enjoyed success both in-hand and under saddle. He was backed here as a 7-year-old and attended numerous clinics before beginning his ridden showing career. In his first season under saddle he gained his Picton qualification, and this year has contested a RIHS qualifier. Unfortunately, due to my lack of time, he has not been out to further shows this season.

He is a pleasure to travel, happily loading and travelling alone or in company. Derek has enjoyed numerous beach rides, been to the gallops, and has also had a taste of cross-country, where he popped his first fence and behaved impeccably throughout.

Derek would be a real asset to any stud, being a proven stallion with foals already on the ground, or equally to someone looking to campaign a quality Welsh Cob under saddle and chase the qualifiers.

He is a genuine, versatile horse with a wonderful attitude and is always willing to turn his hoof to anything asked of him.

A very talented & clever pony. Aside of showing he has been out and seen the world, he is always ridden by children, foot perfect in heavy traffic, around tractors & machinery, used to dogs, loves the beach, loves to hack, has done pole clinics, XC, bareback hacks, recently started show jumping and is proving to be bold and brave, nicely forward to a jump, never strong, unfazed by fillers, takes you to every jump with ease, never refuses. He has lots of scope if show jumping was something you wanted to focus on with him.
Has also been XC where he was also very bold and brave to every fence so would make a great working hunter pony.
Would also make an exceptional dressage pony.

He has a very gentle & loving character with both humans and horses.

Sadly outgrown, rider is now moving on to horses.

Beautiful 11.2hh 4 year old palamino gelding. Registered Welsh section a. 4 white socks and 1 blue eye.

Please do not let his age put you off, this pony is a perfect lead rein/ first ridden. He is ridden by both my two girls aged 5 and 7 and I 100% trust him.

He is more woah than go. 100% safe never bucked, reared etc.

Works in a natural outline and has gorgeous floaty paces. He has so much potential in the show ring, we took him showing and he came away with a 1st and 2 seconds.

He has also been to pony club with lots of ponies around and didn’t bat an eye lid.

He will pop a small course of jumps sweetly and is very honest into a jump but he isn’t ever going to be a massive jumper.

He hacks out alone and in company and will go first or last. He will happily canter behind and not get strong or silly. He will also stand and wait whilst other ponies canter ahead. He can also be led off another horse.

He is handled and led around by the children, doesn’t bite or kick.

We have owned Tulip for 2 years and since having her she has been a pleasure to own. My daughter can do everything with her and I know she is safe. Since owning her we haven’t been concentrating fully on showing and she has been used to have fun, cantering through fields, beach rides and hacks.

She will also pop a little fence but this isn’t something we have pursued. She has enjoyed time away from the show ring and is ready to make a come back but due to long legs the picture is gone hence why she needs to find a new jockey.

Currently not in show condition but the basics are there and won’t take much to get her back.
