13.2h 6yrs Gelding. Gypsy Vanner type Coblet. Amazing Kind temperament, cheeky, but impossible not to love.
Moves exceptionally well, with showy paces, keeps a super rhythm, and is very comfortable. Although small he is deep in the girth and takes up the leg easily. would say his comfortable weight limit is around 10 stone
Came to me at 3 yrs old, timid and gangly, and he’s blossomed into the most well meaning Cheerful chap, with a leg at each corner. He has been a companion to my advanced dressage horse who has to live out, but I run a livery yard and he was frequently borrowed by liveries if their horse was alone. He gets on with everyone. I did all the ground work with him, and then relied on smaller jockeys to help when available as I am too heavy! This means his training has been sporadic, but it makes no difference if he’s ridden 5 times a week or one day a month.
He was shown age 4, totally unphased, even when a loose pony was flying around, and the horse next door put its foot through their trailer ramp!! Freddie is inquisitive and trusting. Hacks brilliantly in company, he strides out in front, likes to explore, and walks home quietly. We dont hack alone because its too busy here.
Age 5 he was frequently the demo pony for my long reining training clinics, patiently attentive for hours on end. One day he long reined 8 Pony Club children through a little obstacle course, as obliging with the last one as he was with the first, a proper schoolmaster, he melted my heart. I have loads of video of him, my phone is full! At one of the few shows we managed to run last year he did an intro test in front of a guest judge and scored 72%.
I have mentioned the cheeky side ;-) Please be aware he will tip the wheelbarrow over in the field and think its hilarious. He will untie himself and wander into the tackroom for a look around! He has absolutely got “grandmothers footsteps” worked out and makes me laugh all the time.
He is 6 this year and he really needs to head off to a lovely home that wants to Show, Hack, Trec, Spookbusting, have Fun. He can pop a small jump but he isn’t built for leaving the floor and is quite minimalist in his approach. He will manage one or two but then literally runs out of steam. He has shown more interest in rustic jumps so could imagine a fun ride with some little logs would be his perfect level. He is Not a sporty pony club pony, he is chunky, has lots of hair, and would make a beautiful showing pony. Given his age he still needs help with his schooling so he would benefit from some experienced guidance/lessons to continue educating this cracking little fella. He’s got an active brain, loves a game, and I hope to find him a home which offers that variety, with lots of love. Who knows, you could be showing him at HOYS one year, if it ever runs again!
Barefoot (feet like rocks!), Lives in or out. Can be turned out alone. Can be left in the stable alone. Passported. Microchipped. Clipped. Wormed. Vacs July. Teeth Checked. Used to being bathed (A lot!). Loads and travels no problem.
Lives on fresh air. He’s the first one asking to be caught.
I’m told you can’t buy temperament, well now you can :-)
