- Fab transition from pony to horse. Pyggy is a loyal horse who builds strong bond with her jockey.
Looking for a loving, fun and active home for sweet Pyggy who has never put a hoof wrong. Kindest mare, very safe ride and bomb proof in traffic.
Great balance between confidence giver whilst expecting to be ridden properly. Our daughter has never needed to carry a whip or wear spurs unless Dressage requires it. School master. Pleasure to take anywhere, always a lovely face to see over the stable door.
Ideal home; multiple options!! Pony Club Dream, Riding Club, Tetrathlon, Transition from pony to horse, Mother daughter share, Fun Ride with hacking and local competitions, Up to Medium Dressage with a little reminding or entry level BE whilst she remembers the ropes, then you’ll be away!!
Manners; Impeccable manners in hand. Loyal to her jockey. Sensible in the field. Stands at lorry/trailer for hours. Happy in a herd or grazing with sheep.
Life before us; Pyggy came to us having competed BE100 and schooled to Medium level Dressage. Loved Hunting. We know her breeder and full history so felt lucky to have her.
Life with us; Fab Pony Club ride, a blast of fun for safe hacking, easy to take to competitions and the most satisfying ride when schooling for any discipline. Level headed. Happy in group rallies, Residential Camps, Slip Collecting, Fun Rides. Never nappy. Always used as the nanny for other riders to follow over XC jumps at PC rallies and Camps. Competed her unaffiliated for SJ, Eventing, Eventer Challenges and Hunter Trials - fun, fun, fun. Mainly clear, often placed and only the rare occasion of rider error lets her down.
My daughter is not hugely competitive so likes to maximise time in the saddle rather then a few minutes of competition. Their joint passion is XC, we have invested oodles of time schooling many XC courses across Gloucestershire, Somerset and Wiltshire. My daughter hacks out alone in open fields or will go off for hours with friends taking advantage of local Badminton Estate.Pyggy is never wired.
We are considered with training/hacks/travel/competitions to ensure not overworked. Pyggy is hacked out 4/5 times a week depending on lessons which are weekly, with amazing trainers (happy for you to contact).
Ability; Easily 80cm/90cm across disciplines capable of more. Schools at 1m/1m10 at a breeze. Pyggy is brave XC. Dressage is not my daughter’s first love but Pyggy was schooled to Medium, she will just need to be reminded. Lovely paces and can look swanky.
Traffic/Hacking; Bomb proof in traffic along busy main roads and narrow country lanes. Handles farm machinery, rattling trailers, cyclists, unexpected pheasants and live stock in fields. Hacks alone or in company. Easy to dismount and mount for very tricky gates.
Travel; Loads and travels easily in a trailer and Lorry, on her own or in company. Never rudely pushing and happily stands for hours.
Clipping; 11yrs old daughter used her as her clipping guinea pig to teach herself the skill and has continued clipping with no problems.
Farrier; Stands politely. Every 6 weeks.
Health; Fortunately she has never been sick or sorry. Regular physio and teeth due to good husbandry.
Stabling; Safe as houses in the stable. Safe manoeuvring around her when rugging, skipping out, hoof picking and grooming. Never the trouble maker in a herd, will keep herself to herself and is respectful of electric tape and fences- she stays where you put her!
Our first few months with Pyggy; My daughter was 11yrs old so at first Pyggy felt strong and like any 11yr old rider had to learn how to collect the energy and not allow a horse to run away with her. Pyggy was a great transition from 13hh pony to a horse. Pyggy was a safe way to learn riding a mare. Pyggy graciously taught my dsughter how to handle a horse in hand. Pyggy had only travelled in a lorry and therefore had to master Trailer travel which she became accustomed to, we with all our horses, drive her carefully. She has given us the best 4 years. This is a very sad sale.
Pyggy is a loyal horse who builds a strong bond with her jockey, we would expect any new owner to give Pyggy the time to develop this unwavering bond.
No loans. For sale only.
