  • Henry is a wonder cob ! He’ll turn his hooves to anything !

His a good looking chap with a real leg in each corner he takes up leg well ! He isn’t heavy his quiet sporty for his type you could take his feathers off if you wish to give him an even more sporty look.

He will take absolutely anyone to ride from your granma to a novice to someone more thrill seeking.

He is not lazy nice and forward without been silly buzzy or sharp.

Snaffle mouthed he hasn’t done huge amounts of schooling but is balanced and walk trot canter transitions are great he could work abit rounder.

We took him Arena eventing schooling SJ & XC he skipped round like he had lived there all his life !! He is so straightforward it’s untrue !!

In Ireland he was with a family I know, where he hunted occasionally over the past season been used for any member of the family old or young to go out and join in with the local hunt, Around this he has been used as a leisure horse for the family hacking mainly and do forest rides etc..

He is just a total dude he hacks alone or company.

Does everything with a smile on his face lovely to be around. Easy to handle needs a best friend to shine and come out in more personality.

Recently taken him out with the ready field blood hounds and he was amzing didn’t got up was in a snaffle all day enjoyable but not strong or silly jumped well waited quad stood like a rock.

This lovely boy passed a 5 stage vetting in May but proved too forward going for his young rider.

Excellent hack alone or in company. Has previously shown, hunted, and done riding club activities.

We have teenagers that love him , but because he is forward going he is not for a first horse , or nervous rider.

Loves attention, settled very well here .

We don’t do three year old horses often but when we do it’s because we love them!

Approx 15.1 ID x cob by Purple Lad gelding breeding recorded.

Naturally very quiet gelding, broken and riding away hacking out and very sensible head on young shoulders. Ridden by a young girl. Not a spooky sort and never shown and bucking, rearing napping: carefully produced so far.

Beautiful nature idea for a family, very manageable and kind.

A rare cob to find and suit many disciplines, would make a super show cob.

Open to vet, transport can be arranged

  • Between 7 and 14 years. No bucking, bolting or rearing, established flatwork
  • Preferably Gelding

I am looking for a safe and sensible native/lightweight cob after losing my Welsh D recently. Although I have owned a horse for the last 15 years I would not class myself as experienced and have confidence issues especially since breaking a couple of vertabrae after a fall.

I am looking for that special pony who you would classify as anyone's ride! Would be mainly used for schooling ( unaffiliated dressage), very little jumping, if any?, hacking through open fields and roads.

No bolters/rearers/buckers and must be able to hack alone as well as in company. Would like something nicely forward, not green and happy to school as well as hack. Would be kept at livery with excellent facilities, including indoors schools, outdoor schools, miles of off road hacking etc.

Willing to travel within 100 miles of Skipton, North Yorkshire

Perfect 15h 1st horse/ pony for Christmas! Shambo Boy is looking for a new home ??.. fantastic bombproof 7 year old cob, very easy to look after, personality to die for, loves attention, can jump but isn’t hugely competitive, extremely safe and a calm legend out hunting and hacking alone or in a group.

Not strong or silly. Been on riding holidays, small shows dressage and jumping, sponsored rides, XC hire, taught kids to ride, is safe enough for anyone to ride. Would make a perfect new best friend for a bit of low level everything.. only being sold as we are focussing on more competitive jumping.

Priced to sell INC all fitted tack! Can be kept a secret for Santa to deliver.. lives in or out.. needs holding for the farrier (only has front shoes) and doesn’t love clipping so we sedate and do it once a year and he’s fine.

Please msg me on 07823 558419 Based Billingshurst, West Sussex

What a cob this boy is, a true credit to the breed! Meet Nico! 14.3hh, 5yo, Irish cob
Well put together , excellent stamp , and certainly a beautiful model. A real stand out from the crowd type, although we try and play this down to him because he doesn’t need his ego stroking , he’s got plenty of infectious character about him!

Nico is a real kind and genuine boy to do everything with on the ground. He was super easy to clip, good for the farrier, loads and travels well, excellent to catch, good with other horses , easy to handle etc … plenty of lovely things can be said about him by anyone and everyone who is lucky enough to have met him!

Nico isn’t your kick on riding school cob, more of your turbo cob but still a nice leg in each corner type. Works well in the school, starting to understand the contact and work round. He’s a very flashy boy and would love nothing more than the chance to show off in the show ring I’m sure! Nico loves his jumping, really tried hard and is super honest and brave. He’s very much a yard favourite here , I’m always unpopular with the kids on the weekend when allocating their rides if they don’t get him!

We recently took him hunting and LEGEND would have to be the world of choice to describe him!! He’s like an old trustworthy land rover with an excellent four wheel drive! He took us all over the Welsh mountains , through the bog, up the hills, through the water etc etc! He was super. Stood patiently at the meet and loved being the centre of attention being the only one who would do the gates!

Nico is totally sane in the traffic, we’re yet to find something to upset him! He’s forward going in company but just genuinely keen to get in with the adventure that’s all! Can be a little impatient to stand , again nothing silly he’s just making sure you’ve not fallen asleep up there. Sometimes he’s great out hacking alone and sometimes he says ‘no thank you girls, not today, I’ll just stay on my yard where I can see my friends’. When he says no he does throw all the toys out the pram. Nothing that phases me but would probably traumatise a novice! So for that reason our turbo cob who thinks he’s quite the comedian does require someone who can ride and someone that finds him as funny as he thinks he is!

Nico is ride and drive , although the driving side isn’t my thing so I’ve not personally tried him out in cart. I believe this is part of him liking company out hacking as horses that have been blinkered so often take confidence in a lead.

I love this horse, his personality and character are just infectious, never a dull moment and that Winnie he gives me every morning never gets old!! Come and meet him!

  • She is seriously fun and loves to jump, doesn't bat an eyelid at fillers

Pip is a very cool 4yo mare standing at 15hh. She is by a Thoroughbred stallion and out of a cob dam.

Pip has three nice paces and a super bold and careful jump!

She is seriously fun and loves to jump, doesn't bat an eyelid at fillers and although only 4, she would definitely give her rider confidence while jumping!

Has been cross country schooling and again she was extremely honest and straightforward, jumping ditches, steps, into water etc without a problem.

Loads and travels well.

She is good to hack with or without company, although she is green but not silly. She's good with the farrier and was good to clip for her first time!

She has been slowly and carefully produced, she hasn't been hammered hence she is on the green side in her flatwork but has all the ability to be extremely smart.

Been with us since a foal so full history known.

Pip hasn't a bad bone in her body but not a novice ride due to age.

Confidence giving Allrounder wanted

Ref #: 323240

  • 5* home in Oxfordshire waiting

Wanted for a young adult, experienced rider rebuilding confidence after a bad fall:

  • Mare or gelding, 14.2hh - 15.3hh
  • Age range 6-12yo
  • Breeds: adore IDs! But cobs and Connemaras are also welcome. Temperament is paramount.
  • Something sane and safe, no rearing or bucking. Good ground manners, ok to be turned out with geldings and mares.
  • Allrounder- must be ok to hack alone, be good in traffic and open spaces. Needs to school well and pop a small jump (60-70cm max as I’m not a confident jumper). I’m very much a riding school rider and so unable to take on anything green and I’m looking for something that will help me to continue building confidence and improve my skills- that will be forgiving if I get things wrong.
  • Nothing that’s super sensitive and responsive to the aids, I’d rather something that I have to work harder to get going, than something I have to keep trying to stop. I have had an accident with a horse bolting with me so this is really important.

Good budget available and a 5* home in Oxfordshire waiting. Please text/ WhatsApp me if you have something that might be a good match.

Thanks!

DO YOU HAVE A HORSE OR PONY SUITABLE FOR THE RDA?

WANTED ON LONG TERM LOAN / PURCHASE

Ref #: 249896
  • If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below
  • If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below

One of the main issues that RDA groups face is finding an Equine to suit the needs of the participants in their group.

We are regularly contacted with offers of Equines that are ‘the ideal RDA horse or pony’ when actually what is ideal for one group may not be for the next. We are trying to move away from the stereotypical view that RDA Equines are elderly and somewhat static, our horses and ponies need to be fit, healthy and athletic to cope with the lifestyle in an RDA group.

They can range from smaller, forward going ponies to weight carrying cobs and can take part in a range of disciplines from Riding to Carriage Driving, Vaulting to Show Jumping and Endurance.

If you contact an RDA Group about your Equine please be prepared to fill in an Equine Initial Interest Form which will ask you many questions about your horses’ temperament, health history, experience and lifestyle. Many groups will prefer to have an equine on trial to make sure they are suitable for the job.

For long term loans and purchases they will also be required to have a Pre-Purchase Examination.

If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below.

Hughesy has been backed in the spring.

He hacks out alone and in company.

Has been used for shepherding (gathering sheep and cattle off the mountain.)

He has started to jump and I believe he will be a top working hunter for he future .

Hughesy is now ready for you to school on which ever discipline you choose.

Happy to be in the stable or out in the field. (Was living out 24/7 before starting his education.)

Hughesy really is one for the future.

Gorgeous 2018 dun Irish mare standing at a full up 14.3hh. This super girl is a brilliant stamp and model, such a leg in each corner / weight carrier type, with the most sane and sensible head on her.

Buttons is a kind girl, she will stand for hours to be groomed, laid back and easy, she loves people and has the sweetest nature.

She has three established and comfortable paces in the school, she’s super safe, rides off the voice and will put up with someone learning, or a nervous rider, a very genuine mare.

Buttons is wonderful to hack, she is absolutely bombproof in traffic, isn’t bothered by heavy vehicles, chaotic environments, fast moving vehicles etc, she will go in front or behind and is happy to go out alone and in company, a happy hackers dream but enough quality to show.

A beautiful safe girl, hard to find with the same stamp and colour, open to any vet or trainer

We sold this lovely girl in the summer, she’s available due to owners change in personal circumstances and no fault of her own.

Trial period available

He was originally imported from Ireland end of August 2023 and I’ve been producing him since.

He’s riding sweetly on the flat, he has a beautiful trot and is showing a lot of potential on the flat. He’s jumping over small show jumps and cross country fences with ease and is enjoying it. He’s perfect in open spaces on his own or in company, he’s also very good on the roads.

He’s easy to do in all ways and is now ready to find his forever home, I think he’ll make a perfect all rounder for someone wanting a fun little horse.

Russ has a lovely temperament and enjoys his work and attention.

Herbie was originally puchased from me as a just broken 3yo, he’s been in the same home ever since and I’ve had a lot to do with his training in the mean time. I had him for schooling back end of last year to start for this year for 6 months schooling whilst his owners were busy and he was a complete angel and delight to have on the yard and we had so much fun.

Herbie in my eyes is as close to perfection as you’ll ever be able to find, he’s forward yet so sensible, he’s on the button but equally you can just wonder around on a loose rein and I trust him implicitly. He has the most loving temperament and the cutest face!!

Herbie is schooling lovely on the flat, he’s super bold show jumping and cross country, he’s perfect in open fields, hacking, riding with others, staying away from home ect.

Herbie is certainly an all time favourite of mine and who ever is lucky enough to end up with him will have a horse of a lifetime.

Herbie had bilateral neurectomy surgery 8th April 2023 as he had proximal suspensory desmitis. He recovered really well and he’s had a smooth run back into work and has been perfect.

Tack/rugs are included.

A super talented, genuine overgrown Connie. Sleibh has the sweetest/willing temperament that only wants to please.

Sleibh has been out XC schooling where he waited on the lorry patiently and when ridden was calm and approached every jump with old head on young shoulders.

Super brave he had no issues with water, ditches, steps & solids.

Sleibh is also showing his scope & braveness over showjumps with fillers.

We feel he would suit an amateur, small rider or a suitable rider transitioning off ponies.

He has been very easy to do in all ways including the farrier, clipping & loading.

Sleibh is a very quick learner and progressing very fast.

He has hacked out alone & in company and we are happy to help or continue his education for his next purchaser.

Sleibh is a real yard favourite with not a bad word to say about him.

She's a little green in her schooling as she's mainly hacked round the farm in her current home so looking for a home where someone can continue her education. However she's a very quick learner and now happy popping round some small fences. Has had the odd small buck with us when asking for canter when she first arrived but she's getting better each day and there's no malice in it. Not sharp, whizzy or spooky and not strong.

Barefoot, no health issues, no lumps bumps sarcoids, no vices, travels in a trailer. Good in the stable, handled by the girls, good to groom, bath etc

Molly was purchased earlier this year for carriage driving with our RDA Driving group.

She completed all the necessary training but unfortunately is too quick for RDA work.

She has been a pleasure to drive. She lunges and long reins very well, including pole work

She is also being reintroduced to ridden work and is progressing very well, showing a lot of promise now.

She is not for a novice and needs experienced and sympathetic hands.

Molly has a lot of potential but could equally be a fun pony just to hack or drive out.

She has been a wonderful pony to work with , full of character, responsive and good natured.

She is good to handle, shoe, load and travel. Teeth and vaccinations up to date.
