Lottie is a 14.2hh Connemara (we think cross bred) rising 11year old mare. She would be an excellent mother-daughter share / all rounder, just someone looking to do some low level shows or hacking. We bought her as a 4year old and she was an excellent second pony to my 7 and 9 year old children. She would ride on and off the lead and follow my horse.
She’s anyone’s ride in company and will happily follow in the middle or at the back but isn’t keen in leading the group. She hacks alone but needs a more confident rider for reassurance. She has only been hacking alone for two months and has been very quick to progress. She will be hesitant to leave the stables but once she gets going she is fine, I’m sure she will soon stop doing this with more experience. Lottie could also be fantastic as a first pony and lead rein for any age, she leads very easily from another horse.
Lottie isn’t the type who needs ridden everyday, she is fine being ridden once or twice a week but she likes company and regular attention. The more you do with her the better she gets.
Never rears, bucks or bolts, only stops and looks if she spooks but she’s not a spooky type. She’s good in wide open spaces, traffic, farm machinery, to clip, load, catch, bath, have feet filed.
Lottie has mostly hacked all her life but has a good jump which we are exploring now and is green but eager to learn in the school. Never gets strong or silly, always good and responsive. She is currently bitless and barefoot but I’m sure she would be fine if you wanted to change that.
Currently lives out 24/7 with two geldings however is fine in a mixed herd. Doesn’t mind being stabled at night or when the weathers bad.
Only being sold as my daughter has outgrown her, she will otherwise be wasted. We have had her for almost 7years so will only go to the best home. She is a very special pony with a lot to offer.
Previously Lottie had a sarcoid on her back left hock which has been removed by laser surgery and is now fully healed. Vets say that we don’t need to disclose this but would rather be honest. They said with the laser option that it can not come back. Also has a scar on left hind, front of hock from before we bought her. Never been a problem and wasn’t visible as she was dapple grey when we bought her and it isn’t obvious.
She has a white Irish passport with no recorded breeding.
Comes with full wardrobe. Including WOW saddle and light rider bitless bridle.
Teeth and vacs up to date, just been done at the beginning of the month.
Available for viewing when government guidelines allow. We can do virtual viewing for initial interest.
