15.2/15.3hh 6yo Connemara cross dapple grey Gelding. By Eastlands Nettlebrae Lockinge x Lockinge Frederick, dam by Picolll. He has the most genuine and wonderful temperament.
Romeo has been well educated in all areas. He has three correct paces, works willingly into a soft contact and produces a smart dressage test having already competed at Prelim level with scores over 70%. He doesn’t hot up or get tense, and stays in a quiet rhythm throughout, he has started some lateral work and shows ability to move up the grades.
He is a very talented jumper and has competed SJ at 90cm, schooling up to 1m. He is a careful jumper, showing a super technique, plenty of scope and a natural desire to do his job, he is a forward going brave ride who takes you to a fence but doesn’t get strong.
XC he has been a star, he has competed in Hunter trails and ODEs at 80/90cm, always taking it in his stride - winning his first GoBE80, straight through water, ditches and steps and has just jumped clear at 90cm Hunter trial. He is genuine and straight with skinnies and corners and has never said no. He has also jumped simulated XC in the arena and doesn’t blink at anything, confidently jumping 1/1.10m angles and brushes.
He has also hunted in both Ireland and England. He has also been to stay away training shows without issues, happy standing watching other horses on XC and didn’t get upset when out of sight.
He hacks confidently alone or in company, is sensible in open spaces and traffic, and is equally happy to lead or follow. He has genuine and kind temperament.
Up to date with vaccs, dentist, farrier and worming. Romeo is talented enough to aim at Badminton Grassroots with the right rider, as well as having the scope to go beyond! A type who really wants to please, a proper people person who will follow you round the field.
