Reason for Sale: he’s now 7 I’ve owned him for 3.5yrs and realised he is never going to be forward enough for me. Needs lots of leg but way more forward into a jump and in a field. School sour on the flat. He is quirky but that isn’t why he’s for sale. He’s not quiet or small enough for my young children/beginner but not forward enough for me. He has been my hacking/BS club SJ/fun ride horse to accompany my children. I’ve got other younger horses coming up who can start to do that job.

Pricing: please make me an offer for a quick sale, he is not vice free, he’s blemished and is quirky so lower price expected.

Breed: Full green book Connemara. Nicely bred.

Hoof wall: N/N negative for HWSD

Age / Height: 7 years old / 15.1 hh (might be bigger now)

Colour/blemishes: Dun (with a couple of white marks on his black legs, guessing from an accident as a foal). Has a fat knee from a kick in the field August 2025, all X rayed. Would not do well showing and too impatient to stand mannerly at a hunt. Very attractive, but muddy and fluffy at the moment.

Location: East Sussex

Vice: yes!! windsucks/cribs. Stops with a collar, we don’t use it. Never affected him.

Jumping: please check out my Instagram of full rounds of him jumping and videos of him jumping at home. He has never stopped at a show jump with me ever! Double Clear at his first One Day Event (many time faults from walking between fences). Has a very good BS Club record (feel free to look it up). Reserve Champion (70cm Showjumping) at the Sunshine Tour in 2025. Very often the slowest clear round.

Easily pops 1m20/1m25 for fun at home. See videos on Instagram. Wouldn’t have enough steam to get round a course of that height right now. Qualified for the big BS show at Stonleigh in 2026 in the 80and 70 club classes from two shows.

Whilst he is currently second in the 2026/7 South East BS club league (see screenshot) at both 80cm and 70cm (I don’t want to pay for full BS membership) I don’t think he would make a proper BS horse as he is too slow, I feel like I carry him around on my back round the course. Whilst he is slow he never stops, jumps off any stride and has some sort of footwork magic in getting over some big fences… but incredibly slow. 😂

Travel/Loading: Loads and travels brilliantly, but gets impatient at shows, so we travel him tacked up and get straight on.

Disclosed Quirks: Will have a leap if horses leave him behind. See videos of this on Instagram. It’s not very athletic. Rodeoed with me a bit on the way down to the arena at Hickstead at the sunshine tour (despite jumping clear), busy environments/warm up rings put him very on his toes. Has also rolled with rider on his back three times when bored at clinics waiting his turn to jump. Does not stand still at the mounting block (I hop on from the ground). Will also paw the ground when waiting his turn at Riding Club clinics. He’s super impatient, it’s really annoying. People say “busy brain” I say “idiot”. Have I put you off yet?

Feet/Maintenance: Incredibly cheap to keep; exceptional barefoot feet (best I have ever seen) even on stoniest ground; up to date with vaccinations, teeth and worming checks. Good for the farrier but might bite their bottom if I don’t stand by his head (he’s an idiot).

Personality: Full of character/a bit of an idiot. Will playfully pull items out of my bag and chuck them across the yard (so annoying) and will let you lie down with him in the field for a snooze).

Hacking/Traffic: Hacks alone or in company; great with cars; may plant feet when meeting tractors and need a boot past, but never nasty. Tends to plant his feet if worried rather than anything else.

Ideal Home: Competent, experienced home with a lower budget who has the patience for his quirks and vices and can ride him actively forwards, strictly no novices. It would be lovely to find someone who clicks with him in the way that I do not!!!

Tack: no tack or rugs available, other horses share his bridle and rugs and his saddle will be adjusted for another horse.

See more pics and videos on my Instagram @rachrich18. Looking for a quick sale. Experienced home more important than price.
