Fudge is a much-loved 14.2hh Welsh Cross gelding who has been an outstanding Pony Club pony for us since June 2024. He is the type of pony that is becoming increasingly hard to find – safe, sensible, kind and always wanting to please. His sensible nature and willing attitude make him an excellent first ridden pony off the lead rein, while his ability and experience mean he has plenty to offer as his rider gains confidence and progresses.

During his time with us, Fudge has taken part in Pony Club rallies, Area Qualifiers, dressage, show jumping and eventing. He has happily turned his hoof to everything asked of him, making him a genuine and versatile all-rounder.

Fudge particularly enjoys his jumping and is a genuine, willing pony who always tries his best over a fence. He has competed successfully up to 85cm, schools confidently around 90cm at home, qualified for the Winter Championships at 70cm, and is regularly placed at local unaffiliated competitions. With continued training and the right rider, he has plenty of potential to continue progressing.

On the flat, Fudge works in a soft, consistent contact and is responsive to his rider's aids without being strong or sharp. He is a responsive pony who listens to his rider rather than needing to be constantly pushed along. He is safe, sensible and confidence-giving while still being responsive enough for a rider to enjoy and progress with. His canter is continuing to develop, but despite this he has achieved very respectable dressage scores with an inexperienced rider.

He has also enjoyed eventing and cross-country. He can occasionally appreciate a rider giving him confidence over more technical fences when riding alone, but he has always been willing and honest with us.

One of Fudge's greatest qualities is his temperament. He is exceptionally kind, affectionate and easy to handle, both at home and away. He has never bucked, reared, bolted, kicked or bitten while in our care. He is ridden in a snaffle, has good brakes and is a straightforward, enjoyable pony to ride.

He hacks happily alone or in company and is completely unfazed by traffic, farm machinery, dogs and everyday life. Around the yard he is a pleasure in every way. He is easy to catch, loads and travels perfectly alone or with company, settles quietly at competitions, turns out happily with mares or geldings and has excellent stable manners.

He is up to date with vaccinations, worming, dental care and farriery (shod every eight weeks) and is open to any vetting.

All tack, rugs and equipment are included in the sale.

This is an incredibly difficult and genuine sale due solely to personal health circumstances. Fudge is a much-loved member of the family, and finding him the very best home is our absolute priority. Well bred 14.2 Connemara pony; grand sire I Love you Melody. Thorgal has done a bit of everything over the last 18 months the with us and is a pony that has so much ability but is still at the stage of needing to be brought on more.

Out hunting he is well behaved and bold, taking jumps even if some in the field stop in front of him.

He has some done xc schooling, is still a little green but happily jumps open ditches, trakenhers, doesn’t bat an eyelid at water (I think he finds it fun), will jump into and through water.

We have done bs and NSEA while I feel he does need more time to come on in the ring he has had some results.

He has been to the beach quite a few times and happily goes into the sea and is calm.

Thorgal has never bucked or reared or even threatened to, he is a nice pony.

He has been well schooled and has a pleasant willingness to learn. Lateral work is becoming reasonably established, he is very supple and responsive to aids.

Good to do in everything except he doesn’t like being shod. We have had him barefoot for a year and he has good feet and shows no signs of needing to be shod, so we don’t!

I am not selling him as an established show jumper he needs more producing and schooling. He has so much potential and is nice pony to have on the yard, but my daughter only has next year in juniors and wants to be doing the bigger heights and he isn’t ready for that yet.

Well bred 14.2 Connemara pony; grand sire I Love you Melody. Thorgal has done a bit of everything over the last 18 months the with us and is a pony that has so much ability but is still at the stage of needing to be brought on more.

Out hunting he is well behaved and bold, taking jumps even if some in the field stop in front of him.

He has some done xc schooling, is still a little green but happily jumps open ditches, trakenhers, doesn’t bat an eyelid at water (I think he finds it fun), will jump into and through water.

We have done bs and NSEA while I feel he does need more time to come on in the ring he has had some results.

He has been to the beach quite a few times and happily goes into the sea and is calm.

Thorgal has never bucked or reared or even threatened to, he is a nice pony.

He has been well schooled and has a pleasant willingness to learn. Lateral work is becoming reasonably established, he is very supple and responsive to aids.

Good to do in everything except he doesn’t like being shod. We have had him barefoot for a year and he has good feet and shows no signs of needing to be shod, so we don’t!

I am not selling him as an established show jumper he needs more producing and schooling. He has so much potential and is nice pony to have on the yard, but my daughter only has next year in juniors and wants to be doing the bigger heights and he isn’t ready for that yet.

I would like him to go to a knowledgeable home so he can reach his full potential as he has the biggest scope and ability.
