Dealers & Yards

Proud breeders of genuine, versatile horses with talent, temperament, trainability and true beauty.

We aim to breed beautiful horses of  quality who prove versatile, capable and willing whatever the discipline; when they bring the happiness and pride to their owners that we have built our reputation on and are a pleasure to deal with in all ways..... We have achieved what we set out to do.

From day one our horses are cared for and treated as individuals with careful attention to nutrition, handling, health and happiness. We are not a hobby stud, GFS is a dedicated stud of excellent reputation breeding warmblood sporthorses of physical quality, proven competition bloodlines, exceptional temperament and true versatility for both amateur and professional riders.  As such our full focus is on producing young horses correctly and in a professional environment that is beneficial to their physical and mental wellbeing. We are now based in Devon and our new home has outstanding facilities for both rearing youngstock on lush, well fenced pastures with room to gallop and play in herds as nature intended.  Our breeding program is one that has been carefully developed in line with exactly what we intend to breed and consistent in the type and character that we strive to produce. Our stallions are on site and always delighted to meet and greet visitors. Very often we also have the grand dams and or sires here too as well as similarly bred youngstock from which to judge in accordance with our breeding goals.

We hope you can find everything you were hoping to to discover about the Stud and our horses on these pages -  If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact us at gfssporthorses@gmail.com.

We are always happy to answer initial queries by email but ultimately prefer the more personal telephone call instead of batting questions to and fro over many days!

This huge and incredibly stylish looking colt is golden buckskin with a beautiful smattering of spots on his hindquarters and the prettiest head. He has the longest legs and lovely athletic conformation. He moves beautifully with a big walk and both a trot and canter that are expressive and impressive.

He has some sensational bloodlines and if he follows true to form, he should be a rather exciting eventing prospect, his forbearers have acquitted themselves admirably in all three of the Olympic disciplines.

This gorgeous boy's temperament is absolutely outstanding, he is a calm, friendly character with a thoroughly relaxed attitude. Absolutely nothing phases him and he just wants to be everybody's friend. I actually do not think that we have ever had such a laid back, sociable and charismatic foal!
He is sired by the wonderful AES Graded GFS Fire and Ice whose breeding and extensive, impressive and talented family tree can be explored on our website, with eventing providence that is tremendous on his dams side with the great Rock King and Bohemond, her sire and the maternal Gandsire.
His knabstrupper bloodlines on his sire's family tree bring talent, temperament and the renowned versatility of this extraordinary Danish warmblood breed, this coupled with the inimitable strength, stamina, bravery and performance of the Kinsky warmblood that also courses through his veins.

His dam is by Al Pacino W - An outstanding International Grand Pix show jumper and son of the amazing “phenomenon” Andiamo by Animo- Almé). Her dam sire, Aiglon Rouge a son of two of the most incredible jumpers and producers of simply incredible offspring. Narcos II and the legendary mare, Dirka - who is the dam of Quidam de Revel.
Al Pacino W was bred from the beautiful blood mare SATAJAVERTE (by Julio Marinier xx) This family tree brought forth many approved stallions and international jumping horses. He showed his superb qualities during his performance tests: jumping under saddle as well as free jumping and fulfilled all requirements for the KWPN Approval.
His sire Andiamo Z jumped internationally at 1.50 level despite starting his career later in life due to injury.
GFS Amadeus's G.Dam was by Aiglon Rouge and out of the mare that has probably had more influence than almost any other through her legendary son Quidam de Revel! Dirka, despite being only 163 cms, won at international level with Nelson Pessoa, once returned to her breeder on retirement she was bred to Sans Souci, to produce two international competitors, Orka and Paprika de Revel, then with Jalisco B she produced Quidam de Revel.

Neither the sire nor Grand sire's of this magnificent foal need much introduction! This is a young horse whose breeding is as outstanding as his obvious quality. GFS Conchaccorado represents a rare opportunity for a discerning buyer looking for a genuine 5* prospect for the future. His temperament and movement are absolutely outstanding; he is sensitive but the most genuine, intelligent, calm and obliging natured youngster. His natural ability translates in both his exceptional ability to traverse an arena with natural style, grace and a self carriage far beyond his years. He has the gallop of a born eventer and a walk and trot that are quite superior. It is little wonder with his bloodlines that he has a jump. But, this boy knows that was what he was born to do and needs no encouragement to demonstrate a jump like a stag! It comes as naturally as breathing to him and he just flies!

This boy simply oozes class and superiority in every discernible aspect of possible appreciation. He is not only very beautiful, but he has an impressive presence, expressive movement and is undeniably a natural athlete in every sense of the word. He has a lovely kind temperament and an intelligent, willing attitude. He has been professionally handled from birth and as such he is easy to do in all situations, being both trusting and accepting. He is handled daily, easy to catch, mannerly in the stable, in hand and stands politely to be rugged, groomed. He is well behaved for the farrier and to be wormed.

His sire Conthalou made an ideal start as a sire with a magnificent first crop of foals, producing the top price of the Oldenburg auction in Vechta, Connery, who was sold for 33,000 Euros. For his outstanding offspring, he was named the main premium winner at the Oldenburg Stallion Days.
After his acclaimed victory at the licensing of the Oldenburg Show Jumping Breeding Association (OS), Conthalou completed his 50-day test in Adelheidsdorf with expected highlights for his jumping manner (9.0), scope (9.0), willingness to perform (9.5), rideability (9.0), temperament (9.25) and overall impression (9.0). With a total score of 8.86, he was only narrowly beaten in the strong field of 35 candidates and finished as second Reserve Champion of his stallion performance test.

The dam's sire Conthargos, has produced numerous top horses, including the international competition winner Conchento PS/Luciana Diniz/POR, Easy Girl/Santiago Lambre/BRA, Connecticut/Matthew Sampson/GBR, Cocolina/Natalie Dean/USA, Cosa Nostra/Jeroen Dubbeldam/NED and Conthinder/Andrzej Oplatek/POL, to only name a few. Almost 20 of his sons have been licensed, including our OS Champion Stallion and main premium winner Conthalou PS and the internationally successful Continental Blue.

His dam Belinda is internationally successful in 1.45m show jumping competitions.

His grand-dam Chaccos-Lüd is the half sister of an OS Premium Stallion by Los Angeles and the full sister of the two premium stallions Chacco’s Son I and II (both by Chacco-Blue).
Performance stallions Balou du Rouet and Chacco-Blue appear in the previous generations and secure Conthalou’s pedigree in the best way.
Balou du Rouet, himself successful in advanced level show jumping competitions. He is not only by far the most successful son of his famous sire, the Olympic champion and three-time World Cup winner Baloubet du Rouet, but also appears, once again, amongst the top 15 and top 12 of the world's best show jumping and eventing sires respectively, according to the WBFSH ranking.

Chacco-Blue was third in the Grand Prix in Aachen, won the Grand Prix in Neumünster and has led the WBFSH ranking since 2017. From a breeding perspective, the elite stallion produced Explosion W/Ben Maher/GBR, Olympic Champion, individual silver and team bronze medallist at the European Championships and Global Champions Tour winner. Around 55 of his sons have been licensed.

His dam sire is the outstanding and remarkable Diarado who is number one for the world ranking stallions for eventing and eleven for show jumping!
Diarado is one of the most popular, and highest-ranked, stallions in Germany.
Diarado is not only popular as a sire of show jumpers, but also as a sire of eventers; he always passes on his beautiful and correct type and conformation, which is so important for long-term soundness and durability. He was in sixth place on the 2017 BE Sire Rankings for 4-8 year-old offspring.

His sire, Diamant de Semilly topped the WBFSH Sire Rankings for the second time in 2016, having been inside the top ten since 2012. During his career, he was French national champion and WEG team gold medallist in 2002, and European team silver medallist in 2003. Diamant de Semilly is known for his outstanding power, suppleness and balance.
His dam's combined pedigree includes Corrado I, Contender, Lord and Ramiro; four absolutely top sires in one line. Corrado I.

His offspring are marked by their beautiful, correct conformation, with excellent rideability, strong movement and with a lot of scope; they are much sought-after at numerous auctions. To date, more than 50 sons are licensed, among them numerous premium sires including Diarado's Boy, De Quidam, Don Diarado and Dicontinus.

Her dam sire, Corland is from the famous Holsteiner Line 104A, which goes directly back to Retsina, a two-time winner of the Hamburg Derby.
He also was Champion of the Benelux in The Hague, 7th in the World Cup of Verona and 2nd in ‘The Sires of the World’ in Lanaken.

Her dam was out of a Caretino Glory mare whose back pedigree is packed with the key names in jumping breeding – Cor De La Bryere, Ramiro, Gotthard. Further investigation of his pedigree goes some way to explaining why he passes on both quality and better than average movement.

His sire Cheenook was trained to Grand Prix level dressage, and was known for his flamboyant movement despite his Holstein jumping pedigree. In Germany alone he has 56 offspring competing at S level show jumping and 16 at S level dressage.

Please look at our website www.gfssporthorses.co.uk for information on this foal and others currently available due to Stud closure. Dam lines to include Ahorn, Quirifino Z, Olympic Lux, Al Pacino, Ultimo, Monte Bellini, Ramiro B, Camaro, Arko III and Diarado.
