Wanted Event Horse

Ref #: 372138

I am a 28 year old ambitious event rider seeking a novice or above event horse for this season and or beyond. I have ridden all my life and have worked for many top event riders and show jumpers. I have ridden at Intermediate level/3* in the past and have produced my own horses, last year I produced my homebred to compete successfully at novice level aged 6.

Due to injury of my own homebred novice event horse I am desperate to get out eventing this season. I am not looking for a world beater but I am missing being out eventing having fun. I am used to quirky types and would prefer a forward thinking keen horse rather than one on the lazier side.

I am based at my family home where I have a small yard of liveries, homebreds and schooling liveries in the South West so am very lucky to have many different facilities near by. Happy to discuss all options, or take on a horse that needs veterinary help. I have a great team of farrier, vets, physios etc that can all provide references.

If you have a horse you don’t wish to sell but still want to see out competing please contact me to discuss all options.

DO YOU HAVE A HORSE OR PONY SUITABLE FOR THE RDA?

WANTED ON LONG TERM LOAN / PURCHASE

Ref #: 249896
  • If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below
  • If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below

One of the main issues that RDA groups face is finding an Equine to suit the needs of the participants in their group.

We are regularly contacted with offers of Equines that are ‘the ideal RDA horse or pony’ when actually what is ideal for one group may not be for the next. We are trying to move away from the stereotypical view that RDA Equines are elderly and somewhat static, our horses and ponies need to be fit, healthy and athletic to cope with the lifestyle in an RDA group.

They can range from smaller, forward going ponies to weight carrying cobs and can take part in a range of disciplines from Riding to Carriage Driving, Vaulting to Show Jumping and Endurance.

If you contact an RDA Group about your Equine please be prepared to fill in an Equine Initial Interest Form which will ask you many questions about your horses’ temperament, health history, experience and lifestyle. Many groups will prefer to have an equine on trial to make sure they are suitable for the job.

For long term loans and purchases they will also be required to have a Pre-Purchase Examination.

If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below.

  • Bold springy in gait when in confident action, glides in canter and powers on in a balanced trot
  • Easy to handle, box, clip, with farrier and dentist and is used to children and dogs; intelligent
I am looking for a dedicated home to take forward this special and talented horse who applies himself with will endeavour. Winner of Man v. Horse, June 2022 (see INVICTUS https://standardbred.org) from whence he has been with me for 3 years with full assurance of a safe and sound horse with potential to learn in other fields.

He has had a consistent programme of weekly schooling and weekend hacks where he has developed flexion, outline and a degree of balance in canter. He has achieved now canter on both reins in full and 20m circles but ongoing training is essential to mastering it fully and correcting the 'default pace gait' but he really impressively tries and is making good progress.

He maintains a wonderful working trot and tempo throughout with which to work through the aids and dressage aims. He loves jumping and has balletic moves in correcting his approach, also with raised and lain poles which engage his skills. He is an intelligent and willing horse to train and is in very fit form.

Hacking out over mixed terrain, rural lanes, hill trots, climbs, tracks, moors and through a town has given him wide experience and confidence; ideally he likes an off road adventure and does easily 6-8 miles each ride. I would l love a mature rider like myself to enjoy him and his versatility and to live in an area with good rides to explore and some cross-country jumping as a first! He has shared a field with a mare, but presently is at a part livery, strip grazed and stabled along with thoroughbred geldings.

He has no vices, except on occasion affectionate nibbling which is horse specific, and has been prevented by fencing. I have invested a lot in his potential and I would ideally like a loan home for a period as I have some family commitments ahead and need some time free.

He comes with good GP and Dressage saddles, numnahs, lunging kit, 2 bridles, rugs ....

LOAN / TRIAL PERIOD CONSIDERED.

  • A kind, happy, loving mare
  • Easiest pony to have around
Companion/Family Friend long term Loan home required for 15hh 19 years young Welsh X Mare.

We have owned this mare since a 4 year old. She has had a successful ridden career without injury.

Due to owners pregnancy, a suitable long term home is required to care for and enjoy this much loved member of our family. She is only out of work due to this factor and will remain this way for the foreseeable future. She would still benefit from the walker/lunge/led out in hand though.

A kind, happy, loving mare who adores attention and fuss. She is kept like a queen here and deserves it. Never a bother or a bad day. She has been the easiest pony to have around over all these years.

Has lived with mares and geldings. Not mareish and not one to kick, bite, chase others. Happy with a youngster or older friend. She would need to have company in her new home.

Lives in at night during the winter months, weather permitting during the summer she is happy to live outside full time with some shelter from the heat. She has been used to coming into stables for a sleep each day in the afternoons and then back out through the night.

Vaccinated, teeth, farrier etc always kept up to date. Microchipped etc.

Not fussed when other horses go out to exercise, but we have always brought ours into stables when their field partner has been required elsewhere.

She is currently out solo at home and not fazed by this, but this is only due to short term circumstances.

She has also been in livery on and off since September at a professional yard and has always just gone with the flow without fuss or anxiety and happily stepped into the yard favourite role within minutes!

My main priority is that this little mare is loved and enjoyed by a new person/family. She brings a smile to my face everyday and has been an unwavering best friend to me and her numerous four legged friends over the years since she first arrived with us.

Enquiries welcome, homes will be vetted. She is a straightforward lady to have around but an experienced home is sort to ensure continuity of care.

Any questions please do get in touch.

More photos and videos available to suitable enquiries.

No calls after 8pm.

Currently based in Lincoln.

A genuine, considered and heartfelt rehoming of my stunning, kind-natured gelding Mole.

Mole is a truly special soul who will give you his whole heart in return for kindness and patience. He would thrive in a dressage-focused home with a calm, confident rider.

- ROR Eligible: retired after just six months in training
- Professionally produced: by a classical dressage rider since retirement (after 18 months turned away)
- Exceptional temperament: kind, gentle, and eager to please
- By Fame & Glory (Montjeu), a beautifully bred, old-fashioned Thoroughbred with plenty of bone

Training & Experience

- Dressage prospect & competed online, consistently scoring 70-75%+
- Needs an experienced, confident and calm rider to continue his journey and give him reassurance
- Soft, responsive ride
- Bombproof to hack in company: unfazed by large vehicles, dogs, farm animals, bikes, and other horses (never tried alone)
- Regularly attends pole clinics; however would not SJ

Personality & Care

- Must live out as much as possible
- A true gentleman & easy to handle, shoe, clip, catch, and for vet/dentist visits
- Loads first time, every time
- Incredibly kind nature & has never pinned his ears at a person or another horse
- Does get stressed when left alone - but would suit a home environment with others

He is still requiring further training, takes confidence/reassurance from his rider. He needs someone who can continue his education, give him all the love and fuss he deserves.

Mole has small sarcoids and typical Thoroughbred feet.

This is an honest and difficult rehoming, due to a demanding career and life stage. Finding the right home is my priority.

Location: Surrey / West Sussex Border
Plenty of videos, photos, and dressage sheets available

All tack and rugs available by seperate negotiation.

Serious enquiries only. Must be a competent rider, no novices.

Viewed with rider and trainer.

Advert I do not want to write - Harry is 17.2 rising 7years, iron grey gelding with absolutely top class international show jumpers in his breeding - Baloubet/Cavaliar Royale. Professionally produced from day 1, Not rushed due to size & frame.

BSJA name Erin’s Fancy

Harry has all double clears for 2025 BN & Discovery, he is a forward fun, auto changes ride that really wants to win. Will definitely progress to big track horse with correct rider.

I have owned Harry since he was 4 months old, I idolise him but we are totally wrong home and he’s just not ridden, he actually thrives on work and wants to be doing a job!

Please only contact if you are genuine & can ride, he’s a big strong competition horse that has everything you would want to see at this stage to make it. He’s good to handle, clips with no sedation, shoe, box and great to hack (I’m a wimp nowadays & I hack him everywhere)

Harry does have a mild shiver which is common in his size & several top horses have but if this offends you, he’s not for you.

I’m genuinely bothered that he gets the correct home, over any of the financial side & will consider all options! If best home not found he will stay where he is.

Lives in/out, not happy to be left alone in field. Easy to catch.
Good for farrier/vet/loading and travelling. Up to date with jabs/teeth/worming, no health issues and happy to provide full medical history.
Quirky personality so would suit someone with some experience handling horses not a complete beginner.

Can be offered on loan or open to offers. Can come with rugs if needed.

Homes will be vetted.

Please call/message if interested, happy to answer any questions.
