14.3 / 15hh 20 year old welsh sec D x spotted.

Owned and competed extremely successfully for the past 14 years,

BUT NOW HAPPY HACKER ONLY !!

Looking for a KIND HACKING home , loan or sale

not for school work,

she has always been 100% sound.

She is a fantastic hack alone or in company, depending how much work she is doing, she was very forward going, and if left for fortnight plus she was strong but nothing un manageable for a competent rider.

She has never in 14 years reared , bucked, or whipped round.

Good in all ways very well mannered on the ground. does not bite or kick, no vices.

Can on occasion be awkward to catch but a bucket of nuts works.
she prefers to have her stable at night.

can be wary with farm machinery, but she has never been un safe.

Will happily hack for miles across fields, through forestry, over/under railway bridges, does gates , goes through water. happily boxes up to explore unknown byways, alone or in company.

An agreement would be put in place, she prefers to be in at night ( and is used to it) all year round, prefer not to be turned out with geldings. unless small ponies.

She has confirmed cataracts in both eyes , but she has learnt how to deal with it. these require yearly checks. in line with her vacc's,
to ride and deal with you would not know she had an eye problem.
she is for hacking only, no jumping, if on fun rides no jumping or reckless galloping. she does not like hard ground.

Email / text your experience, weight and where /how you would keep her,

she loves a fuss

would consider a share to stay where she is,

If you text/message requiring more 'info', please be specific about the information you require.

Storme is a truly lovely ISH x ID mare, now seeking a non-ridden companion home after retiring from her ridden career. She has a wonderfully affectionate nature and quickly becomes a favourite wherever she goes. Storme enjoys human company, loves a good fuss, and stands beautifully for grooming—she’s the kind of mare who really appreciates attention and gives it back in her own quiet, sweet way.

She currently lives out 24/7 in a mare herd, where she settles well and keeps harmony within the group. She’s equally content part-stabled, making her easy to accommodate on different yards. Storme is good to catch, lead, groom and to have her feet picked out with a confident handler. Once she trusts her new surroundings, she will happily share a hay pile with her field mates.

Storme would make a wonderful addition to a home looking for a calm, kind and genuinely lovable equine companion.

Confident Hacking Horse for Full Permanent Loan / LWVTB

Blue – Kind, Confident Hacking Horse for Full Permanent Loan / LWVTB Considered – 16hh, 16yo, gelding

– Has been much loved in current loan home since July 2024, but personal circumstances in this home have changed through no fault of his nor loaners, and therefore he’s sadly looking for a new match. He was with me prior to this, and owned by me since 2015.
– Blue is a kind, honest, and sweet boy looking for a loving hacking home. He offers affection, fun, adventures, and has a great temperament, especially with children. I am seeking a very specific, permanent home where he will be loved as their own and who are committed to wanting to offer a home for life.
– Experience Required: He needs an experienced, confident, and kind rider who is not easily put off when he gets occasionally worried/stressed. He relies on his person for confidence. Not suitable for novices.

Blue’s Ideal Job & Temperament

• Job: Light to medium hacking only, no schooling. He will happily go out on light walking rides, but will also be eager and happy to do more if wanted (walk, trot, canter, jumping the odd log), but isn’t to be hammered about
• Temperament (manners): Very affectionate people-horse, loves attention, loves children, is friendly and kind. Excellent ground manners. Though can suffer from separation anxiety and will be challenging when wound up by this, which requires managing him to avoid, and experience to be able to deal with and think about
• Temperament (hacking): Excellent in traffic (we lived in a London borough for a number of years), generally sane, sensible, and great with large vehicles. We’ve done lots of hacking in the past, include EGB rides, the beach, and more, so he’s seen a lot. Can go out alone or in company, in front/middle/behind; does greatly prefer company. Needs experienced rider particularly when alone in cases where he may get anxious about new things, or above mentioned separation anxiety, though greatly improves with frequency. Takes confidence from his rider, is not bombproof plod and would be too much for a beginner, but is not difficult to manage for someone who has lots of experience.
• Fitness: Is easily turned away and brought back into work, I would normally give him a few months off over winter and just get back on in spring and he’s not silly, will just be more looky after not being out for a while. Has currently been out of work for a year, will need time to settle in a new home and get to know someone, but shouldn’t be difficult to start doing things again gradually and will support with this if distance is doable

Requirements for Blue’s Forever Home

• Living Out: Must live out 24/7, would consider homes with some stabling through winter but this mustn’t be more than overnight. He is easily unhappy and stiff when stabled, and stressed by various other turnout/bring in routines with the other horses on the yard.
• Forage/Feeding: Must have constant access to forage (plenty of grazing, hay/haylage through winter). He is not the typical poor-doer thoroughbred, but he is still a thoroughbred and not a native pony, and he will suffer and lose condition if grazing/forage is limited.
• Companionship: Best suited to a gelding herd/buddy. He must never be left alone in the field or stable. Can be more on the dominant side, but is well socialised and settles well and quietly in a stable herd with the right herd combination and time.
• Land: Preferably own land because this ensures stability and the management he needs, but individual situations considered (flexible for the right match).
• Location: Preference within 2 hours of Northampton but very flexible for the right match

Additional Information

• Feet: Completely barefoot. Wears boots for hacking. Needs monitoring for thrush and mud fever and treating/bringing into dry ground if fields get boggy (as with any horse)
• Inclusions: Full wardrobe (tack/rugs etc) is included on loan.
• Permanent: You don’t need to worry about investing yourself in getting to know him, loving him etc. He needs a truly permanent home that loves and is committed to him. Basis of loan is for my peace of mind to always make sure he is happy and cared for and won’t be passed around, not because I would be asking for him back.

Companion Gelding For Loan

  • 11 years

  • Friendly, kind and easy to do
  • Used to being out with mares and geldings

My 15hh 11 year old gelding looking for his next important role as a companion.

He’s recently been doing this for a friend and did a great job and enjoyed it so I’d like to find him a similar role again.

Ideally this would be on a private yard for a small group - or paired up if the other horse is also retired and doesn’t go out and leave him alone.

He lives out on grass 24/7 365 days a year and as long as he’s got some extra forage available and a vitamin/mineral supplement he doesn’t have any feeding needs.

He does need to stay moving, so if needed to be off the field he needs to be brought onto some sort of extended turnout space as his only issue is locking stifles if stabled for prolonged periods (the odd emergency overnight has been fine!)

Used to being with mares and geldings, he is a fair leader who is polite but firm with other horses - he won’t be bullied but is an absolute gentleman. He’s been out with everything from bolshy youngstock to veterans.

I have owned him since he was 3 and can provide full history and comprehensive details.
Absolutely no riding, not even a sit on for a pony ride!

I will cover annual vaccinations, and keep him provided with rugs. All I ask that he is kept trimmed on a 8-10 weekly basis and follows a worm counting programme.

Loan contract and references required.

Please don’t be put off by the Thoroughbred label, he is a really hardy good do-er who has had nothing more than a 200g rug and a bale of hay in front of him through whatever winter throws at him!

Looking for a lease initially 1 year but could be longer if required

Turns 7 in June, 16hh bay gelding

Loves to jump, he has completed 2 years on the trot pc camp where he was a true gentleman, been competing at 80cm in hunter trials and ODE over last year. Came 5th at the young horse eventing champs in Sept.

Attends regular lessons with me, attended funrides proving very sensible and even my 10 year old will school and jump him in the arena.
He has hunted but is very strong for the first 90 mins then settles once the excitement has subsided.

Really smart horse who loves to work and go out and see the world. Only being put up for lease as he is my horse and unfortunately kids horses/ ponies and events have taken over my life and he deserves to be out doing what he loves for a couple of years.

Looking for a lease home to continue his education and compete him either PC, riding club type events.

Can be a bit spooky if hacking alone nothing dangerous just checking you are awake on board.

Good in traffic can be wary of huge tractors/ lorries if they try and squeeze pass, he is fine
if you are pulled in safely and let them pass at a safe distance.

Great to box, clip, shoe, wash, up to date on everything and I would want this to continue as part of the contract.

He needs a confident but fair rider to get the best out of him, no novices or nervous Nellie as he would walk all over you.

Must have turn out and a stable and be looked after like and loved as he currently is. Want him to stay in the south west and will require regular updates and pictures as he is my pride and joy, would be fantastic if you can get a DC or instructor ref, please no photo collectors or video requesters

If you are interested please give me call to discuss or message with details of what you can offer him.
Many thanks

Has been well handled and long lines, lunges and wears full tack, comes to call and genuinely a nice person to work with. Ready to back. Owned since weaning, genuine reason for putting him on long term loan - expecting a baby.

Does have two small sarcoids, neither are where tack sits, being topically treated, otherwise sound and healthy.

Will only go to the most knowledgeable and kind homes with experience of backing and bringing on young horses. Looking to loan for a minimum period of at least five years but preferably longer. Would consider loan with view to buy if both horse and loaner content. Ideally I would like him to stay within two hours of Downham Market, Norfolk, so that I can see him progress, but will consider further afield also.

Contract will be in place to protect both parties. If interested please contact me via text or WhatsApp message initially.
