Blue Cross Nala

Ref #: 405148

  • Lives with mares and geldings
£400
  • Thoroughbred

  • 5 years

  • Unbacked project horse
  • Lives out 24/7 or can part stable
  • Lives with mares and geldings

- Based at our Burford centre -

We are looking for a knowledgeable and experienced home for Nala, ideally with someone confident and experience in handling and producing Thoroughbreds. She is a big, sensitive youngster who will benefit from a calm, patient handler willing to continue building her education from the basics, everything from handling and picking up feet through to developing her groundwork before being backed.

Nala is very much at the early stages of her journey, so we are hoping to find someone who enjoys the process of bringing on a young horse and is happy to take things steadily while she continues to grow in confidence and understanding. With the right person, time and consistency, she has the potential to develop beautifully.

She would be best suited to someone and able to give her the time and routine she currently thrives on, particularly from a rehabilitation and retraining perspective. An ideal home would offer a balanced routine of part stabling and turnout with other horses, where she can continue to settle and progress.

Roi de B’Neville (known as Neville around the yard) is a one in a million horse, reluctantly offered for loan (or possibly loan with view to buy) due to owner illness. He has been in the family for almost 10 years and has been an absolute pleasure to own.

Prior to current ownership he competed up to BE intermediate, and would still happily event at a lower level (given his age), or could easily turn his hand to unaffiliated dressage, showjumping, or a quieter life. He is a very young 21 year old with lots of energy. Would suit a mother/daughter share as he adapts to his rider - he’s the horse on the yard that people always want to borrow!

Hacks alone or in company. No vices, though requires a relatively experienced rider as he can be strong at times.

Currently based in South Warwickshire. Preference for him to remain at current yard.

Comes with tack and rugs. Home is very important so references will be required.

Wanted competition horse for capable teen

Ref #: 404836
We are looking for a 15.2hh to 16.3hh that is genuine to a fence. Must be capable of jumping 1 metre plus sj now or in time. Our daughter mainly show jumps BS but if horse also enjoys a bit of xc and arena eventing here and there that’s an added bonus. She has jumped up to junior newcomers and is a calm, capable rider. She is now looking to move on to seniors. She has regular training with great coaches and comes from an experienced horsey family.

Age of horse irrelevant as long as has an honest outlook and a bit of scope. We can offer a long term, loving, experienced home. We keep our horses at home and they want for nothing. We have stables with lots of turnout and we can cater for most needs. We ideally want something that is at least happy to hack out in company as we have lovely quiet hacking. Horse must travel well. Good budget but would also consider lease or loan. We are in the south west but will travel within reason. Slight quirks/ailments considered but must be disclosed. Happy to wait for however long if you aren’t quite ready to move your lovely horse on yet.

  • Excellent grass eater
£180
  • Warmblood
  • Bay
  • Mare
  • 18 years
  • 15.3 hands
  • Non-ridden companion horse
  • Lives with mares & geldings
  • Excellent grass eater

- Based at a foster yard in Leicestershire -

Montana is a lovely, kind-natured warmblood mare looking for her new home as a companion. She recently came into our care due to a change in her owner’s circumstances.

Montana lives happily with both mares and geldings, is currently out 24/7, and has previously been part stabled with no issues. She’s a good grass eater who doesn’t require grazing restriction, so she’d suit living with other horses of a similar type. Once settled, she’s good to catch, lead, groom, and pick out feet, and she has also been well-mannered for the vet. Montana would make a calm, reliable addition to a herd looking for a companion.

Wanted genuine, safe horse for 10*, knowledgeable, forever home

  • 10* forever home on a beautiful private gated estate in Central Scotland
  • Mare or gelding aged between 5 and 12 years, 15.2hh plus

I am looking for a genuine horse to offer a 10* forever home on a beautiful private gated estate in Central Scotland, with excellent stabling, grazing, and endless hacking. This horse will join my much-loved horse of 20 years, along with my hunter who has sadly been prematurely medically retired, so a knowledgeable, caring, and experienced home is guaranteed.

References can happily be provided.

I am ideally looking for a mare or gelding aged between 5 and 12 years, 15.2hh plus, and no greys, cobs, or arabs please. I have extensive hacking, so must be good in traffic, non-spooky and no nappers, buckers, rearers please. I like really forward going horses, so something that is forward thinking and well-schooled would be ideal

Temperament is very important, so the horse must be kind and easy to handle on the ground and good to clip, shoe, catch, and load. I am looking for a horse with a nice attitude and willing nature, that is straightforward to work with and enjoys its job. I do not jump, so it does not matter whether the horse jumps or not.

I have previously competed in RIHS and HOYS qualifiers and so would like something smart and mannerly that will go in a nice outline. I do not mind a horse that has been retired from the show ring and looking for a quieter life or a change of direction. Happy for superficial blemishes but no health conditions/previous injuries please.

Any potential horse will need to pass a vetting and must have no stable vices - no cribbers/windsuckers please!

Based in central Scotland so sensible distances please but willing to travel for the right horse.

Please email in the first instance with full details and photos would be a plus.

As I do not sell on, no silly prices please.

Do you have a 2 horned unicorn?

Ref #: 270569
  • Small tour dressage rider looking for loan all-round schoolmaster SJ (max 1m), hack and school
  • 15.3 - 16.2hh, gelding or mare 8yrs +
  • Beautiful home yard where they are treated as part of the family
  • Temperament and trainable brain as important as anything else
  • Open minded on age relative to experience
  • Must be sane and safe to handle and hack
  • Small tour dressage rider looking for loan all-round schoolmaster SJ (max 1m), hack and school
  • 15.3 - 16.2hh, gelding or mare 8yrs +
  • Beautiful home yard where they are treated as part of the family
  • Temperament and trainable brain as important as anything else
  • Open minded on age relative to experience
  • Must be sane and safe to handle and hack
We are well aware we are looking for the impossible but have always been successful so no harm in looking!

Through a series of the usual horse misfortunes, including catastrophic injury, sudden loss and lameness, I find myself without much joy in riding.

All being well the 'sportier' models amongst our horsey family will return to gainful employment after the Summer. But I would love to try and have some fun, without the pressure of high level competition in the meantime.
Picture the scene a beautiful summer morning (or evening) hack around the Surrey Hills. Or an evening SJ clinic over the dizzy heights of 90cm. or a fun ride trotting in and out of the water jump with the kids - all without the threat of dying in the process! I am not trying to replace my small tour dressage horses (time will do that) I simply want to remember what it means to have some fun.

So either an eventing schoolmaster or perhaps a horse who has seen and done it at a high level and would love a step down and a varied life and to be loved!

15hh - 16.2hh, gelding or mare. 8yrs +. Must be sound (enough for the job) and sane (this is non negotiable) I only have enough life insurance for my dressage lot.

Why might you consider this you may be asking? if you have a lovely horse that you can't sell for some reason, want back in 6, 12, 24 months for some reason or love him/her too much to turn them over to the young rider market to be risked, this may suit.

We have them at home, a track record of previous loans, masses of all year sand turnout, every day means every day, fabulous stables, brilliant International arena, hacking etc. Our vets, trainers (well known), farriers, physios and grooms will all tell you if they were a horse they would live with us. It wouldn't suit anyone wanting a horse campaigned, on a big yard. They would live with our big dressage boys, rehab Spanish, Shetland and retired (and a few sheep!).

Open minded on breed, size, age, medical etc. There are just a couple of criteria that are critical.

In Winter I ride under lights at night, often on my own in all weathers - they must be safe in this without blinkers!
Hacking Safely for us includes traffic, farm vehicles, open space, roads in company and alone, without the need for draw reins for safety!
Please no 17.2hh or rising 4 years olds.
No rehabilitations ( I have enough of my own!) and a PHD in this, I don't need any more case studies.
Nothing that has to be led around in a nose ring! We really care about having horses who are 'nice characters'
Please email in first instance with any ideas. We are based close to Guildford.
  • Loan or possible Lease - NOT BUYING AT MOMENT
  • To join family yard of Dressage horses who live like Kings and Queens
  • May suit much loved horse to step down, pregnancy break or just a plain no nonsense loan home

  • Experienced rider
  • Ability to have horse at work
  • Quiet and compassionate

Looking for a loan over the summer months, or to potentially have a young horse to gain some experience.

I am currently in between horses as hopefully setting up my own yard, but it’s taking a bit longer than expected. I have the ability to have a horse on loan/training with me up until October time this year, to do a bit of schooling and some eventing/show jumping competitions if appropriate. Would suit someone who’s going travelling for summer/having a baby/ out of action due to injury, or just wanting someone to give their horse a bit of experience.

I have many years of experience, having produced a handful of my own young horses. I have experience with off the track thoroughbreds, as well as Irish types. I have competed up to 90cm eventing, 1m show jumping. I will have the support from my coach, who I would continue having on and off property lessons with, as well as clinics etc.

Ideally the right horse will be a nice person, easy to deal with on the ground and to take out and about (as I do mostly everything on my own), be good to hack out alone and in company, good to shoe/bathe/clip.

Happy to deal with the odd buck etc, but nothing nasty. Also happy to deal with some medical history, as long as disclosed. Horse will have 24/7 turn out on my working farm, with a few horses fielded around them.

Please WhatsApp me any further questions you might have, if you think I might be a good fit! (I am 5’7 and weigh 60kg for size reference).

Would also consider a part loan in Bognor/Chichester/Arundel area

She is an affectionate mare who enjoys grooming, attention, and spending time with her people, forming lovely bonds with those she trusts. Dream has a kind and gentle personality, and while she can occasionally feel a little unsure in unfamiliar situations, she responds beautifully to calm, patient handling and quickly settles to show her steady and loving nature.

Dream lives out happily in a mixed herd and would thrive in a home where she can continue to enjoy plenty of turnout and companionship. She much prefers a relaxed environment with the freedom to come and go, so access to shelter or an open barn would suit her far better than traditional stabling.

  • WON first two events of 2026 – both finished on his dressage score of 29.4 and 22.2!
  • Consistent BE80 & BE90 record, with multiple double clears and placings
  • Kind, genuine temperament with a lovely personality
Goose is a smart, genuine and competitive 16.3hh, 11yo ISH gelding by Bahrain Cruise x Maltstriker.

I have owned him since he was a 3yo and we’ve done everything together. With a strong focus on eventing, he has competed and won at 90 level, with numerous double clears and top 10 placings at BE90. He has also won at Prelim dressage, has multiple placings and double clears at unaffiliated showjumping, and has been successful at hunter trials.

2026 competition results so far:
- Won first 80 ODE of the season (26.04.26) best dressage in the section on 29.4, double clear and inside the time to finish on his dressage score!
- WON second event of the season, 22.2 dressage and double clear inside the time to win and qualify for Riding Club championships.
- 3rd place and double clear in arena eventing
- Just outside the top 10 in a competitive 90cm hunter trial

He has three smart, balanced paces and a neat, scopey jump, comfortably trained over 1m-1.10m+. He is brave and genuine cross country - ditches, steps, water, combinations etc. He is a very rhythmical ride who jumps out of a consistent, balanced canter.

Goose hacks alone and in company and is good to shoe, clip, load and handle. He is easy to have on the yard, lives in or out and turns out happily with others. He has a very kind, affectionate personality and really is a lovely horse to be around.

He has been broken and produced by myself (I’m 5ft2), so is very used to smaller, more petite riders and is light and responsive to ride.

He would make a fantastic and competitive BE grassroots contender, and would equally suit a keen riding club or amateur home looking for a smart, fun and competitive all-rounder. He would suit a confident rider looking to be competitive at BE80/90/100 and beyond with the right partnership.

He has been ridden and lightly competed by amateurs, including my groom and mum, who he looked after well. He is a genuine and straightforward ride, but as a quality, intelligent horse he does appreciate a confident rider to get the best out of him.

Only the very best home for this much loved horse, he is incredibly special to us and deserves nothing less.

He is fit and ready to continue the 2026 season and progress on further.
