£8,000 OIRO

  • 13 years
  • 16.2hh / 168cm
  • He's a genuine all-rounder

Rocky is a 16.2hh, 13-year-old ISH x TB gelding.

He's a genuine all-rounder: good to hack alone or in company, has three lovely paces on the flat, is well established in lateral work, and works at medium level.

He also loves his cross country and is very bold. I previously did a lot of showjumping and arena eventing with my school team at NSEA, qualifying for Hickstead on multiple occasions, but no longer compete as my focus shifted after leaving school to just enjoying riding him. Easy to clip/load/shoe.

Sadly for sale as I'm now at university away from home and have been struggling to balance this with riding. He deserves someone who can put more time into him and really enjoy him — a genuine, reluctant sale.

5* experienced home please. Priced to sell. Some wardrobe available.

Based in East Berkshire.

Ernie 🤎 A kind-hearted, experienced schoolmaster for group lessons, hacking, and hunting 🤎

Ernie is a 15.3h 11yo bay Irish cob gelding with a hardworking, sensible personality

He loves to work and would enjoy staying in consistent riding. He is slightly ‘more woah than go’ without needing a stick or spurs, and will keep himself going. He is not lazy or a kick-ride.

Ernie is excellent at jumping small cross country jumps and 70-80cm courses. He is careful, very honest and steady, and unphased by amateur riding.

Ernie has years of experience with a variety of riders. He has been ridden western, in dressage tack, bareback, and knows how to pull a carriage

Ernie likes hacking in groups and happily leads or follows. He is quiet going new places by himself, around traffic and cows.

He is happiest on a loose rein, and will remain in a steady trot or canter rhythm without getting fast or heavy. He is never spooky, bold or fresh and genuinely aims to please his rider.

We think due to his consistent work ethic and outgoing, friendly personality, Ernie would best suit a family with many riders, a riding school looking for a steady canter/cross rail teaching horse, or a riding club adult looking for a trusty partner.

Ernie has no prior injuries, lumps, bumps, or scars. He is very well mannered for novice or older people to handle, polite to shoe, load, clip, tie, plait, catch, etc.

He has hunted in the past and been cross country schooling

Ernie is open to any vetting

15'2 Irish Cob, Chestnut Gelding. He has a varied CV making him a good allrounder, ideal Riding Club Horse or Mother / Daughter share.

Owned for last 3 years. He Show jumps confidently around a 70/80cm course and is forgiving of a poor stride, could jump bigger - it's me that's comfortable at this height.

Well schooled and competes Unaff Dressage with wins at Cricklands Stay Away Shows and 2nd at Hartpury International Arena & wins at other local Shows, he takes it all in his stride. He has an active trot, super canter with established walk to canter, turn on the forehand, leg yields, shoulder in and quarters in on both reins.

He has also Shown successfully including Working Hunter. He has Hunted extensively with previous owner, with her friends also borrowing him to Hunt. He enjoys being at the front and isn't a plod at the back. He can be steady in a small slow group hacking and will be more forward and quicker in a busier, faster group, XC and Hunting. He can get excited Hunting and XC so wouldn't be suitable for a novice.

Good to load on trailer or lorry, you can leave him on the trailer whilst you walk the course or buy a coffee and sandwich. He is great at both day Shows and Stay Away Shows, happy in a Show Stable.

We are in a rural village and he is good with large Farm Machinery although he can spook at a bird. Hacks in company, alone he is a bit more 'looky' but he will hack on his own. He will ride and lead. Very good to clip including his head, good to wash, shoe and Dentist.

He is good on the ground & lead in and out of the field. He's used to children, dogs, cats, chickens, low flying aircraft & building work. He can be turned out with mares and geldings. He's in a snaffle for Schooling, Hacking including cantering up Bridleways and Show jumping.

Owned for last 3 years but I want to concentrate on Dressage and have bought a Dressage Horse. A great fun horse, Age 16 with plenty of life in him, and ideal allrounder. The right home is very important as he has been a star with us. Lots more photos and videos

Brownie – A Saint of a Mare with a Heart of Gold

Ref #: 416961
  • Perfect for Riding Club, Pony Club or a Fun All-Round Home

  • 16.1hh / 166cm
  • Perfect for Riding Club, Pony Club or a Fun All-Round Home
  • Easy to Ride with Three Comfortable Paces
  • Hacks Alone & In Company • Excellent in Traffic

Brownie is adorable and has lovely manners both ridden and on the ground. She can easily be handled by your non-horsey other half. She happily comes to you in the field and stands perfectly to be shod, clipped, bathed and plaited.

she is a 16.1hh 7yr Irish mare by Castlecomer Q out of a Porsh dam. Half sister has competed to 1.45cm and also related to Fernhill Quite Frankly that is competing at 4*. She’s a beautiful stamp of a horse with a loveable temperament.

Brownie would suit most riders including teenagers coming off ponies. She is easy to ride and forgiving. She has been very slowly produced from a 4 yr with an eye always on her future. She has been in the same home since a 3-year-old in Ireland and is only for sale due to the owner leaving for university. She has been in England since late October and passed a full 5-stage vetting prior to import.

She has undertaken all activities, including dressage, showing, jumping, arena eventing, hacking and pleasure rides and always turns heads and receives lovely comments wherever she goes.

She is scopey, brave, and very talented. She has a fantastic work ethic and wants to please in everything she does.

She is working very nicely on the flat, bends correctly with nice balanced paces. She is nicely forward and off the leg. She can already produce a very smart test with lovely paces.

She loves her showjumping and could easily pure show jump to a high level as well as event. She has masses of scope and talent to go on. She takes you nicely to a fence and is scopey and careful when she gets there.

Brownie is brilliant in open spaces and loves having a canter along with other horses. She will happily follow behind so is an ideal horse for fun rides and would make a fantastic hunter.

She will hack on her own or in company. She will happily go first, last or in the middle of a group. She isn’t clingy or kicky and is good with opening gates, dogs and all other types of farm animals.

Brownie loads straight on the wagon or trailer and I often take her out and about on my own. She also happily stands on the wagon on her own at shows, so you can go off and leave her whilst you have a look round. She is very easy and low maintenance to deal with.

She is currently living out, but happily lives in too, with no vices. She isn’t ridden every day and having days off has no effect on her behaviour.

She’s a loveable, friendly and genuine horse and is ready for someone who wants a no hassle easy horse to go out and enjoy.

Based in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire

Searching For A Genuine Family Friend/Allrounder - To Enjoy Pleasure Rides, Clinics & Low Level Adventures

Ref #: 410902

  • Loving, Knowledgeable Family Home For The Right Horse - Happy To Keep In Touch
  • Approx 15hh (Minimum Full Up 14.2hh, Up To 15.1hh) Age: 6 -13 yrs.
  • Lightweight Cob / Native Or Similar Type
  • Loving, Knowledgeable Family Home For The Right Horse - Happy To Keep In Touch

I am searching for a trustworthy, best friend type to welcome to our kind, knowledgeable, family home. Our horses are treated as part of our family & they receive the absolute best of care. I would be happy to provide references & to keep in touch.

I have ridden for several years & consider myself a knowledgeable & capable rider. However, due to ongoing health issues with my horse, who is now retired, I haven’t ridden as consistently in more recent years & so I am no longer as confident as I once was. Therefore, I am seeking a laid back, best friend type, who does not need riding most days to remain safe & sane (realistically, I will generally ride 3-4 times a week).

We will be enjoying fun hacks from home, attending organised pleasure rides, forest trips, XC schooling & some clinics. I will at times want to hack alone but will also hack alongside my young daughter on her (sometimes quirky!) horse, so it is especially important that I find a level-headed, trustworthy type who I can depend on. Due to us going out in our horsebox regularly, I would like to find a horse who is good to load / travel &, most importantly, who remains calm & polite to handle & ride in different environments.

Our horses are kept at home with us & have all year turnout (stabled overnight during winter). I would love to find a gentle natured, polite character & a true best friend type.

We live in a rural area & although we generally meet very little traffic, when we do, it is often likely to be a tractor/farm vehicle. Therefore, it is hugely important that my new horse is confident around this type of traffic.

* I do appreciate that no horse is ‘perfect’ & that ‘bombproof’ does not exist & I am open to compromise, but please do just be honest about any possible known ‘issues’ as I will not buy unseen & would want to have any potential horse vetted *

We are based in Norfolk so ideally looking for something in or around East Anglia but would travel further if plenty of info, videos/photos could be provided beforehand. I have a sensible budget & very relaxed & loving forever home for the right horse.

Biggie - 16.3h 9 year old Danish Warmblood gelding by the famous “Vangelis”

A lovely stamp of a horse with loads of presence

Hacks out brilliantly alone or in company , will sit at the front back or somewhere in between.

A real easy horse to take out and about , loads first time every time on anything and is polite and easy to tack up and walk to a from rings ect Not at all nappy or Backward thinking.

I can take him to shows/hires alone with no trouble.

Brilliant with traffic infact you probably won’t find much better

Biggie is a real old fashioned stamp of a horse with good bone and conformation ideal for someone who likes the feeling of having a proper horse underneath you or to someone wanting a bit of a weight carrier.

He is Brilliant on the flat a real rocking horse ride , knows his way around the school inside and out and has done a bit of everything ready to teach someone what he knows or take someone through the levels.

He isn’t a novice ride because of the type of horse that he is , but he is about as straight forward as these big blood horses can be although he can be a bit strong at times this is his only fault. Never any badness behind it and he’s ridden and competed my small teenage girls daily.

Although he has plenty of jump he would also be happy in a local level riding club home as someone’s horse rather then a competition horse, he isnt a horse who need to be out competing and doing stuff every weekend you can do as much or as little as you like with him as you like and he’ll jump the same way round 50cm courses that he would 1.30.

Biggie has competed on the bsja circuit and has just this week stepped up and jumped his first 130.

He has all the jump in the world and never says no, he is a goer and would jump the moon if you asked him to.

He will jump any filler or any plank water tray ect and you could miss him 100 times and he will still keep coming he’s a horse with a heart the size of him .

Jumps ditched / hedges out hunting and has potential to also be a top class hunter or large riding horse.

He has never done it before but Would also excel in eventing as he definitely is the stamp to do so.

Never lame sick or sorry

No lumps or bumps

The EASIEST horse to have on the yard and I don’t say this lightly.

Perfect to clip shoe box ect and he’s around children/dogs/ general livestock and farm machinery daily

Everyone who meets him falls in love with his temperament, and he can’t wait to find his new best friend.

Genuine reason for sale on behalf of clients

Can help with transport if needed

  • Kind family horse looking for home for life

I am looking for a kind genuine horse to be my best friend for hacking, low level dressage, fun rides and a yearly holiday to the beach. Home for life awaits on a small private yard where horses are treated as individuals. I am not the most confident rider having had a sharp youngster but I am an experienced owner who can provide references and is happy to keep in contact. Looking for a horse to have love and have fun together at a low level.

The main priority is that my new horse is super safe to hack both alone and in company across the fields and out in traffic. I am looking to do some Novice Dressage but happy to put the work in. No vices and open to a vetting. Must be able to have a few days off without any drama. More of a family type than a competition horse. Ideally a ID/ ID x / Cob X / ISH - basically a MW type!

Stable ready and waiting! Mid teens budget.

⭐ Needs to find a lovely new home and sensible offers considered if sold over the next week or so ⭐

Previously has been sold for considerably more money but vetting noted slight changes on xray of hock. Never affected performance, always jumps brilliantly. We didn’t even know there was any issue - so have medicated the hock to ensure he is feeling at his best. This is reflected in the current price being much less than the original price. Tiger then sold again last week but buyer pulled out due to a serious horse related accident at an event.

The price also includes his tack.

Looking for a lovely, experienced teen or adult

Not a stopper - never refused - excellent record up to 1.15cm.

Excellent speed horse with great turns, fab in the jump off - ideal for junior moving up.

Light in the hand, good lateral flatwork.

Hacks alone and in company, good in a group, loves the gallops. Very good BD and BE100 records.

Excellent to box, shoe, clip and handle.

Tack included - quality jump saddle and Henry James bridle.

Snowy is an incredibly rare find and not many like him around anymore!

By the successful showjumping stallion ‘Phanteen’ a son of Concorde so impressive warm blood KWPN lines on the sire side, from the Irish sports horse dam Mount Blanc with a mix of Irish Draught breeding giving him quality and a great stamp!

An ideal allrounder done a bit of everything, hunted SJ XC showing so well and truly got the T Shirt.

Lovely big square type of a horse so would be a good weight carrier, snaffle mouthed and very simple easy ride. Goes very correctly on the flat so could do a very smart dressage test, does his flying changes and really enjoys all aspects of lateral work.

Forward going but not sharp, great scopey jump and not spooky with fillers has been out competing with us up too 1metre BS on a ticket proving bold, brave and very easy. Has jumped up too 1m30 at home with ease. He’s been cross country schooling and was very willing jumping a variety of fences at BE 100/Novice height straight into the water complex, ditches, combinations etc so could even be a super Eventer for someone.

You would also have an amazing days hunting on him so he really is the ultimate allrounder!

Hacks well in the forest, a nice person to have around very friendly and enjoys a fuss.

We can’t say enough nice things about him and will make someone the very best equine partner!

TALENTED SHOWJUMPING MARE

  • Straightforward to a jump

Talented, scopey and seriously exciting mare with 1.30m BS experience and multiple double clears at newcomers and foxhunters. She has competed at Chard 1* international in previous years.

Tequila Sunrise has been produced slowly by the same rider from 3yo up until now. She has low mileage for her age due to the rider initially concentrating on eventing and more recently due the rider being pregnant and other family circumstances. She is now back in full work and ready to get back out competing.

Tequila Sunrise is scopey and careful, she is straightforward to a jump and ridden in a snaffle. She is well schooled on the flat and good out hacking. She has XC schooled as a young horse and loved it. She would suit a competitive teenager with a good support team or a adult wanting a talented mare to take up the classes. She is a genuine competition prospect with the ability to progress up the levels.

A very sad sale due to financial and family circumstances and the priority is finding the best possible home and rider match Tequila Sunrise. She is being sold by owner who has had her since a 3-year old and she wouldn't be for sale if circumstances where different.

Lots of videos on request. Serious enquiries only and no timewasters, please.

We are looking for any breed for LWVTB as they will need to be trialled in our RDA environment before purchasing to see if they're suited to this lifestyle before a participant can ride them. This is as much for the ponies as the suitability for riders.

Must already be ridden and has to be over 5 yrs old (RDA rules). Can accept some quirks but must be safe for our disabled riders. They will also have to pass a stage 2 vetting which can be arranged whilst on loan.

We can offer a high standard of care, a light work load so older ages are acceptable if sound.

We have stables but they live out as much as possible even throughout winter. We can offer small herd/individual turnout.

If you would like to check out our RDA centre we are online and Facebook as Elisabeth Curtis Centre.
