Marmalade, affectionately known as Marmie, is a talented, genuine and incredibly brave mare with a huge amount of potential. She is a very careful jumper who hates touching a pole and will quite literally jump from anywhere to leave the fence standing. She has never refused a fence and is exceptionally honest, often taking a miss without hesitation.

Marmie has competed successfully at British Showjumping up to 1.20m and is still eligible for Discovery. She has achieved her Discovery and Newcomers double clears and has won numerous classes at 1.00m and 1.10m. She is extremely quick across the ground, naturally careful and has a fantastic ability to turn tightly, making her an exciting prospect for someone looking to progress up the levels.

She absolutely loves her job and loves jumping and, with the right rider, I genuinely believe she has the potential to go on to jump some very exciting tracks.

Marmie is a lovely mare to have around and is good to load, travel, shoe, bath etc. She is equally enjoyable on the flat and, with the right rider, would produce a lovely dressage test. She works best for a quiet, sympathetic rider with a light seat. She is not nasty or malicious in any way, although she can occasionally throw in a buck, which is easily managed, so she requires a confident and competent rider and is not suitable for a novice.

She is fantastic to hack both alone and in company and absolutely loves going to the beach, particularly the sea. She is an exceptionally brave mare who is the type to give her all for her rider. She also thoroughly enjoys cross-country and would have the potential to make a very exciting eventing prospect.

Marmie is straightforward to manage and is happy living in or out, day or night, and goes out happily with both mares and geldings.

The only reason for sale is due to a genuine lack of time. I currently work two jobs, and Marmie is the type of horse who deserves to be out competing regularly and working towards her full potential. This is a very difficult decision as she is a much-loved horse, and finding the right home is extremely important to me.

Bambi is incredibly well schooled, she rides entirely off the seat & leg meaning that whatever she can do with a bridle, she can also do without! She is always ridden in a snaffle.

To jump she is absolutely phenomenal. She is incredibly careful, stays in a lovely rhythm, doesn’t rush to a jump and will happily take a miss.

She has trained around 1.20 courses but is most comfortable & competitive up to 1.10 - we always come away with frillies at shows!

Quick in a jump off when asked - I’ve had lots of fun with some crazy turns and she always takes it in her stride and locks onto the next jump.

She hasn’t been out recently as I’m struggling to find time to ride her.

Brilliant feet, (shod in front, barefoot behind) could easily go barefoot in front.

Good to clip, shoe, load, dentist etc. Very laidback to handle around the yard - leads in without a headcollar, gets ridden out to the field bareback. Lives in a mixed herd.

Perfect to hack alone or in company in all traffic (we hack on a lorry road), always on the buckle and the confidence giver for other horses on a hack.

Never been lame, sick or sorry. Don’t be put off by her age - I know her full history and she has never been pushed. Not showing any signs of slowing down!

Bambi is not suitable for a nervous rider. She is perfectly relaxed and easy to ride for a confident rider, however she can pick up on a rider’s nerves and become tense.

She does have mild headshaking syndrome but this has never affected her work - she’s absolutely fine in the winter and just needs to wear a nose net in the summer.

Her only vice is that she cribs. This has never been a problem for us, we put a wooden bar on her stable door so that she can crib as she pleases and replace it every couple of years when she wears through it. She has never had any other issues stemming from the cribbing. I don’t want her going to someone who will put a collar on her or try to stop her.

Very honest sale and only to go to the best of homes who we hope to stay in touch with - there is the opportunity for continued coaching from myself for someone local! Only for sale as I’ve just got too many horses and don’t have the time to ride her, would absolutely love to keep her.

She has since received veterinary treatment and her minor lameness has improved considerably. She remains in full work, although she may still show approximately 1/10 lameness when circled on a hard surface. She is also carrying a little more weight than ideal.

Her veterinary findings, treatment and progress will be discussed openly with serious prospective buyers.

This is a very difficult and genuine sale. Her price is substantially below what a mare of her quality, temperament and competition record would otherwise command, reflecting the findings from her recent vetting and the management she may require.
