Originally trained as an eventer, a sad sale as he has been a bit too strong/had bitting issues cross country we think he is better suited to go show jumping owing to his scope.

17.2hh | 9-Year-Old Gelding by Spartacus

Quality, low-mileage gelding with scope and a very exciting future.

Kermit is a 17.2hh, 9-year-old homebred gelding by Spartacus, out of a Vaillant (For Pleasure) mare. Spartacus is a proven international sire, having won the Grand Prix of Oslo and achieved numerous placings at 1.60m level.

Kermit is only offered for sale because he has simply grown too big for me. At 5’2”, I can no longer do him justice over the bigger tracks.

Although lightly competed for his age, Kermit has all the attributes to make a top horse in the right hands. Last year my brother competed him up to Foxhunter level, while at home and at training venues he has comfortably schooled around 1.30m–1.40m.

Due to his limited competition mileage, he can still be a little spooky in the ring at times. As a naturally careful horse, he likes to have a look, but he is incredibly genuine and forgiving of rider mistakes or less-than-perfect distances. Despite his size, he is quick, athletic and careful, with plenty of scope.

Kermit hasn’t been jumped in the ring since last summer due to a major house and yard move from Devon to the midlands. He is now fit, back in work, and ready for someone to continue his education and take him further.

He is a pleasure to have around, with excellent manners both at home and at shows. Easy to handle, load, travel and do on the yard.

His pedigree speaks for itself, and his dam has already produced proven talent. His full sister, standing just 15.2hh (I’m still not sure where Kermit’s extra height came from!), has successfully competed at 1.30m, and his younger siblings are also showing plenty of promise.

Kermit is a quality horse with low mileage, a fantastic temperament, scope and carefulness. With the right rider, I believe he has the ability to become a very competitive horse and has a very exciting future ahead.

Fun, genuine and straightforward, with a willing attitude, excellent paces and a fantastic jump – the sort that’s becoming increasingly hard to find.

Completely un-mareish, easy in every way and happy living in or out, alone or in company (with mares or geldings!).

She loves her jumping and is brave and genuine to a fence, she’ll jump any filler, has plenty of scope and is very forgiving if her rider gets it wrong. She’s been to a handful of shows and clear rounds where she’s taken everything in her stride. She’s currently popping 1.15/1.20 at home.

She was impeccable when autumn hunting and also loved cross-country schooling around BE90/100, including corners, hedges, ditches, skinnies and straight in and out of water.

Nancy is great to hack, both alone and in company, and will happily lead or be led. She’s fantastic with traffic, tractors, trailers, combines, birds flying out of hedges or dogs running around her legs. My boyfriend, who had never ridden before, has hacked her too!

She’s easy to do in all ways, load, travel, stand on the van, shoe and catch. Doesn’t need riding every day.

Nancy had back surgery 3 years ago; she was carefully rehabilitated and returned to ridden work within six months, in line with veterinary advice. All videos in this advert were taken post-surgery. I’m very happy to share her full veterinary records, including the surgical report, with genuinely interested parties.

Ryana is extremely well bred, with plenty of 1.60m jumpers throughout her bloodlines. Her mother has already produced a 135 and 140 jumper. She is very athletic and shows top scope. Last year she jumped clear in 4yo classes, including placing equal 1st in the 4yo qualifier at Hickstead and jumping a super round in the 4yo final in the main ring. After having a break to grow and mature, she went to her first international and first abroad show at Sunshine Tour, Spain. She jumped incredibly, stepping up to jump clear in her first 120 classes. She then went on to Chard where she was equal 1st in the 5yo class and jumped a super clear in the 5yo Grand Prix. She is recently home from Bolesworth where she jumped clear all three days in the CSIYH 5yo classes.

She is very brave in a big atmosphere - she is regularly hacked out by our 16 year old apprentice and has also been cross country with our groom jumping everything including ditches and in an out of the water first time. She also rides well on the flat, snaffle mouthed, does her changes etc.

Ryana is a very easy horse to have around on the yard, she is good to shoe, clip, turnout/bring in, lives in or out, good to catch, bath, load and travel.
