Happy Hackers: 15hh & Over

Quality piebald mare

Ref #: 396569

SOLD!

We have bred and owned Mulligan all her life. She has always been super easy to do, so much so, shes always the one who gets left, and not ridden. Whilst I find her super easy, and if anything, I like it when shes not been ridden for a month and is a little fresh, we have had a few try her and found her too forward for them.

There is no need to kick on this mare, leg on means go. She marchs in walk and trots out, keeping up with any horse. She loves a canter across the fields and tracks, but pulls up easy in a snaffle.

Personally I find circles in an arena boring, (plus we don’t have an arena) so we do not do it. If you want a dressage horse, you will need to put the work in, as our idea of fun is hacking. However she has been to dressage and show jump shows with a friend many years ago, so the buttons will still be there, its up to you if you want them, and if so you might need to re program.

Her forte is hacking, heavy traffic is no issue, gates she’s a pro, she’s safe in open spaces, she goes first or last, and is confident on her own.

You can ride and lead her, or from her, so super easy.

She is a unit, i’m 5ft6 and she takes up my leg, and some, I’ve never felt too big for her. Shes super comfortable to ride with plenty of neck and shoulder in front of you.

She is only for sale as I’ve bred myself a taller version and if she gets ridden once a fortnight she’s done well.

If you are into your gypsy cob breeding you will see she has great breeding, and is very correct if you wanted to show.

She needs her own person, but if you are coming from a riding school, are used to kicking every stride, or are hoping for a mother daughter share for your ten year old who is still struggling with rising trot, she is unlikely to be for you, you are likely to feel over horsed.

She is kind, super fun and gives you a great fun ride.

She is and has always been barefoot, easy to clip, bath, spray etc. She is vaccinated, has had a foal (we are a stud) three years ago which she did easily and her foal is still with us (also for sale).

Her ideal home is someone who wants to hack out, have a good canter across fields, do some fun rides etc

We have them in each night, and in the winter we have little / no turnout and she’s happy to stay in 24/7. She doesn’t get fresh or silly when in.

The home and person is every important, as she is a member of our family, but she is surplus to needs at the moment, and she could give someone a lot of fun.

She has a Kent & Masters saddle, Seddon bridle and a larger wardrobe than me that I’m happy to discuss

Due to personal circumstances this is a sad sale of Silvia.

I am 79: years of age and hacked her out and brought her on with schooling. My aim was to show her and compete at Equifest.

I feel she is now ready to be taken further and enjoy herself, she takes everything in her stride.

She has three forward and very comfortable paces.

I have clipped her, bathed pulled tail and is no trouble. Good with farrier.

Ideally a mother daughter share might suit her.

She is extremely pretty and as they say in the cob world, she has the head of a Duchess.

16hh bay TB 11yo mare.

Has previously raced, then been a broodmare. Producing 2 offspring that have both gone on to race on the flat.

Since then has been owned by a girl for the last 3 years. Mainly for hacking/ fun rides, going off road, and riding at home in school.

She is a well put together horse with a super temperament. Very easy to do in the ground.

Excellent in traffic, shoe, catch, etc.

She is a typical TB to ride, forward going, keen, but not spooky or nappy/naughty.

Could be put back in foal, would breed a super eventer or PC allrounder if put to a Connemara, or a WB.

  • 10 years

  • Lovely large paces.
  • Kind sensible temperament.
  • Not bothered by large farm machinery or animals..

Nia is the calmest mare you will meet she takes everything in her stride never reacting silly or stupid. We live on a busy farm with large machinery going past daily as well as large farm animals and she never flinches and takes it all in her stride. She has lovely large paces which would allow her to excel in a dressage career in the future, she also loves hacking which she is ridden in a snaffle for to be taken in open fields and can be ridden by a small child easily being a massive confidence giver.

She however does not enjoy jumping, she will jump a small course of around 70-80 by herself if she is feeling confident, although she will follow on a funride when given the additonal confidence of a lead but without the lead she does not enjoy it and therefore I want her to find a home where the primary discipline will not be jumping as it is not her passion.

I have had her 3 years and therefore this is an extremely difficult sale, I am wanting to move up the levels in eventing on a more sharper horse as well as going to university in September which is why I want to find Nia a 5* home.

  • Tom — 15hh, 13yo Connemara Gelding
  • An absolutely cracking, genuine and fun all-rounder
  • The sort that is very hard to find

Tom is an absolutely cracking, genuine and fun all-rounder — the sort that is very hard to find. He truly is as close to a unicorn as you’ll come across.

An experienced pony with miles under his belt in all spheres, Tom would make a fantastic Pony Club or Riding Club partner, and would equally suit a working livery, college or riding school environment. He has competed successfully at numerous unaffiliated competitions and takes everything in his stride.

On the flat, Tom works nicely in the school with attractive, comfortable paces. He produces a flying change and is happy working both in a soft outline or on a looser contact. He has a lovely way of going and would look right at home in the hunter/jumper ring in the USA — an extremely cute and eye-catching type who also schools beautifully on the flat.

Tom thoroughly enjoys his jumping, both showjumping and cross-country. He is honest, bold and genuine, happily taking his rider to a fence without being spooky or sharp. He’s forgiving of a missed stride, looks after both himself and his rider, and gives confidence.

Out hacking, he is excellent in traffic and sensible to ride alone or in company, and super in open spaces.

He is also a lovely pony to have around the yard — affectionate, cuddly and kind, with excellent stable manners.

No vices.

16.1 bay gelding, showjumper most of his life, 50 points off being a grade A.

Looking for a quieter life (not that he thinks so) for someone to hack/ funrides/ schooling with a bit of jumping.

He still loves to jump but does need an experienced rider who can see a stride, pops around 1m/1.05 at home with ease but I wouldn’t want him to compete more than 90cm this is about his max and it’s not big enough for me anymore.

He is a saint out hacking and he really enjoys it. He has been a lead horse for our riding school hacks and Iv even had my pony club children hack him.

Iv owned him for 3 years, he’s won multiple classes, rugs etc.

He has had sinusitis operations last year which has been all he’s had wrong with him through his life (I know the girl who bred him) he never had a day off except to heal from the op. Willing to talk to anyone about this if you’re interested in him.

He is a forward horse, ridden in a snaffle at all times, doesn't change whether you ride him once a week or once a month.

Home more important than price

  • Would be the perfect horse to aim at the HOYS bronze league final.

Capitols girl (known on the yard as Nina) is a sweet natured, kind, 15.3hh, 17 year old Mare. She would be best suited to a teenager/young adult who wants to go out and have some fun Showjumping!

Nina is an epic horse who has lots of scope up to around 90/95 competing up to 1.10 with her previous owner. She knows and loves her job, competing all over the country. Previous records include:

* Win at Hickstead derby meeting

* Qualified main arena royal international

* Qualified main arena September meeting

* Countless other wins

She also absolutely loves her hacking and has previously been hacked by a 10 year old girl.

Would be the perfect horse to aim at the HOYS bronze league final.

She travels and loads very well. Good to bath, groom, stands quietly to be tacked up and is not mare-ish in any way. She’s currently in work and in good condition. Nina also needs an annual SI injection, last done 2 months ago.

Up to date with all teeth, vaccinations, farrier, worming.

Sad sale as we have recently had a huge vets bill from colic surgery on another pony. Serious enquires and a 5* home only for this amazing mare. No offers. No tack included in sale

Forever horse wanted for loving home

Ref #: 414667

I'm looking for a partner, a best friend and hopefully my horse for many years to come.

After returning to riding following a long break, I've realised that temperament means far more to me than breeding, competition record or colour. I'm looking for the horse that makes me smile every time I walk into the stable.

About me:

I am an adult rider returning after many years away, because, life.
My horse will be kept on a beautiful full livery yard in Essex, receive first-class care and want for absolutely nothing.

This is very much a forever-home search. I'm not looking to buy, enjoy for six months and move on. I'm looking for the horse I'll build a genuine partnership with and they will be part of our family. My daughter is also beginning her own horse journey, so finding a kind, trustworthy horse who could one day quietly introduce her to the joy of horses would be incredibly special.

My ideal horse:

* Around 15.2hh–16.2hh (I'll happily consider something slightly outside this for the right horse)

* Approximately 8–12 years old, although age isn't everything if the temperament is right

* Mare or gelding

* Kind, genuine and confidence giving

* Happy hacking alone and in company

* Good in traffic and open spaces

* Easy to catch, shoe, clip, load and handle

* Happy to enjoy hacking, riding club activities, clinics, fun rides and the occasional small jump, but equally content simply being someone's best friend

I don't need a superstar.

I don't need a horse with an impressive competition record.

I simply want an honest horse who enjoys being with people and deserves a loving, long-term home.

What I can offer:

⭐ A genuine forever home

⭐ Full livery with excellent daily care and year round turnout

⭐ Regular lessons and sympathetic riding

⭐ Plenty of love, attention and fuss

⭐ A home where our horse will always come before ribbons or results

If you've been thinking about selling but have been waiting for the right person and this sounds like the sort of home you’d want for your horse, I'd love to chat with you. I'm based in Essex but I'm happy to travel for the right horse.

Thank you for reading, and I look forward to hearing about your special horse.

Tyson is a lovely chap who is looking for his new home to carry on his education and form a partnership with. An absolute sweetheart on the ground, he loves lot of cuddles and attention. Brilliant to clip, shoe and load - he lives in or out and walks up to you in the field. He is forward thinking and sensitive therefore not for a complete novice, but has never bucked ,reared or napped. His is ready to find his new home who can continue his education.

On the flat, Tyson has beautiful, flashy movement and with continued training is sure to impress the dressage judges in the future. He has very quickly learnt leg yields and counter canter proving to be trainable, with a lovely willing attitude.

Tyson has jumped a few double clears at British Novice, and although he has his own style, he is very careful and forgiving. He has been xc schooling a couple of times and went straight through the water, over and the ditch and over the logs without any hesitation. With time and training he could make a lovely grassroots horse.

Tyson is a lovely horse to hack, on his own or in company. He will happily take the lead or go at the back with his ears pricked and a spring in his step - also nannying the babies. He would be perfect for pleasure rides and although he hasn't hunted, I have no doubt he will! He is a lovely character who is ready for his next rider to continue his training in a sensitive and patient way.

Tyson is a homebred and therefore home is more important then price.

5yo gelding, approx. 16hh by Usher Van Overis Z

I can’t overstate what a darling Chester is. He gets on with every horse and person he meets and has the friendliest, loving temperament.

Lacks mileage as he was backed at 4 and then turned away to mature, so has only started his proper ridden education this summer. He’s got decent bone and is starting to fill out nicely now. Chester is still green and currently lacks confidence hacking on his own. He would benefit from a home where he can hack in company while he continues to gain confidence and mileage.

An absolute gent on the ground. Happy being in or out. No vices. Good to catch, tie up, bath and trim. He has very good feet and is currently barefoot.

Due to vet history, he would be happiest in a hacking, fun ride and general low level all-rounder home. It requires no ongoing management, and I can openly share more information on this. He also has some small bumps on his underside but they are nowhere near tack.

Please, no dealers, novices or nervous riders, as although he’s 5, he’s green.

Seeking my next perfect pony! Must haves between - 14.2h and 15.2h, between - 6 and 15 , although would change for the perfect one.

Needs to be within 2 and a half hours of Derbyshire. would go further for the perfect one

MUST be safe around traffic , farm machinery , farm animals ( as I live on a farm ), happy hacking , schooling , fun rides , smaller jumps , local shows - showing , dressage etc

All year round turn out on private land , living with a Connie gelding and mini Shetland gelding ( can be in separate field)

Massive stables roughly 4 times bigger than an average one ! videos and pictures can be provided

Lots of land to hack around.

My preferred breed is a chunky traditional Connemara just because I love the breed so much my previous Connemara gave me so much but he is retired now , but would consider something else that fits the bill , but Connies really are my fav !

I previously had a bad accident with my last pony on the road with a tractor and my confidence is very low , it's very important that my next pony is very safe confidence giver. I am aware no horse is perfect but I don't want anything sharp or spooky and nothing that bolts , rears or bucks , strong etc
more woah than go

I would prefer no health issues but if it's something slight I will consider.
more must haves are good loading , good for farrier , dentist , for leading and for the vet.

I have had weekly dressage lessons for over a year and then monthly lessons with jumping the year before , spent a lot of time hacking ,before my accident. I have had horses for many years and was a competent rider until my accident where I lost confidence.

I am aware this is a lot to ask for but I know somewhere they must be one for me :) genuine 10 star home awaits thanks !
