Spartan is an outstanding home bred Friesian Sports Horse colt.

His father was a registered 17.2hh baroque Friesian stallion with enormous flamboyant movement. His mother, an ISH and successful former showjumper, also 17.1hh. Both with the most wonderful temperaments and bags of charisma. This boy got the best from both and is expected to reach 17-17.2hh. He has the Friesian looks and charm, with versatility of an ISH.

He was imprint trained from birth, and handled daily for his first year, before going off to live in a colt herd for the last 18 months. I have personally put over 100 hours of groundwork training in with him and absolutely nothing phases him. As a yearling I felt safer having my kids around him than a lot of adult horses. He has been around noisy children, dogs, never scared of machinery or tractors in the yard etc.

He’s had the best feed, care and socialisation I could possibly give him, given that I bred him to keep for myself. However, we have emigrated to the USA and the import costs are so high that the idea of moving him has become unrealistic.

Spartan will make a terrific young dressage horse or allrounder. He will be a breeze to back, given the handling he has had. I have a lot of videos of him from when he was a year old, and one more recent video too. Amongst these I have a video of me sitting on his back while he was laid down in the field. He is truly one in a million and will be an absolute dream horse for someone.

Very serious enquiries only please, this was a very difficult decision. I am looking for a 5* home for him.

He is based at a stud in Kent. He is 100% open to vetting and has never been lame or sick.

Foundation (Fidertanz x De Vito) needs little introduction as his reputation precedes him. Scoring a 10 for both his trot and canter at his performance tests he has gone on to successfully compete at international grand prix level and in 2020 was awarded the Grande Prize, a special award handed out annually by the Hanoverian Breed Society to a successful Hanoverian breeding stallion.

Valverde (Vitalis x Ampere) was the champion stallion of the Westphalian licensing in 2016 and a successful breeding stallion. His father Vitalis was the beautiful son of Vivaldi and his mother by Ampere who was the KWPN champion stallion in 2008.
