Duque is a stunning 16-year-old grey Spanish/Cruzado gelding, standing approximately 15.3hh. He has a Spanish passport and is fully microchipped.
Duque was trained in Spain and has been taught a number of traditional Spanish tricks and movements. He can perform Spanish Walk, bow down on command and several other tricks. He is a clever horse who clearly has had plenty of training in the past, and videos of what he can do are available on request.
We are not advertising Duque as a dressage horse or schoolmaster. He is a Spanish trick-trained horse who we feel has plenty of potential in the right hands. He would suit a knowledgeable, confident home where someone has the time and experience to work with him, continue his training and bring the best out of him.
He hacks alone or in company, is confident in traffic and is generally sensible. He is good to handle on the ground and good to load, clip, catch, bath and with the farrier.
When we purchased Duque, he successfully passed a full 5-stage pre-purchase veterinary examination. The complete vetting report is available for serious buyers.
This is a very reluctant sale due to a change in family circumstances. My father, who has been primarily responsible for Duque’s day-to-day care, will be travelling for an extended period, meaning we unfortunately won’t have the time to give Duque the attention he deserves.
Our priority is finding him a genuine, knowledgeable and caring home. We believe there is a lot more to get out of Duque with the right person who understands Spanish horses and is willing to put the time into building a partnership with him.
