Sidney the Suffolk, 2019 Chesnut gelding standing at approximately 17hh, this lovely boy is the perfect model of a Suffolk, he really is a giant, leg in each corner mobile armchair!

Sidney offers a lovely steady ride in all three paces, snaffle mouthed and a gentleman to be around. He will pop a small jump, small ditch or a log, he isn’t going to jump around hickstead this year, but he certainly is a safe, reliable, weight carrying horse with plenty to give.

Sidney enjoys hacking, he is super in open spaces, traffic, busy environments and farm machinery, he’s also proven to be fantastic in open spaces, a big solid reliable horse. He has been worked in long reins too, and will drag, he would make a good prospect for driving or dragging, equally he’s a fantastic riding horse.

Sidney is a sweet boy on the ground, enjoys human company, and is very affectionate, he’s mannerly for such a big horse and very easy and laid back to have around.

A really lovely type who is older than his years and a rare model.

Open to any vet or trainer.

Trial period available.

DO YOU HAVE A HORSE OR PONY SUITABLE FOR THE RDA?

WANTED ON LONG TERM LOAN / PURCHASE

Ref #: 249896
  • If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below
  • If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below

One of the main issues that RDA groups face is finding an Equine to suit the needs of the participants in their group.

We are regularly contacted with offers of Equines that are ‘the ideal RDA horse or pony’ when actually what is ideal for one group may not be for the next. We are trying to move away from the stereotypical view that RDA Equines are elderly and somewhat static, our horses and ponies need to be fit, healthy and athletic to cope with the lifestyle in an RDA group.

They can range from smaller, forward going ponies to weight carrying cobs and can take part in a range of disciplines from Riding to Carriage Driving, Vaulting to Show Jumping and Endurance.

If you contact an RDA Group about your Equine please be prepared to fill in an Equine Initial Interest Form which will ask you many questions about your horses’ temperament, health history, experience and lifestyle. Many groups will prefer to have an equine on trial to make sure they are suitable for the job.

For long term loans and purchases they will also be required to have a Pre-Purchase Examination.

If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below.

This little mare was backed in her early years then used as a broodmare for several foals.

I bought her as a project pony but sadly due to unforeseen circumstances I can no longer keep her.

She is a smart looking mare , moves very correctly and has nice confirmation.

She would make a lovely pony for a small adult or experience child to bring on for pony club etc.

She would also be a very smart driving pony.

King Benny! Approx 15hh, 4 year old Irish cob gelding. A solid cob but not overly wide, good conformation/feet and straight moving.

Super little allrounder type, ride and drive. Sweet little cob who is a joy to have around.

Backed and riding away well in all 3 paces. Hacks confidently alone and good in traffic / and with tractors / push bikes / dog walkers. Hacks happily in company and will go in front or behind. Enjoys boxing up for a hack and navigating his way over logs in the woods! Riding sweetly on the flat for his age/type with naturally balanced paces. Popping a little fence. We haven’t driven him here as don’t have any gear but have a couple of short vids of him driving and previous home says he’s a great driving cob.

Easy to have around and good to handle. Funny cheeky character and anything left near him goes in his mouth! Loves people and enjoys attention. Currently living in as our fields are underwater and he’s happy being stabled.

Recent clean 5 stage vetting on import (8th March).

Video attached to advert. If you call and I don’t answer please send a text and I’ll call back as soon as I can. Please don’t leave a voicemail they don’t work on my phone very well!

Terrific Tennessee Joe

Ref #: 318080

  • Stepping cob/Friesian cross with enormous ability and potential
  • Has been driven and has a full 4x4 flying trot.
  • Loves to show jump with no fears or issues

Joey is a Stepping Cob (Lucky Shamrock)/Friesian (Tilly Trotter) 7 year old gelding. 15.2 hh approx, super intelligent and strong as an ox.

We bred Joey and still own his mother, so we know all of Joey's history from birth. He was backed to be a riding and driving horse but the driving training has not been maintained so although he has been driven this would have to be retrained.

He has an amazing 4x4 trot and loves jumping, he is as bold as brass, no filler or water tray can put this horse off jumping.

Our intention was to show him in hand but Covid and family illness limited time for training.

He has been to boot camp for riding due to lack of use but is now in regular work. He requires a confident, experienced rider to give him the time and attention he needs.

With the right person he will be an exhilarating ride and a wonderful companion.

Joey has no problems with farrier, vet or travelling. He is on a livery yard in South West Lincolnshire, not far from Newark, and we would prefer for him to stay there.

This is a great opportunity to join a yard that normally has a substantial waiting list. The yard holds many competitions and social events throughout the year and has a reputation for excellent training and friendship.

Joey is a valuable horse and he is a loan with a view to buy with a minimum of a 3 month loan. He has some quirks which will be explained at the viewing which is why we would prefer to loan first to make sure of the perfect match.

Someone will be very lucky to own Joey, he is an affectionate, talented boy with brain and lots of engine, but he does come with his quirks that need to be seriously considered.

The video was Joey’s first time in the grass arena and also his first time jumping a full course.

If you feel you are a candidate to spend lots of time with this boy please give us a call and we can chat further about all you need to know.

Please no dealers, novices or time wasters, we have a huge interest in Joey's welfare and making sure this boy gets the right forever home.

Boo is a twin (twin mare also available). Unbroken but well handled, ready for backing. Lives out in the day in a herd with another mare and gelding and brought in at night. We have had the pleasure of owning from 9 months old.

Intelligent and quick to learn with big personality to match. Easy to catch, lead, groom, rug and handle.

Naturally confident and friendly, enjoys attention and wants to be involved in what is going on.

The twins are a lovely matched pair and provide lots of fun and entertainment, would make great allrounders or even a fabulous driven pair.

Now ready for a home where someone can put their own stamp on them.

Fully passported and open to views and vetting. Vaccs and worming all up to date. Good for farrier.
