Safe Sound Wonderful School Master

Safe Sound Wonderful School Master

Ref #: 324687
  • Safe / Not Spooky / Balanced
£10,000
  • Welsh Section B
  • Bay
  • Gelding
  • 14 years
  • 13.2 hands
  • Safe / Not Spooky / Balanced

We have owned sweet Sid for just one year and he has been an absolute super star. The sweetest kind natured pony. He’s patient, easy going and safe!

Safety was a big deal for us when we were looking for Sid, my daughter had had her confidence knocked before, so it was of the utmost importance to find a pony that helped her progress her confidence gradually whilst maintaining safety and Sid has given her this in bucket loads.

Sid is a real school master, a bit more of a second pony than a first, as he’s not a kick along but he is a snaffle mouth, not strong at all and very responsive to the aids. Although he could be a first in some respects, as he would be a fantastic lead rein pony, as he is so good to lead and lunge and someone could learn to ride on him on the lunge, as he is so well balanced.

He has super at grid and pole work, very eager to please, lovely on the flat and will do a lovely dressage test and his flat work is well established and he is excellent at flying changes.

He is safe reliable, trustworthy and such a confidence giver. As I’ve mentioned, he’s a little more forward than a first pony but he does take his lead from his rider, so can step it up or down if necessary.

We have schooled him many times around the cross country this summer, as we have great facilities where we are. He’s good with water, ditches, bold and brave and has brought my daughter from a nervous beginner at cross country, to jumping courses of fences at 70 & 80cm, with my daughter oozing confidence.

Sadly our daughter needs to move on to a bigger 14.2, as she is growing like a weed. So this is a very sad sale. Sid has given my daughter so much & she has come on leaps and bounds since having him but like all these stages in riding, kids just want to keep moving forward, so it is time for our lovely Sid to find a new home to help out another progressing young rider.

He’s good to clip, load, will stand quietly and happily at shows tied to the box with no fuss. Good stable manners. Up to date with vaccines and worming.
Loves to hack out and good to hack alone or with company.

He’s competed at shows with us & with our school team events at Hickstead, Rectory Farm etc.. Jumping clear at 50/ 60 / 70cm.

Been happily off to summer camp for a week and was easy to travel and be away with. He really is such an easy, good boy.

At home he is schooling at 85/90cm regularly.

We are obviously looking for Sid to go to the kindest home , where we know he will be treated with care and be loved as much as we love him. His previous home, had him for about 2 years and he was ridden but a younger rider. Whom we are still Intouch with. Videos and more pictures available on request. All enquires to our coach Laura.

Extremely sad sale on behalf of owners as rider out of class.

William has the heart of a lion and is very genuine.

Real easy straightforward ride. He would easily take around a novice rider. He will take your rider from jumping 1m tracks all the way to the top.

Low mileage and not reached his full potential yet through no fault of his own.

Qualified 148cm Restricted Open Final 2024.

Kindest temperament, great to hack, shoe, box, clip. Has previously evented, rides to the beach etc, a very easy pony all round to deal with.

5 star home only please for this special pony.

Open to any vetting and great trial facilities.

Reasonably priced to sell.

Fabulous pony trials prospect. Full up 148 with FEI / JMB measure.

10 year old Diva is a talented and brave. We bought her from her breeder hence all history is known.

She was produced as an eventer so plenty of XC experience, although she has not done a lot of this with us.

Jumped up to 115 BS in the ring, training 120+ at home. Successfully competing up to Elementary dressage, training Medium at home.

Extremely trainable due to being athletic and intelligent. Sane, reliable and now snaffled mouthed in everything – she has done bare back gallops on the beach, will hack alone or in company on roads, and in open fields on the buckle.

Her inconsistent BS record speaks more of the rider’s lack of confidence than the pony’s abilities.

She’s not the cuddliest of ponies, with a sassy attitude. Having said that, she has been handled by my teenage daughter for everything (loading, clipping, grooming etc) since she was young and inexperienced.

A very sad sale due to being off ponies this year.

She has taught my daughter so much, we owe it to her to find her the perfect experienced and kind home.

Wins at all NSEA disciplines
Smurf’s results speak for themselves.  We have owned Smurf for 18 months and he has done everything anyone could wish for and more.  He is the most wonderful pony.
We have full history of Smurf from 4 years old and are in contact with his two previous owners.

Smurf is the most amazing, kind, honest pony.  He is a really fabulous XC pony while still being able to produce dressage scores in the 20s.  He is well-behaved, well schooled and beautiful!

We have competed him at numerous NSEA events and he always comes home with a rosette. He has enough presence to do BSPS Connie WHP classes and would also excel at BD.

At home Smurf is a delight to have in the yard; good to box (trailer or lorry), shoe and clip, hacks in company and by himself.  No vet issues or vices.  He is easy to produce and loves having fun with his rider on group rides, PC rallies and fun outings.

He is ridden in a happy-mouth snaffle for all disciplines, he hunts and has wonderful manners, with the ability to stay with the field over timber or hedges.

We are only selling him as he is outgrown. Looking for an amazing home where he can help a new smaller jockey start their 80cm journey on an incredible pony who has the ability to go 90cm.

Seen at livery.

DO YOU HAVE A HORSE OR PONY SUITABLE FOR THE RDA?

WANTED ON LONG TERM LOAN / PURCHASE

Ref #: 249896
  • If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below
  • If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below

One of the main issues that RDA groups face is finding an Equine to suit the needs of the participants in their group.

We are regularly contacted with offers of Equines that are ‘the ideal RDA horse or pony’ when actually what is ideal for one group may not be for the next. We are trying to move away from the stereotypical view that RDA Equines are elderly and somewhat static, our horses and ponies need to be fit, healthy and athletic to cope with the lifestyle in an RDA group.

They can range from smaller, forward going ponies to weight carrying cobs and can take part in a range of disciplines from Riding to Carriage Driving, Vaulting to Show Jumping and Endurance.

If you contact an RDA Group about your Equine please be prepared to fill in an Equine Initial Interest Form which will ask you many questions about your horses’ temperament, health history, experience and lifestyle. Many groups will prefer to have an equine on trial to make sure they are suitable for the job.

For long term loans and purchases they will also be required to have a Pre-Purchase Examination.

If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below.

Charm has taken us from amateur showing to winning at BSPS Champs & Competing at RI. She also won TSR rising stars.

Great prospect for the new TSR format, whereby only home produced can qualify for HOY’s.

We have so many wonderful wins and memories with this much loved pony who is sadly outgrown and out of class.

Charm has helped my daughter successfully transition from Lead Rein to First Ridden and knows her job in the ring.

We have also competed in Concours on and off Lead Rein, as well as producing a great Dressage Test.

Looking for the best home.

Top quality pony with a fantastic temperament and a real gentleman (very hard to find sort). Yard favorite as he is so easy.

Competed dressage up to elementary at BD including Area Festivals (and also unaffiliated). He has been well schooled throughout his life and he knows all the movements (including half pass) and balanced counter canter. He has a great work ethic and is quick to learn.

I have jumped him up to 80cm with ease (which is as high as I want to go as I am dressage focused and too old for the big tracks now). With me he is honest to a fence, good with his feet and he’s quick against the clock. He is careful and does not touch the fences. He does not get silly or heat up and listens. Can do a flying change.

He is always in the ribbons in all disciplines and usually first or second. We have so many rosettes I keep having to buy new holders for them.

Forward off the leg but never fizzy, you can leave him unridden for a week and he’s the same, you don’t have to lunge him. Always ridden in a snaffle. Safe enough that I have put very young children and grandmothers on his back (even whilst other horses are going nutty in the same arena) but he is not a boring plod along, loves a good gallop (when asked but happy to walk if you say that’s as fast as you want to go).

He is affectionate (always a whinny and lots of kisses to greet you), loves to be with you (will follow you around the stable and arena) but is a little face shy. He is very easy to love as he has a sweet nature and will always bow to your will (in the saddle and on the ground).

Loads in a trailer or a lorry and travels like a saint.

No vices (ground or stable), never bucked or reared (he is too much of a gentlemen). Never sick or sorry, up to date on vaccinations, teeth and worming. He has always been bare foot and has great feet, super with the farrier and to be clipped.

Good do-er and doesn’t need hay soaking or grazing muzzle in the summer.

Good to hack alone or in company, good in open spaces, will go first or last. Good with farm machinery and busses.

Passed a 5* vet just over 12 months ago. I have all his history all the way back to his first owner (only for sale as my girls have lost interest and he is a little bit too small for my husband).

Would suit a huge variety of homes as he is good across the disciplines and happy to be ridden by a teenager who either wants to have some fun or get serious or an adult looking to be competitive and safe.

Competition fit and ready to go.

Tack and wardrobe available under separate negotiation (if required).

No loans, trials or joy riders.

We’ve had the pleasure of owning Polly for the past 3.5 years, we bought her for our then 8 year old daughter who was moving off her 11.2 lead rein/first ridden. Previously a mannerly working hunter Pony, Polly stepped down to trotting and popping 50/60 cm classes in all disciplines and really looked after Flora. During their time together they have progressed to consistently jumping 70/80 level at showjumping, arena eventing and one day events, she rarely comes home without a ribbon!

As keen members of the pony club, they have attended numerous camps, clinics and rallies. They have represented The Burghley across the disciplines qualifying for the champs year after year, at both 70 & 80 level.

Polly loves to hack, living on a farm she is used to heavy machinery and open spaces and although strong and keen, she is very safe both alone and in company. My daughter has hacked her alone since she was 9 and I trust her implicitly. She has never bucked, bolted, reared or napped.

Polly is a dream to handle both at home and at shows for children, mummies and non horsey dads, she is polite, calm and gentle. She’s good to clip, load (trailer or lorry) shoe and travel, she happily lives in or out and has no hang ups about life. She absolutely loves her work, but equally she can have a week or two off and happily be picked up again. Up to date with jabs, teeth and physio.

We have loved every minute of owning this delightful pony, she has looked after my daughter when required and then stepped up to be her first competition pony, showing her the ropes and teaching her how to ride competitively across the disciplines. She is now ready to do this for another child and give them the same joy we have experienced.

We are seeking a five star loving home for this very special pony where she will want for nothing.

No loans, leases or trials.

Many more photos and videos on request.

Ollie - Handsome 13.3h registered Welsh D gelding, 14yo. He has a really lovely temperament, he’s well mannered to handle in all ways and so affectionate & friendly. The first one to neigh in the morning to say hello. Really bonds to his handler/rider and will do anything for you.

He’s a forward, fun ride. Snaffle mouth so not strong but he’s keen & game so needs a rider to match. Doesn’t buck, rear, nap or bolt. Ridden by all the girls here and they absolutely love him, he’s so fun. A quiet, competent rider used to forward ponies will enjoy him the most and expect to give him time to bond to his new person.

Flatwork - easy off the leg and listens well. Can work in an outline.

Jumping - loves to jump, SJ or XC. We’ve kept him around the 75cm level as he’s comfortable but would have scope for more. Has done various PC & comps in his time.

Hacking - Hacks alone or in company, good in traffic. Has done beach rides and fun rides.

I’ve linked a video to this ad but there’s an even longer one on YouTube too. Lots more pics available on my Facebook page, Stapleford Ponies.

The best home essential for this loved pony.
