First Ponies: Over 13.2hh

SUPER TALENTED FRIENDLY PONY

Riding Pony x Connemara

Ref #: 284928
  • A lovely character and safe for children to handle - great mother daughter share
  • Has expressive movement to excel in pure dressage - would do well as a show pony
  • Fantastic to hack
£9,995 ovno
  • Irish Sports Pony
  • Black
  • Gelding
  • 9 years
  • 14.2 hands (AHC)
  • A lovely character and safe for children to handle - great mother daughter share
  • Has expressive movement to excel in pure dressage - would do well as a show pony
  • Fantastic to hack

Would suit a teenager or small adult for this amazing pony. Stunning movement when asked to move correctly with loads of potential. This is new to him being from show jumping home and then a hacking home. He was used to being ridden without contact at his hacking home but with the schooling we have done his strength is building and he is showing great potential for a dressage pony or show pony. He could potential be reintroduced to competitive show jumping as he is very careful over poles and picks up his legs - we have not jumped him.

Since being with us and at his previous home for two years he is a safe pony he will follow without a lead rein and would suit lead rein. Has been ridden by complete novices. Children love him.

He hacks out alone or with others. Taken teenager for miles hacking around. Good in traffic and with bicycles, farm equipment. Has hunted once in previous home and was mannerly and just followed quietly - did not heat up and could ride away.

We do not show but I have been told he’d make a great show pony and do very well, he has clean legs. He is a dream to handle, bath, will quietly stand all day to be groomed, east for the farrier and dentist, amazing feet. Loves people, let’s dogs, ducks, chickens, wander around him and between his legs. Stood falling asleep by workmen dismantling and building a fence. Anyone can handle him, handled by complete novices, children and non-horsey people.

He lives out, respectful of fencing. Very happy to be stabled / live in. A good doer.

We are not selling pony ready to go out to win instantly as he is still building his strength and fitness. He would be significantly more money if we had time to develop him to his potential.

Recent 5 stage vet certificate June 2022, happy to share this and vet record. Up to date with dentist, vaccinations, chiro / physio no health issues reported - comments on what a lovely pony he is.

Reason for sale unexpected A level grades secured university place.

Jobanker Mystic Mink Sandbourne Royal Ensign
Wingrove Chinchilla
Ballydoolaugh Princess Lim (Pol)
Ballydoolaugh Kate Ardravinna Andy
Golden Cloud
  • Stunning looking pony with eye catching movement that would do well in a show ring. Could continue to be produced for pure dressage
  • Has jumped BSJA 90/100cm although has not jumped for a few years due to home preference

One of the main issues that RDA groups face is finding an Equine to suit the needs of the participants in their group.

We are regularly contacted with offers of Equines that are ‘the ideal RDA horse or pony’ when actually what is ideal for one group may not be for the next. We are trying to move away from the stereotypical view that RDA Equines are elderly and somewhat static, our horses and ponies need to be fit, healthy and athletic to cope with the lifestyle in an RDA group.

They can range from smaller, forward going ponies to weight carrying cobs and can take part in a range of disciplines from Riding to Carriage Driving, Vaulting to Show Jumping and Endurance.

If you contact an RDA Group about your Equine please be prepared to fill in an Equine Initial Interest Form which will ask you many questions about your horses’ temperament, health history, experience and lifestyle. Many groups will prefer to have an equine on trial to make sure they are suitable for the job.

For long term loans and purchases they will also be required to have a Pre-Purchase Examination.

If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below.

  • Cookie is a real fun ride!
£7,250
  • Cob
  • Piebald
  • Gelding
  • 5 years
  • 14.3 hands
  • Cookie is a real fun ride!

Don’t be put off by his age. He’s an old head on young shoulders.

Cookie has 3 lovely paces in the school. He wears his heart on his sleeve and wants to please. Cookie is a real confidence giver!

Hacks alone and in company. His first hack with me was alone straight onto a busy road. He’s not bothered by motorbikes, lorry’s, cars or tractors.

He’s good in open spaces, doesn’t get buzzy or change his speed.

He’s a real sweet boy who thrives off love and attention. He will stand for hours to be groomed or bathed. He loves a cuddle!

Cookie has the potential to be a super pony club pony, happy hack, small hunter or family horse.

He’s been out jumping around a course of 80cm with water trays and fillers with ease.

He has the scope to go further with the right help.

Cookie is amazing to clip and requires no sedative, you could probably get away with not even tying him up.

He’s good to load, shoe and clip.

He really is 1 in a million.

  • Dark bay
  • Mare
  • 10 years
  • 13.3 hands
  • 'Poppy Stardust'

I’m looking for a new home for my dark bay cob, poppy is a 13’3hh who is as wide as she is tall, 10 year old mare, she’s a very easy going pony and has got the sweetest of natures, she’s the type anyone would want on the yard, polite, well mannered and very laid back.

She’s good to catch, good to be turned out, will turn out with mares and geldings and isn’t fussed about being on her own. Very quiet to lead, got good stable manners, good to load and travel, loves fuss and attention and will stand all day to be groomed, bathed, pampered and clipped.

She’s great with dogs! I have dogs that are always at the yard and when I ride they come with.

Very quiet to lead from another horse and with. Poppy has been in a couple of riding school in her life and definitely knows her job. She’s lovely to school and would definitely do very well at dressage, shall happily pop a course of fences, will jump ditches and logs, brilliant to hack, very safe in traffic and open spaces, hacks alone and in company.

Never strong or silly. Loves the beach and will go in the sea. She’s had complete novice’s on her and will always look after her rider. Perfect lead rain, first pony or second pony.

Looking for a 5* for this lovely mare

  • A real saint of a mare
  • Very tricky sort to find as she would be a tiny tots first ridden, or a teenagers dream, happy jackets perfect ride!

A real saint of a mare, beautiful full well bred Connemara (green book) 14.3hh 2005 grey mare, very tricky sort to find as she would be a tiny tots first ridden, or a teenagers dream, happy jackets perfect ride!

Snowy does it all, she's a complete school mistress, she will do a lovely test, or be a lead rein pony, teach beginners to canter with her rocking horse paces.

She has three lovely paces in the school, snaffle mouthed, a non spooky sort who wants to get on and please. Snowy is a complete novice ride and will look after any jockey.

Snowy enjoys hacking, alone or in company, not bothered by busy roads or open spaces, happy first or last. She's brilliant with farm animals and farm vehicles, she's seen most things and isn't bothered by anything.

Jumping wise, Snowy will trot over cross poles for a small rider, or go up the gears and jump round a course of 90/1m for a more competitive rider, a mothers dream! She will jump cross country, she's competed a lot throughout her years and taught many children to ride, would easily work in a riding school too. Such a genuine, kind and loving mare.
