Confident, Bold, Safe, Cracking Allrounder / Happy Hacker

Ideal for nervous inexperienced rider or jockeys who want to ride at a slower pace.

Super Steady and Safe

Winter Rose is a really nice calm considerate girl, she is a stunning model that’s been there and done it all.

Tonnes of experience and unbelievably safe. Ideal for beginner riders, or riders who wants to progress and have some fun, she is super steady, calm and gentle in every way, she has more woah than go …..a bit of a plod, even tho she is super safe, she responds to the leg and has 3 excellent paces, with flare and enthusiasm, she is very sensible and can be forward going if your a more experienced rider, not spooky, sharp or silly in anyway, she is responsive to the leg if you can ride, whilst remaining calm and relaxed, she is extremely willing and will do anything you ask, she has 3 nice balanced super steady paces, she loves to jump a course of small coloured and rustic fences.

Winter Rose participates in our low level showjumping, cross country, In hand & handy pony competitions.

She is a fantastic all-rounder.

This is a really fantastic horse for anyone to build up their confidence, continue learning to ride and progress on.
Definitely a 1st and 2nd horse.

11yrs Schoolmistress

Exceptional mare with tonnes of experience for sale, she has spent several years in a private one to one home where she has done pony club and low level competitions and shows, she is now working in my riding school where she has been ridden by all level riders, from complete beginners who have never sat on a horse before up to advanced riders where she participates in our flat work lessons, privates and groups, with the same enthusiasm now as when he first started her riding school career. She is very genuine and loves to hack out, she doesn’t pull, rush, spook or get nervous of anything, she will hack through the heaviest of very fast moving traffic without batting an eye lid, she is not perturbed by any kind of vehicles or farm machinery.

She will hack out alone or in company through very heavy fast moving traffic without batting an eye lid. She have basically seen every vehicle out there motorbikes, pushbikes,double-decker buses, articulated lorries, farm machinery you name it she’s seen it.
She is 100% safe, steady and collected when ridden in all paces across open fields, regardless of wether she is at the front, middle, back of the ride or on his own, she will not rush, pull, race or try an overtake even on the way home.

She lives out in a mixed herd but is equally happy to be stabled, she keeps herself to herself and never causes any trouble, she has no marish traits, isn’t clingy, she is happy to be stabled and turned out on her own.

Has excellent manners with the farrier and currently barefoot, she is equally happy to be shoed.
She is excellent to catch, load with the farrier, dentist and vet.

Winter Rose is a lovely mare with a kind, genuine temperament. She has been a valued member of our busy riding school, showing patience and reliability with a wide variety of riders. More recently, she has occasionally shown a little grumpiness when being tacked up, which we believe is simply due to the frequent girthing, tacking and untacking throughout a fast-paced day. She prefers a quieter one to one setting.

She would give confidence to any rider/ handler when competing, cross country, showjumping, fun rides and beach rides.

She doesn’t need to be ridden every day she can go without work then be tacked up and ridden without any fuss, she is extremely low maintenance.
He has never been lame had laminitis, sweet itch or sarcoids. No lumps or bumps. No Marish traits.

Passes are annual Licence Inspection which is equivalent to a stage 2 vetting.

Looking for a five star private home to give someone the opportunity to purchase a safe and very sensible horse, with so much to offer.

We have a few horses and ponies available for sale.

This is a truly heartbreaking sale, but as a riding school we regularly refresh our horses to ensure their wellbeing. The routine can be demanding and repetitive, mainly in the arena carrying riders of varying experience levels. We believe our wonderful horses and ponies deserve the chance to enjoy a one-to-one partnership in a private home, where they can thrive and continue to be cherished.

Photos and videos available upon request.
If you are genuinely interested please CALL me, as text messages and email cant always be replied to straight away.

Top Class Allrounder – Kind & Talented 4, rising 5yo Class 1 Connemara Mare

Introducing Sophie, a stunning 4-year-old Class 1 purebred Connemara mare, standing at 14.2hh. Sophie is the definition of a traditional Connemara pony—she has a leg in each corner, a beautiful head, a kind eye, and a calm, generous nature that makes her a pleasure to work with every day.

Sophie has the ideal temperament for a novice rider, a riding school program, a mother-daughter share, or a young rider wanting to do a bit of everything. She is sweet, steady, and exceptionally quiet, both to handle and to ride. Her laid-back attitude and genuine nature make her the kind of pony that gives confidence and always tries her best.

Under saddle, Sophie is nicely schooled with three balanced paces and a lovely rhythm. She works in a soft outline and listens well to her rider. Over fences, she really shines—she has a super jump with a careful, tidy technique that would make her an excellent working hunter or Pony Club allrounder. She is honest and uncomplicated to a fence and is equally bold and sensible out cross-country, where she never looks at a thing.

Sophie’s kind and willing attitude make her an ideal candidate for Pony Club, working hunter, or family use, and she has the temperament to suit a wide variety of riders. Whether you’re looking for a safe and straightforward pony to learn on, or a quality young mare to produce further, Sophie ticks every box.

She comes from excellent traditional Connemara bloodlines, by Tullaree Hawk (a son of the legendary Dexter Leam Pondi), out of a mare by Bobby Joe, with Garryhinch Finn also in her pedigree—names known for producing performance ponies with sound temperaments and quality conformation.

Sophie has no stable vices, passed a recent 5-stage vetting, and is open to re-vetting for serious buyers. Her price includes delivery to your yard anywhere in the UK, and if she’s not the perfect match, we offer an exchange policy for peace of mind.

Take a look at her video to see just how lovely and genuine Sophie is. For more information, feel free to call 00353868077626 or email gertytynan@gmail.com. This kind and talented mare is ready to find her forever home.

DO YOU HAVE A HORSE OR PONY SUITABLE FOR THE RDA?

WANTED ON LONG TERM LOAN / PURCHASE

Ref #: 249896
  • If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below
  • If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below

One of the main issues that RDA groups face is finding an Equine to suit the needs of the participants in their group.

We are regularly contacted with offers of Equines that are ‘the ideal RDA horse or pony’ when actually what is ideal for one group may not be for the next. We are trying to move away from the stereotypical view that RDA Equines are elderly and somewhat static, our horses and ponies need to be fit, healthy and athletic to cope with the lifestyle in an RDA group.

They can range from smaller, forward going ponies to weight carrying cobs and can take part in a range of disciplines from Riding to Carriage Driving, Vaulting to Show Jumping and Endurance.

If you contact an RDA Group about your Equine please be prepared to fill in an Equine Initial Interest Form which will ask you many questions about your horses’ temperament, health history, experience and lifestyle. Many groups will prefer to have an equine on trial to make sure they are suitable for the job.

For long term loans and purchases they will also be required to have a Pre-Purchase Examination.

If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below.

Beauty is a kind, genuine 15 yr old mare.

She has been in the same home for 7 years, and genuinely outgrown. We have had her for the summer to have some fun on and build my god daughters confidence but very sadly she is now looking for her next long term family home.

She is an uncomplicated ride, not a total first pony as she is fairly forward going but she isn’t a buzzy pony, she’s never bucked or reared, she doesn’t get silly, she is just fairly forward off the leg and need constant nagging to go! That said she’s not fast unless you make her go! She is a fairly sporty model so can be competitive if asked!

She is always ridden in a snaffle and has excellent brakes! She has a very soft mouth and her riders do not feel out of control or worried. She has been ridden by novice nervous friends.

She is best suited to a rider who can already trot and canter and now wants to get out to pony club and local shows and have fun. She would happily take you round the NSEA showjumping and help to get a little person confident and out competing.

Last weekend she had a 1st and a 2nd Arena Eventing with a new rider who borrowed her for competition experience. She is super chilled in the warm up and does not need hours of working in. She has a scopey jump and comfortable pops round 75cm and will go bigger with a capable rider - she’s jumped over 1 metre 20 in chase me Charlie!

She has hunted, been on fun rides, beach rides, and various other things. She is good to hack alone and with others.

She lives in or out, despite being a quality type she happily winters out with rug on. No known health issues, is vaccinated and currently shod as we have stony hacking.

Loads and travels in anything! She is just a lovely loving pony to have around.

Needs a loving new home and smaller rider for her next chapter of adventures. She has stacks of personality and loves her humans and we are looking for the very best of homes for her.

She comes with her tack and loads of nice Amigo rugs. Price is negotiable as we would like to see her happy and loved in her new home not standing in a cold boring wintery field without the TLC and attention she really does deserve.

Hants/Wilts border with good trial facilities but happy to take to arena hire etc too

A very safe and sweet natured 1st or 2nd pony

Hetty is a super pony who will suit a variety of homes I think she would make a wonderful mother daughter share, a 1st pony or a 2nd pony. Her greatest strength is how safe she is to hack she regularly takes adults and children out through a busy village and down to the beach as well as on local fun rides and has done plenty of mountain hacking. For all she is heavier cob type she’s not at all lazy making her an easy ride for less experienced riders.

Hetty will pop over a log or small XC jumps out hacking and on fun rides but has not been a competition pony in life so far. I’ve no doubt she would be great for pony club camps and rally days with somebody happy popping around the little stuff.

Open to all viewings and vettings. Hetty has done well this summer and is slightly on te podgey side but we are taking her out regularly to combat this! No school at home so happy to take viewers out hacking or alternatively if how she is in a school is important we can organise to hire one.

She comes with a full wardrobe saddle, bridle, rugs etc and I can help with transport too.

Super cuddly 13yo full up 14hh cob, cheap to keep, easy to groom/ clip/tack up/bath/ catch/ farrier etc. My 9 year old can do everything with him at home.

Works in a nice shape in the arena with a more experience rider.

He is generally quiet and if anything a bit lazy on the flat and hacking (think Labrador pony enjoying to try to get snacks mid hack!) however, unfortunately Uggles had proved a bit too much jumping for my very very nervous 9 year old moving up from her 12.1. He loves jumping and can sometimes get a bit too keen for her.

This is a very sad sale as he is such a lovely boy but they are just not the right match, and he deserves to be out having fun!

Super bold jump, jumps all scary fillers, previously done BS80, lots of unaffiliated 60/70 with previous home, double clear in all of his classes last year at Trailblazers with previous owners who are still in contact with us.

Well behaved out and about at local and unaffiliated shows, pony club rally’s etc with us and previous owners, stands on the trailer with hay net quietly

Lovely to hack in company, (or with person on foot) he is ok on his own but takes confidence from his rider in new situations. He was foot perfect on the beach on his own with us.

Well hunted with previous owner, in a gag but very polite

Best suited to a confident child/ teenager/ small adult wanting a great allrounder/ riding club pony. Has plenty of scope for an adult to have fun on!

Takes up the leg well so ideal mother/daughter share.

Lives out happily or in and out.

Prefers a box, but loads fine in a trailer in a bit with a treat! Does load in a chifney or bit and likewise if you have to turnout long distance or with lots of lush grass a chifney is easier to stop him diving for grass

Passed 5 stage vetting earlier this summer
Can come with some tack, saddle at separate agreement
Home most important

true, super safe, genuine, well schooled, allround pony.
