If only children didn’t grow! 💔

It is with incredibly heavy hearts that we offer our much-loved boy for sale. We bought him directly from his breeder two years ago as a late backed green 6-year-old with the aim of producing him, and he has absolutely blossomed into a talented, fun and genuine all-round pony.

He would ideally suit a small adult or experienced, competent teenager with a knowledgeable family looking for a quality dressage or all-round pony club pony or a even just a safe hack he’s happy on his own or in company loves going exploring will go first or last.

My daughter has invested a huge amount of time into his schooling, and this is where he really shines. Dressage is undoubtedly his strongest phase, and he genuinely enjoys his work.

Together they have competed for our Pony Club in:

* Dressage

* Show Jumping

* Cross Country

Last year they qualified for and were placed at both pc dressage Regional and pc dressage National Championships prelim / pc 70 & pc 80 , we just came back from Bicton Regional Championships 2026 were they came back with 2 winning sashes in PC70 and PC80 they made the podium!!

Never strong or fizzy Snaffle mouthed for all disciplines ,He could definitely go on to doing novice level with a rider that wants to take him to his full potential he can do counter canter , shoulder in , leg yielding he’s got so much to give and will definitely get to novice elementary with a rider that enjoys teaching him more and more for 2years of riden work he’s showing hes got so much more to give.

He enjoys show jumping and is an honest, careful pony who always tries his best, he’ll give you a lovely, reliable round 70/80cm , has done 90-100cm on single jumps so again this is something he could possibly move up to the more experienced he gets.

Cross country is something we haven’t focused on as much as other disciplines with the last 2 summers having such hard ground.

We have tried a few events this is definitely not his strongest point with someone that’s prepared to put time in to this area he may grow in this discipline .

He is currently barefoot with excellent feet and has always coped well.

To Handle

He is:

* Brilliant to hack alone or in company.

* Barefoot with excellent feet and good for the farrier.

* Fantastic to load and travels like a dream, He’ll happily load and unload at shows for shade or shelter from the rain.

* Good to bath.

* Up to date with vaccinations.

* Teeth done every six months (last completed in July).

* Good to catch.

* regular sports massages

He lives happily in a herd and can also go out individually provided he can see other horses in neighbouring fields. Like many horses, he prefers not to be the last one left in the field.

He has attended stay-away shows and two Pony Club residential camps, where he behaved impeccably.

Finding the right home is far more important than a quick sale, so we’d rather be completely honest.

He can be a nibbler, particularly if he’s feeling anxious or unsure, or when fastening chest straps. This has improved hugely over the last two years, but because of this he is not suitable for young children or inexperienced handlers.

He can be lazy he needs a confident rider to get the best out of him when schooling someone that isn’t afraid to give him a flick with the whip or use their leg how ever for confident rider who will ride him foward like my daughter and her instructor and not just sit there with a strong leg a confident, capable rider he is an absolute pleasure and gives you everything.

My daughter rides with spurs she often will put spurs on if he’s feeling lazy and gets much more from him how ever he is much more foward for her dressage instructor who rides him once a week and has done for the last 2years.

Home Is most important This boy means the absolute world to us, so finding him the right home is our priority. We want someone who will love and appreciate him as much as we have and continue bringing out the best in him , I don’t want him passed around so would like a home that wants a horse the can grow a bond with and enjoy him doing what he loves whether that’s a hacking home or competitive home love is more important to us.

Freckles “Vlekje” is a prolific pony with an excellent CV across Europe starting off many children and helping turn them into excellent riders.

He has been there and done it all, and won everything he possibly can along the way. Countless wins across the UK and Europe showjumping, a great starter pony for jumping . All pony club activities to get a child going and give them confidence.

He also does all PC activities, has shown in hand and ridden, he is super XC and in open spaces and good to hack.

A true child’s best friend , brilliant transition pony to teach a child correctly and win rosettes along the way.

He can very occasionally have a cheeky weave in the stable .

Heartbreaking sale of our daughter’s Once in a Lifetime Pony due to him being hopelessly outgrown.

Don is a 9 year old outstanding 14.1cm Class 1 Connemara Gelding, who we have owned since he was 6 years old.

He has taken our daughter from jumping 60cm to competitively up to 85/90cm, and a huge amount of ribbons SJ, Arena Eventing and Eventing, always in the top placings including 2nd Eventing Regional Champs at Kelsall and placed at Trailblazers national finals. He excels in all competitions and he has competed with lots of success in Pony Club Area teams, the Cotswold Cup, Hunter Trials, ODE’s and show jumping competitions and attended many Pony Club rallies and Riding camps.

Don is genuine and honest to all jumps - show jumping and xc, not phased by any filler or solid fence and will jump off any stride, giving his rider ultimate confidence; in the time we have had him he has never stopped at a fence and gives his rider a great feel.

Don was originally sold to his first viewing during the summer holidays, and, at the buyers request his hocks were medicated with the new preventative SMG medication on our insurance. They have subsequently been unable to proceed due to their own circumstances. He has never taken a lame or uneven step during the 2.5 years we have owned him, and he is fit and sound ready for his new rider.

Therefore, although he is worth very significantly more, his price reflects this, and the fact that our daughter is now too big to ride him at all. We hope to find him a new rider for the Autumn/winter and see Don give her or him all the confidence, experience and success that he has given our daughter. We are open to negotiation to see him settled in a perfect home.

Don is a responsive ride who absolutely loves his job and gives 100% to everything asked of him. He loves XC, covering the ground and tackling any obstacle put in front of him, he always makes the time and gives a bold and confident ride. He produces a good dressage test. We feel his sweet spot would be to take his rider to BE80&90 where he is super confident and competitive.

However similarly he would happily take things steadier at Pony Club, camps, fun rides and unaffiliated events. Don is happy when he is out and about, but he doesn't mind if he is hacking, going on fun rides, jumping 60cm or tackling beefy XC fences - he gives the same effort and enjoyment!

Don absolutely loves hacking and seeing new routes and will happily hack for hours alone or in company, he is a forward going hack great in all traffic and farm machinery. They also tried hunting last winter and he was mannerly, safe with the hounds and happy to stand politely with the field and go in front or behind.

Although he is very genuine and honest, and does step down to his rider’s abilities, he is not a complete novice ride, but perfect for somebody coming off a smaller pony, or a small adult. He rides bitless and tackless, he enjoys liberty work as he loves to build a close bond with his rider with his gentle character.

He is great to load (on trailers and lorries) and will stand in the lorry quietly on show day. He turns out in a herd, mixed or split, does not get herd bound, and is content left alone in the field while others are ridden out. We do use an oral sedative to clip him but he is great to shoe (front and back).

Don is up to date with vaccinations, worming and teeth and open to full vetting etc. He is fit and ready to go and we would love to see him enjoying the autumn/winter season with his new rider.

Home is an absolute priority for us. Don’s ideal new home would be to give confidence and success to a rider coming off a smaller pony, or a small adult looking for a mount to give them the enjoyment, experience and reassurance of knowing they are riding a pony who you can always rely on.

We are looking for the perfect loving home who will give him a varied life and enjoy building a relationship with him, keep in touch with us and previous owners (he has a fan club!) and share his future successes.

RIO

12hh chestnut Gelding, 11 years old.

An absolute saint and a mother’s dream pony, Rio is the ultimate confidence-giver and has looked after our daughters every step of the way.

He is equally happy taking the smallest of children who are just learning to canter, through to a child wanting to jump courses around 80cm. He has plenty of jump, but is never silly or spooky at a fence and always gives his rider confidence. Rio will happily canter when asked, but is also more than happy to trot around a course for a nervous or less experienced rider and also take them around their first course in a steady canter.

He would be a great BS starter pony too.

Rio has a green passport so can do native classes but would equally make a lovely plaited show pony and would be a real contender in the London International Nursery stakes, first ridden and junior performance pony class qualifiers.

He is an absolute dream to hack and is sensible and trustworthy. He is also happy for you to ride and lead from him or vice versa.

Rio has done everything we could have asked of him. He has taken our daughters from learning to canter and jump, through to jumping bigger courses and competing successfully. They have now progressed onto JA jumping ponies, so it is time for Rio to find his next little rider to love and enjoy him.

Our trainer cannot speak highly enough of him, and Rio has given our daughters an incredible amount of confidence. He has qualified for the NSEA Regionals, Cricklands, and the Sunshine Tour at Hickstead.

He truly is a one-in-a-million pony and has kept our daughters safe throughout their time with him. He has never bucked, reared or napped and has always been incredibly genuine and trustworthy.

Rio is an easy keeper and does not need to be ridden every day. He is a real child’s best friend and loves nothing more than being groomed, fussed and pampered. He is good to catch, shoe and load and is up to date with worming and teeth.

Rio has been a very special part of our family and will be hugely missed. We are looking for the right home where he can continue to give another child the confidence, fun and memories he has given our daughters.
