A heartbreaking sale of a much loved pony who I have owned for 5 years. Full up 14.2hh, 11 year old mare. No recorded breeding but i believe she is Welsh or native cross.

In this time Miss Blue (known as Dixie) has made so many of my dreams come true. We have evented at BE90, always coming home smiling, she makes the cross country feel so easy (this mare will take you round clear every time). We have Showjumped to 100cm unaffiliated, but mostly at 90cm. Done all pony club activities, regional pony club dressage to novice level, arena eventing, been on all the teams for a variety of disciplines. I have also hunted Dixie and she has give some of my best days hedge hopping with the farmers bloodhounds, she will jump anything she is pointed at. Rails, walls, gates, hedges…. You name it, she will do it whilst also keeping you safe.

She has a BE record at 90cm, we complete both affiliated and unaffiliated (pony club eventing) this season she only had one run BE and that alone was good enough to qualify her for the regional badminton grassroots qualifier. I decided to run her at the pony club national championships instead, where she placed 8th. She cross country schools over BE advanced jumps!

She knows lateral work in the school, she did walk to caters, forward off the leg without being too hot/ sharp or buzzy. She will look after a younger rider and takes a miss when showjumping. She is not one to stop or run out at jumps. She enjoys her job.

The most important thing about this pony has been how safe and easy she is. I take her out on my own and know I can relax and enjoy my day, she will stand on the trailer for as long as needed, and then stand tied up as chilled as anything to be groomed and tacked up. Doesn’t buck, bronc, rear, bolt or anything else. No stable vices.

It has taken me a long time to advertise this pony, and not a decision I’ve taken lightly, but as this year is my last year in pony club and she’s given me the most amazing season I feel now is the time to let her go and make someone else as happy as she’s made me. An active pony club or eventing home is sought. Ponies like this don’t come on the market often.

A lovely, fun and experienced pony with plenty to offer her next jockey.

A fantastic hunting pony. She will happily stand at the meet and is great with hounds. She has a lovely jump and will cross any country. Has attended Pony Club camp, rallies, has showjumping experience as well as enjoying fun rides and beach rides.

Hacks happily alone and in company and is generally good in traffic, although can occasionally be a little hesitant around larger machinery.

A real pleasure to have around the yard and easy to do. Good to catch, groom, tack up, load and travel, as well as being good for the farrier and dentist.

Bramble is beautifully put together and has been there, done that, in every sense. A calm, considerate and willing gelding, he is the definition of safe and steady. Ideal for Beginners, RDA, All-Round Riders

Bramble has worked extensively in a professional riding school environment for the past 2 years, and he has excelled with every level of rider, from total novices to advanced. He is also a firm favourite for RDA (Riding for the Disabled Association) and special requirements sessions, both under saddle and during stable management and therapy activities.

He has experience in flatwork lessons, both private and group, as well as participating in our in-house showjumping and cross-country competitions. He is confident over coloured and rustic fences and always takes care of his riders, trotting or cantering in steadily to each jump and helping the rider out If they come in on a bad stride.

He would easily compete in low level showjumping, cross-country, working hunter, one-day events and hunting. Bramble competed in low level competitions, pole clinics, pony club and fun rides prior to coming to the riding school.

He absolutely loves to hack out and does so safely and calmly. He will happily hack alone or in company and has been exposed to the heaviest, fastest-moving traffic imaginable. He is completely unfazed by buses, lorries, farm machinery and all types of vehicles. He remains safe and steady in all environments and does not rush or pull, even in open spaces or on the way home. You can gallop him across open fields with loose horses running alongside him, then immediately pull him up and allow him to walk on a long rein or ask him to stand while horses run around him. He is most definitely not sharp, spooky or spinny.

He has been truly exceptional during his time at the riding school. He is unbelievably forgiving when riders lose their balance, lose their stirrups or have a bad stride into a fence. He always takes care of his riders. He will walk, trot, canter from voice commands without using the reins in both upward and downward transitions.

His substantial build, with a leg in each corner, combined with his calm disposition, sure-footedness and gentle nature, gives even the most nervous riders the confidence to progress and excel. He will stand patiently at the mounting block for as long as needed without moving an inch. I can honestly say he has absolutely no quirks or negative traits.

Although he is happy to go at a quiet, steady pace, he is also responsive to the leg and has three beautiful, balanced, steady paces. For more experienced riders, he will work into a nice outline with enthusiasm and energy while always staying calm and sensible. He has NEVER bolted, bucked, reared, kicked or bitten. He is the most loving, kind gelding you could ever wish to meet. Snaffle mouthed with absolutely no gadgets.

Manners, Temperament, Handling

Bramble has outstanding ground manners. He stands for hours to be groomed and fussed over, with or without a head collar or lead rope. He is not clingy and is happy living in or out. In the field, he keeps himself to himself and never causes trouble, whether stabled alone or turned out in a mixed herd. He absolutely loves a cuddle and adores people, he will follow you around the yard and fields with no head colour and lead rope wanting a cuddle.

Bramble has a history of excellent health and has never had laminitis, sweet itch, sarcoids, or any lumps, bumps or unsoundness, and has only had two owners.

He is currently barefoot with strong, healthy hooves and is equally happy to be shod. He is excellent to bath and catch, great to load and travel, and fantastic with the farrier, vet and dentist.

He is incredibly low maintenance, requiring no daily work. He can have weeks or even months off and return to ridden work without any fuss. He maintains his condition year-round on a simple diet and is easy to manage in every way.

He passes our riding school annual Licence Inspection, which is the equivalent of a Stage 2 vetting, passed with flying colours on the 26.06.26.

Smartie – The Ultimate First Pony

Smartie is the quietest, kindest and most sensible little pony you could ever wish to meet. She is exceptionally safe, both under saddle and on the ground, making her the perfect first pony both on and off the lead rein.

She will happily walk, trot and canter beautifully on the lead rein for children taking their very first steps into riding. Off the lead rein, she is equally happy carrying riders who are holding the saddle handle while building confidence, as well as those riding independently. She truly has a young body with an old head on her shoulders. She is never spooky, sharp, strong or silly and always takes wonderful care of her riders.

Over the past 2.5 years Smartie has worked in a professional riding school where she has safely taught hundreds of children, from tiny tots aged just two years old through to more established young riders. She has patiently introduced countless children to walk, trot, canter and their very first jumps.

She has three beautifully balanced, steady paces and responds exceptionally well to the voice, allowing beginners who are still holding the saddle handle to be guided confidently without needing rein contact.

Smartie has never bolted, reared, bucked. She is not strong, pulley or forward going, she goes wherever you ask calmly and sensibly, she has more whoa than go, making her a lovely, reassuring ride for someone just starting out or building their confidence. However, when ridden by a more experienced jockey, she will happily step up a gear and become more responsive and forward when asked.

She is an incredibly genuine, sensible mare who adapts beautifully to the ability and confidence of her rider.

She truly is every child’s dream pony, with the most adorable little face that you simply can’t help but fall in love with.

She waits patiently in group lessons for her turn, is equally well behaved in private lessons, and has taken part in our in-house competitions including Lead Rein classes, Handy Pony, Fancy Dress and Pony Club rallies.

Smartie will happily be lead around the yard by the tiniest of tots without pulling or being strong, allowing even the youngest children to confidently catch her from the field, groom her, pick out her feet, and care for her safely. she stands quietly to be groomed, bathed and fussed over, she will happily stand in her stable with the door open and not try and come out, will equally stand at a mounting block without move for as long needed, she is super chilled, quiet and easy to handle.

She is a firm favourite during our stable management courses and therapy sessions.

Smartie is exceptional out hacking. She is completely unfazed by heavy, fast-moving traffic and has seen everything from articulated lorries, double-decker buses, tractors and trailers to motorbikes, bicycles, prams, trolleys and dogs — absolutely nothing fazes her.

She hacks confidently both alone and in company, happily leading or following. She is never strong, nappy or silly and is perfectly content to stay at the back of the ride without trying to overtake, race or be silly in any way, she maintains in her pace and place even in a large group hack.

In open spaces she remains calm, relaxed and sensible. If the other horses canter away, Smartie is more than happy to stay behind with her rider, and she will patiently wait if the others return home ahead of her.

Smartie enjoys jumping and will happily pop a small course of coloured or rustic fences, both on and off the lead rein, always giving her rider confidence.

She is excellent to catch, load, travel, shoe / feet paired, and stands perfectly for the dentist, farrier and vet. She loads first time, every time, travels impeccably and is an absolute pleasure to take out and about. Smartie is currently barefoot as she has very strong healthy hooves, she is equally happy to be shoed.

Smartie has recently passed our annual Riding School Licence inspection, carried out by a veterinary surgeon, which is comparable to a Stage 2 vetting.

During the entire time we have owned her, she has never been sick, lame, suffered from colic or required any time off through injury or illness. She is fit, healthy and in excellent condition, with no sarcoids, sweet itch, laminitis, lumps or bumps. Smartie is a substantial build with most definitely I leg in each corner, she has never suffered from laminitis.

She is wonderfully low maintenance and doesn’t need riding every day. She can happily have four weeks off and return to work exactly as she left it, without any fuss or freshness.

She currently works four days a week in our riding school and thoroughly enjoys her job.

Smartie has a very simple routine and is incredibly easy to keep. She has a basic diet of haylage when stabled and grass when turned out. She currently lives in a mixed herd of 25 horses, is stabled during the day when working and turned out overnight.

Equally, she would be perfectly happy living out full-time or being stabled full-time. She is not clingy and is equally content living or turning out on her own if required.

Smartie is only available because we regularly rotate our riding school horses after around 18 months - two years. A very sad sale of our much-loved Penmoor Black Gem, affectionately known as Evie, due solely to her jockey wanting a change in direction.

Beautifully marked, with lovely conformation and bags of presence, Evie is the sort of pony who catches everyone’s eye. However, it is her kind temperament and genuine attitude that make her so special.

At 143cm and 6 years old, Evie is a lovely, genuine pony who is always willing to please. She works in a natural outline, is snaffle-mouthed at all times and thoroughly enjoys her jumping. She has been ridden solely by a 14-year-old for the past two years.

Evie has all the attributes to make a lovely showing pony and would be an exciting prospect for the HOYS Coloured classes, including the junior classes. She has mainly been shown at local level so far, leaving plenty of scope for someone to enjoy producing her further.

Deenie (Houdini) is a beautiful mare who is a pleasure in all ways. Shes had an easier life than most, spent hacking , fun rides and lead rein teaching younger siblings to ride.

She’s fantastic on the roads , used to farm machinery and not been spooky at all with us! I would say she’s super safe! Although she is super Scopey and enjoys jumping, this is something she hasn’t done much of! She’s Just started that career with us, so please don’t message if you’re wanting the perfect jumping pony!

Schooling she is as chilled as you could want and would take a baby around. I really think she would be fantastic at hunting or cross country. She really is a pony who you can do everything with. So easy to handle, lives on air, bare foot and happily lives out, she’s up to date with everything!

Due to my health its time to let my beautiful boy find someone who can continue his education and help him reach his full potential.

I've had Jackson since he was a yearling, so this is a genuinely heartbreaking decision.

Jackson is a kind, affectionate 6-year-old gelding standing at approximately 14.3hh and still growing. He has the sweetest nature, always comes running over to greet you, and absolutely loves attention and cuddles.

He has been professionally backed and has been given plenty of time to mature. He is good to shoe, clip, load, bath, and for the dentist. He hacks out happily both alone and in company.

He has recently started jumping and absolutely loves it, showing plenty of enthusiasm and potential.

Finding him the right, knowledgeable home is my absolute priority. He has so much potential in the right hands and deserves someone who will enjoy bringing him on.

Great project who will jump anything she is pointed at. She would be a fabulous competition pony given the time. Recently she has been put out in the field due to other commitments, moving and now having no arena therefore sold from field.
