Quiet all rounder, happy hacker, family friend or if produced on correctly will make a super competition pony.
We sold Murphy a couple of months ago but sadly he has been returned as has proved to be a little too headstrong on the ground for his novice child owner, we havent had a problem with him since his return but feel he needs to go to a more experienced home where he will be managed and not left solely to a child to handle, he is a pony that likes his routine and appreciates his stable, he does not suit just being left in the field and dragged in to ride.
Murphy is a smart pony who has recently been imported from Ireland where we are told he has spent some time in a trekking centre. He is a steady ride but can still have enough go when asked , he’s not sharp or silly and just is still a little green in the school, with a bit of further work he will compete successfully at PC level or go on and jump junior BS.
Murphy is a good mover and a quick learner, as he has been mainly ridden by novice riders he now needs a bit of further education if he going to go and do a proper job but he’s kind and established enough that he could continue giving a more novice rider a lot of fun out hacking and doing low level RC events, hunting etc.
Murphy has a very good, careful jump and if produced correctly will do very well in the ring. He hates to touch a pole and is very scopey.
He loves his hacking and will hack alone and in company and we have been using him as a good escort horse as he’s very sensible, excellent in traffic and snaffle mouthed. Good to handle, box, catch, shoe , clip etc.
He has no vices. If we weren’t about to go in to lockdown we would have him out and about but sadly that’s not possible for the next few weeks.
He will be a lot of fun for most riders but if produced correctly could be a bit special!
