I am a mid 20s rider looking to take the plunge into horse ownership after years of sharing at the same yard.

The requirements include:

- Cob, Connemara or similar breeds between 14.3-16hh (rider is 5ft8)

- Age between 5-12 years

- Gelding preferred

- A safe, fun and sensible allrounder looking for a varied life, including happy hacking, lessons, fun rides, camps and clinics!

- Must be sane and sensible out hacking and be used to a variety of things, including cyclists, various machinery and manage motorway bridges and train bridges with encouragement.

- Horse will be highly pampered, enjoying lots of grooming sessions and cuddles! Must be a people person and like spending lots of time with owner, as will be on assisted DIY.

- Enjoy schooling as owner would like to learn and grow with the horse, exploring a more classical dressage style of training.

- Possibility of dressage shows, small clear rounds in the future. Bonus points if will jump the odd log now and again!

- Be happy in a bigger herd of horses. Will receive daily turnout, including possibility of 24/7 turnout in the summer. Stabled overnight in winter.

Kerys came to A.E Equestrian last year to be lightly backed and then turned away to mature. She didn't take many weeks to get hacking out well.

About weeks ago when Keyrs came back we had a very honest discussion with her owner that whilst Keyrs was progressing well with being restarted she is a very young, green active horse who will take a good year to really settle to ridden life as she would like her, therefore she part exchanged her for another horse, more suitable to her lifestyle and riding confidence.

We think she is fab, she has all the bravado of a Welsh, is a powerful, active and attractive model and is proving trainable.

We believe she will be a fabulous all-rounder in time and excel in all RC areas, maybe working hunter will be her bag!

She needs a competent, knowledgeable home who understand the breed, and can competently educate just backed horses.

She is hacking well and has had a walk, trot and canter in the arena. She has popped a couple of small fences willingly. At the beginning of backing she did a couple of rears but rode on through this, she is a young horse with a big heart and even bigger personality so needs arson to match this.

Bella is an incredibly fun, genuine pony who would be an absolute dream for a confident child or teenager wanting to hunt, hack, go to camps, have fun and enjoy cross-country.

We have owned Bella for five years and she has given us so many happy memories. She absolutely loves being out and about — she will happily gallop across the countryside, jump natural fences and is at her happiest having a job to do. Cross-country is very much her thing and she is bold, enthusiastic and great fun.

One of Bella’s greatest qualities is the confidence she gives her rider over fences. I am disabled and can be a nervous jumper, but Bella makes me feel incredibly safe and confident. At camp I can start off feeling nervous and, by the final day, Bella will have me happily jumping huge fences that I would never normally have the confidence to attempt. She is the sort of pony who genuinely makes you feel braver.

During the time we have owned her she has attended 10+ camps, including Somerford, Eland Lodge and Pony Club camps, as well as doing plenty of hacking, jumping and varied riding.

Bella is not being sold as a serious competition pony. She can find the atmosphere at busy events overwhelming and would be much happier in a home where the emphasis is on hunting, hacking, fun rides, camps, XC schooling and generally enjoying life, rather than chasing rosettes.

Bryn has been with me since he was a yearling and is a much-loved member of the family, so this is exceptionally difficult.

Unfortunately, increasing work commitments force this, I am looking for the perfect long-term home for him.

He has top quality breeding and is a genuine all-rounder who has enjoyed hacking, showing, showjumping. He has always performed well in the show ring and was consistently placed in the ribbons. He is exceptionally handsome.

Bryn is a forward-thinking horse with big, expressive paces, so he would not suit a nervous or novice rider. In the right hands, he is enormous fun and enjoys having a job to do.

Out hacking, he much prefers company, hacking alone- he requires reassurance from his rider. We have a busy building merchants in the village, so he is used to large vehicles, machinery, and even the steam train that runs through the village. He will happily plod along or pick up the pace if asked.

He has recently come back from loan (family) who has recently qualified as a vet and sadly no longer has the time. During his time with her, Bryn has attended his first showjumping outings which he seemed to love. He hacked on the moors regularly and doesn’t hot up or get silly in open spaces.

He travels brilliantly in a trailer and will load perfectly. However, he is not keen on my 3.5-tonne horsebox.

In the stable, Bryn is incredibly affectionate and thrives on human attention and fuss.

He is good to clip with patience, shoe, up to date with vacs. Clicker trained which he absolutely loves.

Candy is a beautiful, eye-catching palomino mare with lots of presence and plenty to offer the right home. She is a talented, versatile pony who enjoys having a job to do and has gained a lovely variety of experience during her time with us.

In the 18 months we have owned Candy, she has done Pony Club activities, Pony Club camp, fun rides, lots of hacking, flatwork lessons and general family pony life. She has always been much admired and has proven herself to be a fun, capable pony with the right rider.

Candy works nicely on the flat and has had regular schooling sessions. She has three correct paces, works in an outline, and continues to improve with consistent work. She is currently suited to Pony Club, riding club, hacking, fun rides, clinics and low-level competitions, with the potential to progress further with the right rider and consistent training.

One of Candy’s biggest strengths is her hacking. She absolutely loves to hack and is excellent in traffic. She is sensible in open spaces and is happy to go alone or in company, first or last.

She is good to load, good with the farrier, enjoys a bath and a groom, and has never been sick or sorry with us. She is up to date with farrier, vaccinations and dentist, and can live in or out. She has lived happily with both mares and geldings.

Candy has previously jumped and was bought by us as a pony with jumping potential. Unfortunately, after a genuine freak fall with our daughter, who was only 9 at the time, both rider and pony lost confidence for a while. This was not due to Candy doing anything dangerous, but simply a confidence knock in a young rider/pony partnership.

Candy is now back in Wales with her previous owner/producer, who knows her well and is helping to continue her education. Since returning, she has settled really well, her attitude has been good, and she is now rebuilding her confidence and showing good improvement in her jumping work.

Candy would suit a confident, competent rider, small adult, teenager, or mother/daughter share where the rider is experienced enough to continue her education and enjoy her. She is not suitable for a complete novice or a very nervous rider, but in the right home she has so much to give.

This is a very genuine and reluctant sale. Candy was with us in Yorkshire as my daughter’s pony, but she has sadly proven to be too much pony for a young child who lost confidence. She is now for sale from a familiar, experienced home in the SA44 area of Wales, where viewings will take place.

Dylan is approximately 14.1hh, 9 years old, a well-bred Section D gelding

He truly has the most wonderful temperament — a cheeky, affectionate character who absolutely loves attention. Everyone who meets him falls in love with him. He’s full of personality and really enjoys having his own person.

Dylan schools nicely, is very flashy, and has a careful, scopey jump. He’s incredibly genuine with fences and isn’t spooky at all — he’ll happily jump whatever is put in front of him. In the right hands, he would make a fantastic working hunter prospect.

He hacks alone and in company, although he is still green hacking solo and would benefit from someone continuing to build his confidence in this area.

Dylan is low mileage for his age. He has attended a couple of clear round events and arena hires and has behaved brilliantly — he now simply needs to get out and see more of the world. I genuinely believe he could excel with someone who has the time to produce him further.

He is not suitable for a novice rider. While he has no nasty behaviour, he is a typical sensitive Section D who needs a confident, capable rider. When I first bought him, he was very nervous around people. He has come on massively and now loves fuss and attention, although he can still be wary of sudden movements at times.

Dylan does have a couple of minor cosmetic blemishes — capped hocks (hardly noticeable) and a small fluid lump on his knee, both of which have been checked by the vet and are purely cosmetic. He also briefly used to windsuck after feeds, but since placing a brush on his stable door he no longer does this.

Teeth upto date, he has never been shod as he has great hooves, ive never felt the need. Fine with farrier and to clip.

These points are already reflected in his price.

This is a heartbreaking sale, so finding the right home is far more important than anything else. Dylan deserves someone who will give him the time, consistency, and attention he thrives on. Only selling as i dont have the time to do him justice.

I have owned Saffron since a yearling, an unexpected purchase from an auction. I have grown up with Saffron and we have had a lot of fun together.

Saffron is a typical Welsh D so isn’t suitable for a novice rider. Perfect for a mother/teen daughter share. She is never nasty but due to being sensitive requires a confident and capable rider. Recently ridden by a confident 14year old.

Saffron offers a very fun, responsive and rhythmical ride, her trot in particular is very flashy and covers a lot of ground.

A very pretty chestnut mare with a lovely flaxen mane and tail. She was a brood mare until aged 9.

Fleur is still green so needs experienced rider to give her confidence but is willing to learn new things. She was placed in her very first Arena TREC competition last November, loved the obstacles and obviously enjoyed the whole event.

She is good to catch, shoe (although happy to go barefoot), lives in or out and is good to load and travel.

A very nice ‘person’ looking for someone to love and care for her.
