Super smart ID x Connemara bay roan gelding, to make 16 hands.

Wolfie was lightly backed at the end of last year, turned away for winter and restarted in April 2025. In this time he has proved to be willing and confident in all aspects of his work.
He hacks alone and in company and has been fantastic with all traffic he has met (tractors/ artic lorry/ motorbikes/ school buses/ milk tankers etc).
He enjoys jumping, has been to two arena hires and xc schooling, where he behaved and as yet hasn’t found any filler/ water tray/ obstacle a problem, jumping everything first time without a lead. His basic flatwork and paces are smart for a horse that’s been under saddle for 3.5 months with a LOT more to come with a bit of time and strength.
All this makes him a very exciting horse for someone to build a partnership with and have some fun.

Wolfie is good with the farrier (currently barefoot with sturdy feet!), load, travel, catch etc. He wasn’t clipped last year but I’ve run the clippers over him before trimming his feathers and he was fine.

Genuine reason for sale - his owner is about to undergo two fairly major operations and needs a lengthy amount of time to recuperate.

Sad sale of a good friend due to change in personal circumstances and work commitments, no fault of his own.

Previously a Hunt Masters horse, hunting extensively and successfully in Ireland, which he loved. Since coming to live with us 2 1/2 years ago, he has been professionally reschooled with the help of our UKCC level 2 accredited Coach who has worked with us from the start. He would now be suitable for other disciplines as well as hunting or equally would suit someone just looking for the quiet life like us.

Max is eager to please his rider, forward going, listens well to aids as well as voice and is a quick learner. He can be tense/sensitive at times, however he doesn't do anything naughty. He's just a worrier and therefore needs an experienced and sympathetic rider.

He has beautiful paces, is a bold jumper and hacks out alone or in company. Very well behaved and not easily spooked by loud noises or unfamiliar objects ( only wary of HGVs on road).

Max is a gentleman on the ground, loved by all, good for farrier, vet, dentist etc, loads easily and travels well. He is not a big fan of the clippers but will stand, just needs lots of reassurance. Lives out or in but prefers out as much as possible. Occasionally harder to catch but easily persuaded with patience.

Up to date with vaccinations, worming, dentist, farrier etc (currently without shoes but all 4 worn in the past).

Previously passed 5 * vetting on purchase Jan 2023, no health issues and open to all vetting.
Trial facilities include indoor/outdoor school with jumps. Other facilities can be arranged on request.

Jumped show jumps and a line of tyres under saddle and felt very impressive.

A really exciting little horse for someone to produce on. Hacks out alone and in company.

Canters round the fields nicely. Has clean vetting from a few months ago.

Loving home offered with a varied and fun life for the horse with lots of hacking onto sandy tracks, pub rides, groundwork and weekly lessons. I enjoy schooling so something with established basics would be great for low level dressage and training clinics. I am an equine massage therapist in my spare time so lots of care will be provided! I have some great instructors to help both ridden work and groundwork.

Lovely airy stable waiting with a window and all year turnout plus 24/7 turnout in the summer. Very happy to keep in touch with regular updates. We have had our retired pony (now 32) for over 20 years now and still keep in touch with his previous owner.
