Bertie Basset

7year old bay gelding ride and drive.

12hh approx

Up to date with worming, farrier and dentist.

Driving

Bertie is fantastic driving pony, will drive out on his own or in company.
Has attended many drives proving to be sensible at all times.
Has been driven in a small 4 wheeler and also 2wheeler.
Been driven by all the family for children to adult some who are novices.
Never been or offered to be sharp or silly.
Would make lovely little cob for someone who does showing as would make lovely little trolly cob.

Riding

Bertie is great on the lead rein, is willing and showing that he really enjoys this type of work.
Has been ridden by a range of ages 3,5,7 year old children.
Within time and work I would say Bertie would make a fantastic cob pony to produce to show.
His movement is straight and correct.

He hasn't been spoilt and sickened to showing or schooling - I believe he is a contender for TOYS and would go far with the correct family.

Was taken to local show other week in hand just for experience, was calm and stood at the lorry with no issues.

Was placed with some very encouraging comments.

No vices, loads and travels like a dream.

Easy to do on the ground again handled by children.

Connor is a fun horse who could do any job, he has a great jump and he's smart on the flat. He has understanding of basic lateral work - shoulder in, leg yield etc.

He is currently learning to do changes which he is picking up on. His jumping is always improving, he has a good technique and wants to be careful. Has been cross country and has jumped fences, ditches, steps and been in water. He is still relatively inexperienced for his age therefore no novices. He has however, been competed successfully by a 14 year boy. He's never strong to ride, he stays in a lovely rhythm and is a pleasure to ride.

He can be slight cheeky to handle on the ground but is fine with correct management - happy to discuss this more to anyone who's interested.

Does crib in the stable (doesn’t do it in the field with electric fencing) and this is reflected in his price and he is a really smart horse who should be going for more.

He is currently showjumping at 90-1m and has competed at:

PC area showjumping 2024 at 90,

He has evented at Oasby 90cm and Epworth at 80cm.

He has been at a hound exercise was perfect with the hounds, other horses and jumps.

He currently hacks out in company, lives out during the day and comes in at night.

An absolute pleasure on the ground with no vices. He is great to shoe, clip, inject and load.

He would suit an experienced rider to carry on his development.

He is a very smart looking horse with loads of potential.

Fairywood Charmer

Fabulous 13hh 5-year-old Registered Welsh Section B chestnut gelding. Sire: Waxwing Glimmer

A forward-thinking, responsive ride. Great to hack alone or in company and always tries his best to please his rider.

Loves jumping and is already showing plenty of scope for the future. He’s proving to be a fantastic all-rounder. Goes well on the flat with 3 balanced paces and has lovely soft mouth making him a great prospect for pony club, showjumping, and dressage. He would also make a fabulous show pony.

Friendly, affectionate and loves attention. Easy to handle, great to catch, load and good with the farrier (he is barefoot).

While he is sensible, he’s still young and needs a rider who can guide him when needed. He would be best suited to a small, confident rider who can continue his education and have fun.

Heartbreaking sale as we have owned since he was 2 years old. We wish we could keep him forever but my teenage daughter has outgrown him.

We would love to see him to reach his full potential as a family/ pony club pony!

Genuinely sad sale of a much loved horse who in the past has jumped double clear at Intermediate level BE and completed a 3* short. Top ten placings at 2 * and won at Novice / 100 level.

He has been in the money the odd time he has been BSJ.

He has won and been placed all the way up the levels to PSG at BD and despite the tempi changes being a work in progress due to the rider not being able to count to 4 he has his area festival qualification for the summers this year!

I would love him to go to a home where he could either teach a child coming off ponies the ropes or an amateur wanting a gentleman to go and have fun on!

He is vice free and will travel with others or on his own (he’s acted as my emotional support animal for the young horses when travelling) and good to shoe, clip, hack etc

He’s not strong and will go around a xc track in collected canter or a gallop depending on what you want him to do.

I didn’t event any of my horses last year and I have kept him at 100open level this spring so that the option to downgrade him was possibility for the rest of the season.

Genuine enquiries only please.

She has been ridden by adults and children on the lead rein and off.

Renie has so much potential and has the heart and temperament to do well in any sphere

River , 16.3hh, 8 year old bay gelding, SUPER EVENT PROSPECT! Will go all the way in the correct hands

  • Been to dressage comps, show jump clear rounds, team chased and hunted

River , 16.3hh, 8 year old bay gelding, SUPER EVENT PROSPECT! Will go all the way in the correct hands

River has been slowly and correctly produced, gaining his scores in his unaffiliated dressage tests, never scoring below mid to high 60%s in his dressage. Qualified first rounds SEIB trailblazers championships, ready to qualify second rounds in the next week. Just moved up to Novice level dressage and ready to affiliate.

River has been to numerous arena hires, popping round courses of 90cms and 1m with ease! So
Much scope to go up the levels, he has also been to arena eventing hires a few times and lots of XC hires (sommerford park a few times, rectory farm park and Swalcliffe Ec).

River has team chased, (didn’t even have a cavasson noseband on, just went round in a snaffle with minimal tack) nothing fazing him, hedges, ditches , water, steps etc, he has also hunted over some big country and attended numerous ladies days where he has been impeccably well behaved and learnt to settle on a hunting field.

River is a horse that needs a job, he loves going out and about , and it’s never too much to ask , he would go out every day to do something if he could! At competition venues he is an absolute pleasure , calm and easy to handle, warm up arenas no problem, and just delivers every single time.

River is fit and ready to go, I would love to see someone continue to produce him and further his education, stepping him through the levels in any discipline.

A bit of background: Finished racing December 2022, only ran twice so very low mileage
Had some few months down time after racing.

So this horse is something very special, a real head turner and such a pleasure to deal with! he also absolutely loves a fuss! A real life teddy bear

Great In open spaces, always snaffle mouthed, Hacks alone ( although can take some encouragement if he is nervous of something) or in company, good in heavy traffic, fit and ready to go , very well schooled, works in a beautiful outline, 3 balanced paces, very flashy and uphill movement.

Done Pub rides(stands whilst you finish your drinks)

Good to box, clip (although a little ticklish in some areas!) and shoe, up to date on shoes and vaccinations up to date and just been wormed.

Has had a wind op, after his first race doesn’t affect him in anyway.
Retired sound no injuries. However, has been seen to weave invery occasionally when stressed/ not getting enough work/ turnout
(Soon settles and isn’t constant only at times of high stress) and this must be a handful of times I’ve seen this over the past year and a half!

Turns out alone or with others (mares and geldings)

River is one I would keep for myself as we have spent a long time producing him, but I have too many horses and I can’t keep them all, he will make such a fantastic horse for someone

Romeo - A PROFESSIONALS HORSE

7 year old, 16.3hh striking skewbald Irish Sports horse

Romeo is a fantastic stamp of a horse, absolutely beautiful and speaks for himself, a really classy horse
Very very kind natured and very willing to please

Romeo would go all the way in the right hands, he needs a kind, sympathetic rider that would like to further his education and get him out and about. Romeo loves having a job and thrives on work, he wouldn’t be one to sit in a field and be hacked once or twice a week. He has so much potential and I would love to see this horse go somewhere that he could truly fulfill it.

Impeccable ground manners, easy to do in all ways

willing to please the sweetest nature and just an absolute pleasure to have in the yard.

A lovely ride, not spooky, bold, not nappy, doesn’t rear or buck or get silly although he is sensitive to the leg which makes him a very responsive ride, voice controlled, isn’t strong, has a very soft mouth and needs a gentle rider!

Romeo has been to dressage lessons, he is set to do a couple of arena hires this week to pop round a course of jumps and is working towards his next couple of dressage tests. He has been xc, where he proved to be bold and he enjoyed himself. And Romeo has an incredible jump popping 1.05m from a trot with scope to burn.

3 balanced paces and a lovely floating movement, his trot is to die for! Very uphill and elevated in his movements, just beginning to learn to relax and work through his frame.

Romeo really would make a fantastic dressage horse or eventer.

Enjoys everything and takes it all in his stride, perfect in the heaviest of traffic, hacks alone or in company.

Happy to live in or out, Great with other horses, turn out with anything, just gets along.

Romeo is fit, sound and ready to go! He does need to strengthen his big frame as he is still growing and is a very large horse with very big movement. please note ?? will increase as education increases

No injuries or vices, that we are aware of, a lot of fun and very eye catching

up to date on physio, vaccinations and shoeing.

Great to do in all ways, tie up, bath, shoe, vets, tack up, groom

Competing locally at PSG

3 super paces and although lots of power and go she is very sensible. She is the same to ride every day even after I come back from a holiday or if weather dictates she doesn’t get turnout. She has an engine and is in front of the leg.

Jools has competed extensively up the levels - she has competed up to PSG but ideally would enjoy being a super competitive schoolmaster at regionals/AF/nationals at Ele/Med/AM level.

She loves hacking - regular outings (solo and in company) to our local woods, beach trips and farm rides. Brave and never spooky in the arena; she can go to new venues without needing an arena walk. Hacked in a snaffle but mostly now ridden in a double.

She has a confident single change each way but finds Temps difficult (anticipates), easy canter piris, half steps and passage.

Full history from 4yo when she was bought from her breeder.

She is a lovely person and easy to travel, clip and just do in general.

BRYNBACK PEGGY SUE

Registered DUN WPBR mare. Welsh section D x Up to height 13.3H rising 9 years.

Low mileage, no previous history known. I have owned Peggy sue since autumn of last year and I feel she is best suited to a hacking/ pleasure riding home. She's a forward plod type won't challenge anyone in a race but she'd win a beauty contest. We have dabbled at in-hand showing where she was foot perfect and goes very well in-hand potentially this is something she has done previously. She's a pleasure to be around.

To ride Peggy sue is responsive to the leg. She is wide as she is tall and forward not strong or silly. Enjoys going for a blast and hacks alone and in company. Not traffic shy however we are very rural so haven't seen any red busses yet! She's the sort you ride on the buckle the whole way. Goes first or last and happy with the dogs in tow ! Will pop logs and climb steep hills ..

Excellent to catch, groom, lead, bath, load, shoe etc slightly fussy to clip due to the noise of the clippers but the clipping part fine. Currently barefoot and wormed to date. Lives in or out in a mixed herd. No blemishes or sarcoids, allergies or scars. Teeth have been done this year.

**Peggy has shown to be girth shy not always and it's easily managed and kept at bay with simply not rushing. She is a statue to mount and won't move till asked. At worst she will swish her tail and raise her back slightly so would potentially put off a nervous or novice home. Ideally looking for a home who wants a horse they can pick up and drop, enjoy long rides out with friends and a friend to fuss over. Or equally she would be a fabulous broodmare due to her temperament.

  • Potential to make a great pony club pony with an experienced and capable family to bring her on.

Star is our 12.2 Dartmoor pony. We have had her for 2 fun filled years but unfortunately my girls have now outgrown her. Star is a real character and makes us laugh on a daily basis!

She is 8 years old but low mileage. She has a cracking jump in her but needs more work to bring this on. She is off the leg, but not strong, and always ridden in a snaffle. She would suit a keen and confident child looking for a second pony.

She is great to hack, forward and fun, but not strong or silly. Happy to slot in anywhere on the ride and I happily let my daughters hack out together on their own and with friends. However, she can occasionally be nappy on her own. When she naps she plants but not anything nasty. She just needs a confident, capable rider to send her forward.

She lives on a busy farm so is used to large machinery and dogs. She is good in traffic out on hacks.

Barefoot, lives out and travels well
Good to clip and for the farrier and dentist

She has been on a handful of outings which she really enjoyed - PC beach ride, a couple of pole work clinics and PC ground work rallies, and a couple of shows where she behaved well.

We would love to stay in touch with her new family and ideally would like her to stay in the South West.

Please do message me for more information - we have loads of pictures and videos. This is my daughter's instagram, @the.grey.dartmoor which shows all the lovely memories we have made with Star.

16.1hh, 8 year old gelding who would make the perfect all rounder.

He is straightforward and sensible to do and well mannered on top and from the floor.

He is progressing nicely with his retraining. 3 good paces and enjoys his XC and jumping. Hacks alone or in company, crossing a main A road to hack. Does everything in snaffle.

He would be a perfect all rounder / mother/daughter share to give someone a lot of fun.

No vices. Turn out alone or in company. Doesn't buck, rear, etc.
